Welcome back to Wednesday Links!
If you missed it, we posted the 2025 Summer Romance Bingo card. Bingo officially starts next Friday, June 20th. I know some readers have already started planning out their square selections.
Besides that, how are we all doing? It’s a tough time right now, if you’re in the U.S. I’m here to participate in the collective commiseration.

If you’re in the New England area, I’ll be in conversation with Katie Sturino, founder of Megababe, to discuss her debut novel. The event is hosted at Lovestruck Books and, if you haven’t been yet, it’s a great space.
…
Did you know author Mary Robinette Kowal has an Instagram account for her calico cat, Elsie? She’s taught Elsie to use those talking word association buttons and yes, I’m now considering how I can do that with my cats.

Lara: If you are fascinated by the medieval period and have some spare time, I heartily recommend this site.

If you plan on taking your books to the beach this summer, the Columbus Library may have a solution to keep your library books nice and dry.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

A friend sent this to me and I may be the last person on the planet to know about JR Ward’s BDB being shown on PassionFlix:

My only comment: Ozzy Osbourne with long black hair
Help for Indie Authors – https://www.indieauthorconnect.com/a-million-lives-recovery
A number of cool indie authors were hurt by a scam book festival in Baltimore during May, 2025 and a website has been set up for readers to connect and buy books/follow authors on social media. Some of these authors are very new and there are undiscovered jewels in the book list!
@Darlynne: We had a discussion post about the trailer for After Dark!
Mary Robinette Kowal is the most amazing person. I don’t know how she manages to do all the varied and phenomenal things she does. A true Renaissance woman.
And as a Medievalist I expect to spend a lot of time poring over the Murder Maps.
I thought this article about an (unused) 19th century souvenir condom was delightful. If you read historicals, it’s a fun bit of history.

Lara, thank you so much for the Murder Maps, I was brought up in Oxford, and even without the murders it is fascinating to see the street layouts, the streets that still exist but have had a name change, which buildings I know that were already there back then and so much more.
Elizabeth, thank you for sharing that link, so many authors to consider.
