Overall, this was a really fun read, especially if you enjoy stories about writers and writing. I liked the humour, and I really enjoyed the friendship between M.E. and Savannah. I really liked Slow Dance. It’s a slow burn though, if that’s not your thing. Rainbow Rowell is an auto buy for me and she has never let me down
I say this every time they come up, but Julie Ann Long’s Palace of Rogues series is my absolute favorite ever and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They have warm humor; a found family vibe; smart, complex characters; and romances that grow gradually and beautifully.
The first one, LADY DERRING TAKES A LOVER is also on sale. They can pretty much be read as standalones, but the series has a lot of running jokes and recurring side characters that are definitely better appreciated when you know the background. After Dark With The Duke is my favorite in the Palace of Rogues series, and also a book I can only read when I know I can handle having my heart ripped out and put back together better.
Battle Royal is just the best. One of those books where it totally makes sense why the main characters would dislike each other, but also why they would totally fall for each other.
So many books on sale. I was going to pretend to have a book budget this month. However, a distressing number of books from the Lynsay Sands Highland Brides series are on sale. I’ve only read one, don’t care how good the rest of the series is, just look at those ridiculous/amazing covers.
And I’m only on page 3 of the deals.
