It’s the New Year!
How are we feeling so far? Hopeful? Full of dread? Both? Both is definitely an option.
I have started 2022 with getting my septum pierced. I absolutely love it and I’m glad I finally did it. Next up this week is a fresh haircut and getting my eyebrows waxed. I don’t know what it is, but nothing makes me feel like a whole new person than an eyebrow wax.
You also might be wondering why this post is up first thing in the morning and not the afternoon per usual.
It’s a slow news day here at SBTB HQ, so we moved the post up a bit so you had something to read with your morning routine.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
I absolutely loved the “Where is the Comma in God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”! It should be required listening in every high school AND university English course.
Check out the article, “Wordle is a Love Story” at the New York Times. Sorry, you’ll just have to cut and paste the following link since I am just too tired to figure out how to embed it.

@Qualisign: Wordle! Thanks for reminding me to do the puzzle today!
I wonder why Daddy Long Legs was so popular last year? I love that book (aside from the creepy premise).
@Qualisign I just found Wordle today through the NYT morning email and tried it. I thought “no way I can get this in six tries”, but I did! I may never figure out another one, but today was fun and I plan to keep trying.
I was coming to mention Wordle, too!
Wordle is such a satisfying word game, but I thought the “love story” behind it was one of the most uplifting things I’ve read in a while. Having someone build a word game just for you (including having you vet the words that will be used) is as swoon worthy as anything I’ve heard. AND the game is free, free of ads, and can only be played once daily. No one is making money from it. It was just an act of love from someone with a brain. Swoon.
Woot!!
Thanks for wordle! I would not have checked it out if it wasn’t mentioned here. I am stoked because I guessed my first word on the fourth try!! Woohoo! I will be playing more of it! Thank you!
