SBTB Hanukkah Celebration 2021 – Night Three Giveaway!

Hanukkah 2021 with a framed picture of SBTB's original ladies and a lit menorah

Happy Third Night of Hanukkah!

This giveaway bundle comes from Elyse, who gathered some lovely, lovely knitting and crafting items!

A set of books, a Hanukkah craft bag yarn and coffee and a mug on a white fleece backdrop

Here’s what’s inside, per Elyse:

    • A project bag in Hanukkah fabric from Silver Bird Studios
    • The mug is by Pawley Studios and sold by my favorite LYS, Fibre. I love these mugs because they keep stuff really hot or cold. I actually drink my iced coffee in them.
    • The yarn is by Dye Mad yarns. It’s 2 skeins of worsted weight in their colorway Happy Challah Days and is a blend of super wash merino and alpaca
    • And then the coffee I found at Rhinebeck from Knit Coffee Company. It’s their Knitter’s Blend, unground.

Ed. note: HAPPY CHALLAH DAYS I LOVE IT.

  2. Maureen says:

I started a blanket but haven’t finished it yet.

  3. MaryK says:

Ugh, I haven’t made anything this year, and the lack is wearing on me. I’ve spent most of my free time playing tablet games.

  4. Lori Hlaban says:

I have made several hats this year, all for my 31 year old son, who has been living with cancer for over 2 years. He undergoes chemo, loses his hair, it grows back. After awhile he undergoes another course of chemo, loses his hair, etc. Currently I’m working on a set of fingerless mitts.

  5. Tanya says:

I made Happy Birthday banners to add cheer for family parties to add cheer where there are fewer attendees or for cars for drive-by birthday events:)

  6. Jule says:

I just finished a cross-stitch of a mountain ash branch. After years (ok, a couple decades) away from it, I finally picked up my needle again two years ago and have been really enjoying it. Now to learn to knit! When my sister asked what I wanted this year I told her I’d like her to teach me to knit.

  7. j says:

I didn’t finsh anything this year, I’m in a knitting slump, I hope if I win that I would getinspiration to get going again on all my potential knitting projects.

  8. flchen1 says:

Working on a little sweater ornament for a friend! What a cute collection of crafty items!

  9. Susan T says:

I just finished knitting some little bird ornaments for a fundraiser for my daughter’s ballet ensemble. I’m knitting a cat ornament for my daughter next. My son got a baby Yoda ornament that I crocheted.

  10. Pam Miara says:

  12. Marlene says:

I started the year making random items – hats, booties – to donate at work (I work in child welfare). but, then, my niece had a baby and I crocheted a blanket for him, and now I am starting an afghan for my nephew who is getting married in May. wishing similar wonderful news for all in the new year!

  13. Abbie Michaels says:

I knit when I’m anxious so lots of things this year! Favorites are the super squishy blanket I made a friend and the Christmas stocking for my nephew using the stocking my grandma knit for me as a pattern.

  14. Trix says:

Still proud of the 10-layer Russian honey cake (RIP 20th Century Cafe, sigh) I made for my lockdown birthday…

  15. Lauren says:

Not craft related, but this year I ‘made’ space in my life/rental for foster kittens! I’ve only fostered two litters, but I know every bit helps! Plus there’s just something about half pound purring fuzz balls that really help ease stress – and I don’t have to pay for their vaccines or de-sexing operations!

  16. leftcoaster says:

    I made clothes (sewing)

  17. Heather says:

I’m an addicted spinner and knitter so I made lots and lots of things this past year. Miles of handspun, a fun colorwork sweater, and many hats for charities like #hatnothate, Wool-Aid, and Hats for Sailors.

  18. Meg says:

I’m with @Suzy K – I made my bed! But I also made many delicious and nutritious meals for my family. I really, really, really want to learn to knit, so I’m making a wish that I find time at some point to make an honest effort.

  19. Ginger says:

Some hats and wrist warmers are the extent of my knitting production this year.

  20. kkw says:

I knit a bag for my sister in law and felted it, but I still haven’t lined it so idk if it truly counts as made. I am terrible at finishing things…
I have made some ceramic buttons, the black porcelain probably came out the best. I haven’t used the buttons yet, but I finished making them so that totally counts right?

  21. Elspeth says:

I started getting back into making block prints by carving stamps out of erasers!

  22. Evelyn says:

I made latkes from scratch for the first time in years this year.

  23. Suzanne W says:

I started making books this year, taking a bookbinding class that had been postponed by the pandemic. It has been amazingly enjoyable!

  24. ReneeG says:

This is such a great gift! Love the yarn colors. I am still working on scarves for my best friends for Christmas. It is an on again/off again project, but I better get a move on!

    Happy Hanukkah!

  25. Lottiwe says:

This year I made a fasinator for a Kentucky derby party! It was so much fun!

  26. Sara says:

I made a bunch of hair scrunchies with my dad’s old silk ties

  27. Taylor says:

I made some lovely birthday cakes this year. A gorgeous mango cheesecake last Sunday for my mom, and a flourless chocolate cake for my husband are my two favorites 🙂

  28. DeborahT says:

    Very pretty yarn!

I’ve been making fabric gift bags for Christmas. They went over really well last year, so now everybody in my family has last year’s to give each other and I’ve had to make more to give them. Minimal wrapping paper ftw.

  29. Jennifer Wilson says:

I knitted a lovey for my niece’s first birthday. When she opened it, she kissed it. 🙂 I’ve also done some cross stitching and crocheting.

  30. Joanna says:

I made a hat and bootie set for my new nephew. This summer I fermented my best batch of pickles ever!

  31. Christy says:

I made many craftspeople happy at my local craft show by buying their products!

  32. Elizabeth says:

I made much food. So much food.

  33. Miss Louisa says:

I still haven’t finished a scarf made with a sock yarn in a colorway called, socks without borders, by blue moon fiber art. I have had this yarn for so long, I don’t know if they still make it, but a percentage of the cost was donated to doctors without borders. As a scarf, in a moss stitch on tiny needles, it is coming out looking like a red, grey and white plaid.

I have been experimenting with yeast dough and was finally able to successfully make pizza dough. I may try a loaf of bread next.

  34. Melissandre says:

All I can think of that I made this year is a cool display of LGBTQ+ books to commemorate LGBT History Month. I made a rainbow out of colored copy paper, pasted pictures of book covers to it, and laminated the whole damn thing. Who says college professors can’t get crafty?

  35. Karen H says:

    I made a Halloween Quilt !

  36. Violet Bick says:

I made a lot of pesto this year. Gave some away, and froze a lot, I think I’ll have enough to last through next spring.

  37. TamB. says:

I crocheted a tote bag. First time I’ve crocheted anything. I knitted a few infinity scarves and matching socks. I knitted gloves for family and a beanie for me. And I found and made a mystery knit blanket that I have still to crochet outline and stitch together.

A friend talked me into an Instagram account so its there I post my knitting which somehow keeps me accountable.

  38. J says:

    I made strawberry-mango-banana smoothies

  39. Lesley says:

I made less than usual this year. One shawl that I actually started in 2020 and a baby blanket that I still need to finish for a baby born 2 weeks ago. Too many books to read = less time spent crocheting.

  40. Karin says:

I didn’t do any knitting this year, but I made some great jams and jellies. Bluebarb jam using rhubarb from my garden and wild blueberries I picked. Wild grape jelly using wild grapes I foraged. And peach jalepeno jam, because it’s my favorite.
