  • Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert is $1.99! It’s the third book in The Brown Sisters series, which we’ve all enjoyed at the site. Do you have a favorite of the three? Mine might be Take a Hint, Dani Brown.

Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong—so she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It’s time for Eve to grow up and prove herself—even though she’s not entirely sure how…

Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car—supposedly by accident. Yeah, right.

Now his arm is broken, his B&B is understaffed, and the dangerously unpredictable Eve is fluttering around, trying to help. Before long, she’s infiltrated his work, his kitchen—and his spare bedroom. Jacob hates everything about it. Or rather, he should. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore—and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior.

  • It Happened One Summer

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey is $2.99! I believe Aarya talked about this one in July’s Hide Your Wallet, so it’s  a newish release. All of the promo material said this one has a Schitt’s Creek vibe.

Tessa Bailey is back with a Schitt’s Creek-inspired rom-com about a Hollywood “It Girl” who’s cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town… where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.

Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar… in Washington.

Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she’s more than a pretty face.

Except it’s a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there’s an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn’t want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart.

  • Hired

    Hired by Zoey Castile

Hired by Zoey Castile is $2.99! This is the second book in the Happy Endings series and I enjoyed this one! I actually think it might be my favorite book in the trilogy, as both the hero and heroine just genuinely love being around one another. My only complaint was that I felt the heroine’s relationship with her mother could have used more of a resolution.

For a man who makes his living pleasuring women, what happens when the only pay-out worth having is love?

Faith Abigail Charles has always done the right thing. So when her mother runs for mayor of New Orleans, Faith puts her law career on hold to help her win. But when tensions run high, Faith trades one kind of heat for another—in the arms of a hard-bodied stranger. He’s everything a woman dreams of in a lover. So much so that her one-night stand turns into two, then three, then four . . .

For Aiden Rios, meeting smart, sexy Faith feels like fate. After being ditched by his client in the Big Easy, the high-paid male escort needs a little company himself. Aiden knows he’ll have to come clean about his line of work, and he plans to—right after another taste of Faith’s sweetness—and another and another. . . . Until a chance meeting with his client leaves Aiden exposed—and Faith shocked and hurt. Now the hired hottie must show Faith that the love they share is bigger than the scandal threatening to destroy them . . .

  • A Spark of White Fire

A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna

A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna is $1.99! Aarya really loves this series and reviewed the second book, though they can’t be read out of order. It’s YA fantasy and comes super highly recommended! Have you read it?

In a universe of Gods and Goddesses, moons that hide ancient beasts, and cities built on the back of spaceships, infant Princess Esmae was cast into deep space, surviving only by the grace of a Goddess.

Raised far away from her birth home of Kali, Esme longs to return to her real family. And when the King of Wychstar issues a challenge, offering to gift his unbeatable, sentient warship, Titania, to a warrior that can win his competition, the way home becomes clear: she’ll help her brother, Prince Alexi, win the ship and consequently, win her place back in the arms of her family.

But when Alexi rejects, she instead enters as the champion of Max, who banished Alexi’s family from their ancestral home, waging a war that pits cousin against cousin.

And she does the unthinkable. She wins.

Now, Esmae finds herself on the wrong side of an inevitable war, with the Goddess-blessed Titania in the hands of her family’s enemies. Will she be able to reunite with her brother and learn why the queen banished her? Or will her family literally destroy itself, with the weapons she gave them?

Drawing on Indian mythology including the Mahabharata, A Spark of White Fire is a sweeping young adult sci-fi/fantasy retelling that stretches across the universe exploring love, friendship, and the complicated ties that bind families together, and rip them apart, in a world where Gods and Goddesses keep an eye on the stars . . . and the people they favor that fight among them.
