The Rec League: Bi and Pan Couples

The Rec League - heart shaped chocolate resting on the edge of a very old bookThis Rec League request comes from Sunrayravine in our SBTB Patreon Discord:

I’m looking for recs for m/f romances where both MCs are bi or pan. I’ve read and enjoyed:

Caroline’s Heart by Austin Chant
You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi
Xeni by Rebekah Weatherspoon

and I have the following on my tbr:
The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes by Cat Sebastian
Trouble by Lex Croucher
Radiant Sin by Katee Robert

Are there any others that you’d rec?

Amanda: I believe A Fragile Enchantment by Alison Saft has bi main characters.

Elyse: Yes to Fragile Enchantment

Shana: The Stand-up Groomsman by Jackie Lau is one of my favorites.

Which romances with bi couples would you recommend? Drop your suggestions in the comments!

  1. Danielle says:

Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha

  2. Rebecca F says:

Xeni by Rebekah Weatherspoon has a bi for bi m/f main pairing.

  3. Elizabeth says:

Love The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes!

The couple from In Charm’s Way by Lana Harper are both pansexual; one is a cis woman and one is a non-binary person with he/they pronouns.

  4. Skye Kilaen’s books Tell Me Anything and Check Your Work and Karmen Lee’s Passion Over Power are all m/f romances where both characters are bi/pan.

  5. PamG says:

I initially thought that Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall met this criteria, but only the FMC is bi. My memory may have been confused by the triangle aspects of this romance, but I thought I’d mention it if reality tv baking shows was anyone’s crack.

  6. HeatherS says:

I seem to recall that both are bi in “I’ll Be The One” by Lyla Lee.

  7. kkw says:

@Pam G I went down a rabbit hole of goodreads reviews trying to confirm whether the hero in Rosaline Palmer was also bi! I remain convinced he is but that may be entirely head cannon. I eventually gave up, in part because it’s more of a “with romance elements” than “romance” for me.

  8. Kristin says:

    Educated by Nellie Wilson

  9. Rhiannon Kaye says:

Check the characters in A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria, that one immediately came to mind/I remembered it that way.

  10. EditChief says:

Heartwaves, the new Anita Kelly novel, fits. I think some of Kelly’s previous books might fit also but I’d have to check to be sure both MCs are bi/pan.

  11. DiscoDollyDeb says:

The MCs of Kate Canterbary’s THE BELLE AND THE BEARD are both bi. There are references on both their parts to previous same-gender lovers, but in the book they are only with each other.

  12. squee me says:

A Delicate Deception by Cat Sebastian fits and is so so so good. I think Truly, Madly, Deeply by Alexandria Bellefleur does too (haven’t read, on my TBR).

  13. Jenny says:

I believe “Truly, Madly, Deeply” by Alexandria Bellefleur fits – it is a m/f romance between two people who are bi.

In “If Only You”, book 6 in Chloe Liese’s Bergman Brothers series, Ziggy is bi and Sebastian is pan.

  14. Mintaka14 says:

Can I Steal You For a Second? by Jodi McAlister has a bi main couple. It’s the second book in her Marry Me Juliet trilogy.

  15. dePizan says:

Sweet Vengeance by Viano Oniomoh – paranormal (everything she writes has both MCs as bi/pan, although this is her only m/f)

Give a Witch a Chance by Colette Rivera – paranormal

The Sorceress and the Incubus by Mallory Dunlin – fantasy, both are pan

Bitter Medicine by Mia Tsai – paranormal

  16. Mintaka14 says:

Oops, Can I Steal You For a Second is f|f bi, not m|f bi. I missed that part of the request.

  17. DonnaMarie says:

Well, this almost turned into a HABO. Remembered the world butterfly in the title. Remembered the cover was mostly blue. After that, complete blank. This why searching Goodreads on the desktop is so much better than the phone app.
BUTTERFLY TATTOO by Deidre Knight, which had a lot of recs on this site a decade or so ago.

  18. Liz says:

@Rebecca F, came here to say the same thing! Love XENI. But I always enjoy Rebekah Weatherspoon books—find them to be consistently well-written with wonderfully diverse rep

  19. MsPym says:

I think UNMASKED BY THE MARQUESS by Cat Sebastian might also meet the criteria.

  20. cleo says:

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert – tropey, fake dating contemporary romance. I love this romance so much.

The Companion by E.E. Ottoman – poly m/f/f T4T historical romance

Let Love Rule by Frances M. Thompson – opposites attract, emotionally satisfying tropey contemporary romance.

I’ll say that The Butterfly Tattoo isn’t bi4bi – he’s bi but she’s not. (I also don’t recommend it because of the bi erasure in it – it was groundbreaking when it came out but there are so many better options now.)

  21. ReaderMer says:

Hold Me by Courtney Milan is this category adjacent (explaining gives away large plot points) and Extremely Good especially if epistolary romance or Serious Genius Nerdly romance is your thing. One of my all time favs and a great comfort read.

  22. DiscoDollyDeb says:

BOUND WITH HONOR by Megan Mulry is a historical romance where both the hero and the heroine are in same-gender relationships at the time their marriage is arranged. I would recommend looking at Mulry’s backlist because, iirc, a number of her books have bi/pan MCs.

  23. Zileen says:

SILVER UNDER NIGHTFALL & COURT OF WANDERES by Rin Chupeco feature deeply sexy and satisfying bi-polyamorous romance. I adore this book duo dearly and do a little dance of joy every time I think of this fabulous throuple!

  24. Skye says:

I saw that one of my writer pals mentioned 2 of my books, my other bi4bi M/F is Winning Move. 🙂

Some of my faves by other authors:
Something Like Love by Christina C. Jones
Edge of the Woods by Jules Kelley

  25. Jenny L says:

Cat Giraldo’s WILD PITCH fits this, if you don’t mind a bit of baseball.
