From Karen H, who sourced this cover set: “I noticed My Cowboy Groom has a cowboy hat that is not oriented properly (he’s looking to his right but the hat is straight on plus it sits too high.
Sarah: This is too big and photoshopped on, right?
Wait, none of the guys on the covers of this series know how to wear a hat.
Karen H: then I noticed My Cowboy Kiss has the same hat in the same orientation. It just looks almost okay because the model is looking to his left where the hat brim sticks up. But I think that is a side flare and not the actual front of the hat.
Sarah: LOL the Cowboy Kiss hat is on straight while he’s looking to the side
Elyse: That is not the right hat for this genre, sir.
Karen H: And on My Cowboy Boss the inner lining of the hat looks visible.
Amanda: It looks like there’s a hat within the hat. Hat-ception
Sarah: It is FLOATING on his head. Is he the boss of gravity?
Maybe if he takes off his hat there’s another hat, and another, and another.
None of these looks like cowboy hats – the shape is off – they are missing the bend at the sides. I’m not a hat expert, but maybe these fell in the Lucky River and came out wrong.
It’s their expressions that sell it. Groom cowboy “They photoshopped a hat on me, didn’t they?” Kissy cowboy “Is the demon hat still following me? It’s where?!” Boss cowboy, no thoughts at all, the demon hat ate his brain.
They don’t know how to wear hats OR shirts
Is it really that hard to find a picture of a man actually wearing a cowboy hat?
My pet peeve…. contestant #2 has his headlights on.
Well at least all the cowboys are well hydrated, which is a pleasant change.
I am also not a cowboy hat expert, but the first hat is definitely not a cowboy hat the brim is far too narrow, it is also too small which is why it’s sitting so high on both models. The second hat is too big, and must be concealing an oddly tall top of the skull – a cone maybe? Or an El Capitan dome? – to be sitting so high. Always get your hats some where with a range of sizes people!
For the first two it looks like a copy & paste job gone wrong. Book three is giving Amish romance vibes.
At first glance I thought the first one was My Cowboy Groove. Sorry sir, you did not get the correct groove on.
@Donnamaire: I actually asked that question, too (I’m the Karen H in this case). I also hope the author or publisher didn’t pay too much for these covers.
Maybe those are not hats. Maybe they are tiny UFOs hovering over the heads of the cowboys, beaming up their brains.
I immediately thought Tayne hat wobble at the first cover (bit on Tim and Eric with Paul Rudd).
@footiepjs: This is the best comment I’ve read in my entire time on the site. I started playing Classic Wow again and I so wanted to name my character NudeTayne but I didn’t want to be flagged.
Clip art isn’t that expensive! Like, less than $20 usually. Why do they do this??
COWBOY GROOM is trying to be patient with the person who put that on his head.
COWBOY KISS is a fashion model with experience looking serious (an avoiding eye contact) while wearing silly things.
COWBOY BOSS tried to conceal his drunkenness by covering the lampshade on his head with a cowboy hat. That not only doesn’t work well by itself, he forgot about his face.
The whole series of covers seems to be experiencing a “hatception” in a way. Amanda, you summed it up perfectly!
Not only are the hats not right, at least one of the heads isn’t right.
