  • All the Feels

All the Feels by Olivia Dade

All the Feels by Olivia Dade is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance and the second book in the Spoiler Alert series. It was also just recommended by Shana in our recent Rec League on Book-Long Grovels.

Following Spoiler Alert, Olivia Dade returns with another utterly charming romantic comedy about a devil-may-care actor—who actually cares more than anyone knows—and the no-nonsense woman hired to keep him in line.

Alexander Woodroe has it all. Charm. Sex appeal. Wealth. Fame. A starring role as Cupid on TV’s biggest show, God of the Gates. But the showrunners have wrecked his character, he’s dogged by old demons, and his post-show future remains uncertain. When all that reckless emotion explodes into a bar fight, the tabloids and public agree: his star is falling.

Enter Lauren Clegg, the former ER therapist hired to keep him in line. Compared to her previous work, watching over handsome but impulsive Alex shouldn’t be especially difficult. But the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to keep her professional remove and her heart intact, especially when she discovers the reasons behind his recklessness…not to mention his Cupid fanfiction habit.

When another scandal lands Alex in major hot water and costs Lauren her job, she’ll have to choose between protecting him and offering him what he really wants—her. But he’s determined to keep his improbably short, impossibly stubborn, and extremely endearing minder in his life any way he can. And on a road trip up the California coast together, he intends to show her exactly what a falling star will do to catch the woman he loves: anything at all.

  • The Daughter of Doctor Moreau

The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia is $2.99! This was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet and Moreno-Garcia’s books are usually worth a read. Not sure how this one compares to Mexican Gothic. Feel free to sound off in the comments!

From the New York Times bestselling author of Mexican Gothic and Velvet Was the Night comes a dreamy reimagining of The Island of Doctor Moreau set against the backdrop of nineteenth-century Mexico.

Carlota Moreau: a young woman, growing up in a distant and luxuriant estate, safe from the conflict and strife of the Yucatán peninsula. The only daughter of either a genius, or a madman.

Montgomery Laughton: a melancholic overseer with a tragic past and a propensity for alcohol. An outcast who assists Dr. Moreau with his scientific experiments, which are financed by the Lizaldes, owners of magnificent haciendas and plentiful coffers.

The hybrids: the fruits of the Doctor’s labor, destined to blindly obey their creator and remain in the shadows. A motley group of part human, part animal monstrosities.

All of them living in a perfectly balanced and static world, which is jolted by the abrupt arrival of Eduardo Lizalde, the charming and careless son of Doctor Moreau’s patron, who will unwittingly begin a dangerous chain reaction.

For Moreau keeps secrets, Carlota has questions, and in the sweltering heat of the jungle, passions may ignite.

  • Do You Want to Start a Scandal

Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare

RECOMMENDED: Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare is $1.99! This is part of the Castles Ever After series, but can be read on its own. Elyse loved this book:

I loved Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s funny, it’s sexy and it’s got some Clue-like shenanigans going on. If you have better self control than I do, I recommend savoring this book rather than powering through in one sitting (good luck).

On the night of the Parkhurst ball, someone had a scandalous tryst in the library. Was it Lord Canby, with the maid, on the divan? Or Miss Fairchild, with a rake, against the wall? Perhaps the butler did it.

All Charlotte Highwood knows is this: it wasn’t her. But rumors to the contrary are buzzing. Unless she can discover the lovers’ true identity, she’ll be forced to marry Piers Brandon, Lord Granville—the coldest, most arrogantly handsome gentleman she’s ever had the misfortune to embrace. When it comes to emotion, the man hasn’t got a clue.

But as they set about finding the mystery lovers, Piers reveals a few secrets of his own. The oh-so-proper marquess can pick locks, land punches, tease with sly wit . . . and melt a woman’s knees with a single kiss. The only thing he guards more fiercely than Charlotte’s safety is the truth about his dark past.

Their passion is intense. The danger is real. Soon Charlotte’s feeling torn. Will she risk all to prove her innocence? Or surrender it to a man who’s sworn to never love?

  • So This Is Christmas

So This Is Christmas by Jenny Holiday

So This Is Christmas by Jenny Holiday is $1.99! Thank you to everyone who let us know about this sale. This contemporary romance was mentioned in a previous Hide Your Wallet and I know some of you are fans of the series.

USA Today bestselling author Jenny Holiday concludes her beloved royal Christmas series with an unforgettable romance about a confident American woman and the strait-laced royal advisor who falls hopelessly in love with her.

Matteo Benz has spent his life serving at the pleasure of the Eldovian crown. His work is his life and his life, well…he doesn’t have much of one. When he is tasked to aid a management consultant who has been flown in to help straighten out the king’s affairs, he is instantly disturbed by her brash American manner–as well by an inconvenient attraction to the brainy beauty.

Cara Delaney is in Eldovia to help clean up the king’s financial affairs, but soon finds herself at odds with the very proper Mr. Benz. As intrigued by his good looks as she is annoyed by his dedication to tradition for its own sake, she slowly begins to see the real man behind the royal throne.

As they work together to return Eldovia to its former glory during the country’s magical Christmas season, Matteo discovers he is falling hopelessly in love with the unconventional American. But a man who has devoted his life to tradition doesn’t change easily. Can he become the man Cara needs, or will their love be another sacrifice to the crown?

I LOVED Do You Want to Start a Scandal. It’s one of my go to comfort reads. Highly, highly recommend picking this one up. It’s funny, sweet and engrossing.

  2. arden says:

Do You Want To Start a Scandal is one of the most charming romance novels I’ve ever read. I don’t know why Tessa Dare slowed down (or stopped) publishing but I miss having a new book a year from her.

  3. carabwnc says:

Most of Tessa Dare’s back catalog is a go-to comfort read. Castles Ever After, Spindle Cove, and Girl Meets Duke are all series I’d recommend. I believe Dare is on a hiatus from writing, but I hope we’ll get the last in the Girl Meets Duke series.

  4. spinsterrevival says:

Ditto to everybody here as Do You Want to Start a Scandal is the Tessa Dare I reread for comfort often: I love it so much, and there are actually laugh out loud parts in it (unlike a lot of books that say they’re comedic and really aren’t). Highly recommend!

  5. JoanneBB says:

All The Feels is very good – but I liked the latest one in the series better (not on sale, unfortunately). (like everyone else in the comments, I recommend the Tessa Dare too – I double checked and the website says I bought it in 2016)

  6. Laurel says:

@arden I think I saw on Twitter a long time ago that Tessa said she was having some health issues.

  7. Nancy Levine says:

I picked up ALL THE FEELS, DO YOU WANT TO START A SCANDAL & SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS. Thanks for the recommendations.

  8. Sunflower says:

Penny Reid’s Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend seems to be free on Amazon for five days or so.

  9. Lynn S says:

I read the first Jenny Holiday book in that series. Basically one of those Hallmark Christmas movies involving a royal family. But way better IMHO because, well, it’s not G rated. I am spacing out the series and will read the next one this coming Christmas.

    Grabbed the Tessa Dare!

Beth Bolden’s On a Roll: An Enemies to Lovers Gay Romance (Food Truck Warriors Book 3) is $.99. I’ve been enjoying Ms Bolden’s books quite a lot, and this series is a very fun one.
