Where I live the holiday season is cold, and it gets dark very, very early. It’s during this time of year that I like to tuck in with my coziest blanket and focus on creative rest. I do most of my crafting over the winter months.
This giveaway features items to help you pass those (possibly) long, dark hours as well.
First up is this cat embroidery kit by Hawthorn Handmade. If you’ve never done embroidery before, this kit is a good place to start.

Also from Hawthorn Handmade is this snowman needle felting kit. Needle felting involves stabbing felt repeatedly with a big needle so I find it’s a good project for when I’m feeling frustrated.

I’m also including these Minnie & Purl stitch stoppers because they are so cute.
You put them on the end of your knitting needles to keep your stitches from slipping off when you aren’t working on your project.

Finally, I’m including some flair from The Clever Cove. I love their stuff so much!
We have a pin featuring a kitty enjoying some streaming while knitting with their books and tea nearby.

I’m also including the following three stickers:

Ed note: this is so adorable – thank you, Elyse!

Knitting is my go-to craft – I donate knitted sea animals for our local non-profit marine center to sell in their gift shop
I do crochet and knit some, but in the last year I have really gotten into junk journals, bookmaking and by extension art journaling. It really indulges my thrifting and and collecting habit and also book love <3
I have always been a knitter, but in the lady year and a half I learned how to crochet. Which apparently made me forget how to knit? I don’t know. Anyway I like yarn.
Actually, I am a knitter. Nothing complicated, since it’s more to have something to do with my hands while watching tv or listening to an audiobook.
I want to learn how to knit! My 8 yo taught me the basic stitch, I’d like to make something 🙂
I would like to start cross stitch again
I like to art, although lately I haven’t been making the time. I like acrylic paints and more recently, pastels. I’m mostly a dabbler-I have a sewing machine, I know how to crochet, I have a cricut…
I’m a knitter. So far, I haven’t been very successful at learning to crochet, but I’d like to do that, too.
I tend to spend a lot of time stitching. Embroidery, sewing, cross stitch you name it. Pairs great with audio books!
Knitting in the fall and winter, gardening in the spring and summer.
I have a ton of crafty hobbies but my main one is definitely knitting. I’ve been knitting for 9 years now, with my first project being a Fourth Doctor scarf for my then fiancé, now husband. We bonded over Doctor Who, so it’s very special to us. 🙂
Lately, woodworking, or coaxing out a shape from a hunk of wood
This question prompt frustrates me a little because I don’t really have any hobbies other than reading. I guess I really enjoy specific niche history podcasts? Is gossiping a hobby? That’s my hobby: talking trash! 🙂
When it’s very cold out (like today!), my favorite hobby is to do a puzzle with my husband. It’s very meditative and relaxing, even though we are not the most skilled 🙂 right now we are working on a 1000 piece Iron Maiden puzzle that is brutal!
I love embroidery and cross stitch. I’m just getting into them and it is so soothing and chill. I also want to get into knitting and crochet. I need more mittens!
I like to do mixed media paper crafts – cards, journals, collages, etc. and I love to incorporate book pages and literary references whenever I can.
I love spinning and knitting. I have tried needle-felting (it’s fun!) and used to embroider in my youth. Occasionally I sew, and I have started looking longingly at rigid-heddle looms. But spinning and knitting are my main crafting outlets at this point. They help me feel calm and centered.
Knitting and crochet— I’d like to learn how to tat, though!
I love both counted cross stitch and knitting! I’ve discovered loom knitting and it’s kind of the best…
It keeps track of itself? So when I’m wanting more
Brain engagement (patterns, counting) I cross stitch. When I want to do something productive but don’t want to have to pay *too* much attention I like to loom knit.
For the past two years I’ve been trying to learn to knit. My grandmother used to make beautiful sweaters, but, alas, it seems I can’t even handle a simple throw. I’ve tried to find a knitting group in my area as I would love a mentor. So in the meantime I turn to my cross stitch and needlepoint.
I’m a knitter, mostly just scarves, hats and blankets though. I also sometimes dabble in embroidery, it’s something I’d like to improve upon.
I like knitting for when I want something to do with my hands that isn’t scrolling while I watch or listen to something. I’m also almost entirely self-taught with everything knitting, so it also gives me quite an accomplished feeling when I learn a new technique.
Crochet! It’s my favorite but I haven’t been able to do much lately. Hoping 2023 is better. I also want to do more sewing.
