Happy First Night of Hanukkah!
Yes, Hanukkah is preposterously early this year – only a few days away from being a “Thanksgivakkuh.” But that doesn’t mean we can’t nosh leftovers and latkes, and celebrate!
Every year we do a giveaway for each night of Hanukkah, and I wouldn’t dream of skipping this year. We’ve got lovely things to give away, and I love celebrating with you.

Walks with friends, and my kids.
My sweet fur baby kitty Beanie. She has always been a source of light for me, but this year especially when my mom passed away in April, Beanie has been a great comfort to me.
I got an adorable puppy!
Watching Running Man, a Korean variety show, brings me happiness each week 🙂
Ted Lasso! I first heard about it from SBTB, so thank you! I was able to introduce Ted to my sister when she visited and binge-watch it with her family — it was such a joy to just spend time together this year and do “normal” things like hang out and watch TV.
I had a rough year, we lost my son and my mom to Covid in just a week. We got a new puppy so that things didn’t seem so empty, and the tiny thing is the best thing right now.
Two of my boys graduated college and have great jobs.
Happy Hanukkah!
My niece, Ava, who was born in February.
My cat, fanfic, and comfort tv 🙂
I left my admin job and have been teaching art online! My students are amazing and it’s been fantastic to watch them grow. Witnessing their successes and struggles, helping them make the jump to art school or get their portfolio together, is an exceptional privilege. They make such inventive, open-hearted work! When they unlock new skills and I hear their delight it’s my absolute favorite thing, I’m so glad I took this chance.
We were able to start spending some time with our grandson after we were vaccinated in April and that has been wonderful!
My family brings joy to my life every single day!
Seeing the kids get along and make time for each other warms my heart like little else! Happy Hanukkah!
My brilliant friends who always make me laugh whether they be in person or through technology.
Cats, because people are just being so ugh. My cat, other people’s cats, cat videos on the internet – especially the adventure cats like Nala (and her human Dean) who go off and do exciting things.
I made a move to a different state that I’ve been dreaming about for a very long time. It’s been harder than I expected in a lot of ways, but I’m also so glad that I’m here!
With lockdown and remote and work and remote school lasting for so long my brain was starting to feel fried with all the worry and over-thinking. It’s small but in the midst of all that finding that I could physically handle going out running and be outside and with some friends and not have to worry felt like such a huge gift. My brain could take a rest and it has helped me handle the long duration of covid and all the twist and turns that keep happening with it.
My friends and my new kitten have brought light into this year.
For me, it’s been introducing my dad to Ted Lasso and getting to relive the first season through his joy, and then watching the second each week with him. It’s been such a great bonding experience.
I have a new kitten who brought me back thoughts of suicide this fall. It suddenly occurred to me that can’t stick my head in the oven, because #1 WHO will feed Chloe, and #2, I have an electric oven. THAT NEEDS CLEANING, so…she is just the thing to make an old lonely widow feel needed. She is my light.
My family of choice has really helped me over the past 18 months.
Your taste in Kate Spade bags remains impeccable!
This year, it’s been BTS radiating light and joy in my life.
My coworkers brought me light. They kept me sane throughout the year with laughter and conversation about everything.
I discovered Libby, and it is SO MUCH LIGHT! Now i can read wherever i am and whenever i have a minute.
