Links: Fran Fine, Cocktails, & More

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Welcome back to Wednesday Links, everyone! Today is moving day for me! Can’t wait for a bigger place to entertain friends (and also get back to our in-person D&D session).

In terms of video games, I picked up Kena: Bridge of Spirits a week or so ago and really enjoy it. Definitely tough at some spots, but you can give your little friends different hats to wear.

I am also pleased to announce that February is over! Now I get to prep allergy season!

We’re also dealing with a deluge of slushy, snowy weather. I don’t mind it when I can enjoy it from a pile of blankets. The novelty wears off when I have to trudge through it!

EC Spurlock sent this link our way! Same sex love was celebrated on Valentine’s Day in Victorian America. The more you know!

I discovered #Franuary on Instagram where artist Kayla Coombs celebrates the fashion sense of Fran Fine with some fabulous fan art.

Enjoy this delightful profile of actor Jonathan Majors! Loved him in Lovecraft Country and I think he makes a great Kang in the MCU.

Lastly, here’s some interesting trivia about the creators of Angostura bitters. Is it true? I have no idea since no sources were cited in the Twitter thread, but it’s a pretty compelling story.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

For anyone who enjoys sports romances (especially baseball ones), I highly recommend this profile of Reds player Joey Votto in which he responds to all his teammates’ comments about him. Would 100% read a romance about him (the mopping! the minivan!) or featuring him as a secondary character.

Fans of Cover Snark and Cover Awe owe themselves a look at this blog post from Ilona Andrews on book covers. Especially the shot of Kate at her day job.

Looks like yesterday was International Romance Reader Day – March 1, 2023.

We should all make up for missing it by having extra reading time. 😉

Would love to share my latest article for Modern Daily Knitting with you all: it’s all about Beatrix Potter and how she helped preserve an endangered breed of sheep.

This thread of photos of Chris Pine described as book covers is everything.
