Yeah, Something’s Weird

Thank you to everyone who emailed me that things were weird in the hot pink palace HQ. I’m not sure why the comment post button has disappeared, but I’m working on it!

In the meantime, take care of yourself, read a soothing book, and if you want to help the existential dread in the US, here is a list of abortion funds across the country. You can also Google your local providers, and see how you can support them personally, even and including sending them a card to thank them.

And Nicole Cardoza at the Anti-Racism Daily has additional resources today. (I very effusively recommend the ARD.)

I’ll update when the weirdness with the site is resolved. Sorry about this, y’all!

ETA:11:40am ET – hooray! It appears the comment button is back! Phew.

Thanks for your patience, and thank you again for letting me know that the site is meaningful to you enough that you’ll let me know when it’s not feeling well.

Thank you for the links Sarah! As always, I know the Bitchery pulls together in support in these moments. I just made a donation to our local Tampa Bay Abortion Fund.

Existential dread is the phrase I keep using as well. As a Floridian, I worry the rest of the country has written us off as a result of our power-hungry egotistical bigot of a governor. Just know that many many citizens in Florida are not in support of his comments against the LGBTQ community, or any of the disgusting legislation that has been recently passed that seems to set our society back by fifty years or more.

Now, off to read my newly delivered copy of The Murder of Mr. Wickham during my lunch break. Happy to read about an awful man getting his comeuppance.

Thank you for fixing the pictures on the latest Cover Awe too!

  6. Sandra says:

Thank you, Emily C. I’m a fellow Floridian and am horrified at the direction our state as taken the last few years. We’re the 3rd most populous state in the country, we shouldn’t be this bass-ackwards. And now we’re waging war on Mickey Mouse.

  7. Lisa F says:

I was wondering what went down! I couldn’t like any posts, either. Good work!

Just donated to PP. Former Floridian, still in a state where there’s a lot of loud and vicious attacks on women’s, LGBTQA+, everyone-except-the-Rich-&-Powerful’s rights. I know we’re better than this, and I know we’ll keep fighting.

My first thought (and I was only half kidding) was that all women-centered spaces were going to be muted from now on. Glad to see functionality returned!

I have a standing monthly donation to EMILY’s List (or as my husband always jokes when the mailers come, “the girl’s group with the funny name…” LOL, I miss The West Wing!) They help train, fund, and campaign for pro-choice women candidates, and they have a pretty good track record.

  10. EJ says:

    @Lauren

Thank you for mentioning EMILY’S List! I forgot about them and I think I used to donate or at least get their newsletter.

Bravo Romance Community, particularly Smart Bitches!!!
