Have We Met?

Have We Met? by Camille Baker is $1.99! This came out in early July and was a previous Hide Your Wallet pick. The heroine reconnects with four men from her past, thinking one could be her soulmate.
What if you already met the soul mate you were destined to be with? And you didn’t even know it?
After losing her best friend to cancer, Corinne’s life is in flux. She has moved back to Chicago, is considering her next career move (or temp job), and has absolutely no time to look for love—until a mysterious dating app called Met suddenly appears on her phone, and with it, an invitation for Corinne to reconnect with four missed connections from her past. One of them, Met says, is her soul mate…
Corinne doesn’t believe the app for a second, but when she very quickly finds herself with back-to-back blasts from the past, she’ll have to consider if maybe she’s wrong about it. The thing is, Corinne’s also been introduced to a really great guy outside the app’s influence. As their feelings for each other grow, Corinne has to wonder: With her apparent true love still out there, should she tap yes to the next match?
With help from a new group of friends, her loving if annoying family, and maybe a touch of fate, can Corinne come to terms with the loss she’s still reeling from, take control of her career, and find love along the way?

Out on the Ice by Kelly Farmer is 99! Tara read this one and gave it a C-. To sum up, if you want more F/F sports romances, this one might be worth a try, but warns of some significant biphobia in the book and a conflict that dissolves.
Don’t miss this tender and funny contemporary romance from debut author Kelly Farmer.
Caro Cassidy used to be a legend.
During her career, Caro was one of the best defense players in women’s hockey. These days, she keeps to herself. Her all-girls hockey camp is her life, and she hopes it’ll be her legacy. Sure, her new summer hire is charming and magnetic, but Caro keeps her work and personal life strictly separate.
Amy Schwarzbach lives life out loud.
Amy’s as bright and cheerful as her lavender hair, and she uses her high-profile position in women’s hockey to advocate for the things she believes in. Ten weeks in Chicago coaching a girls’ training camp is the perfect opportunity to mentor the next generation before she goes back to Boston.
Letting love in means putting yourself out there.
When the reticent head coach offers to help Amy get in shape for next season, her starstruck crush on Caro quickly blossoms into real chemistry. As summer comes to an end, neither of them can quite let go of this fling—but Amy can’t afford a distraction, and Caro can’t risk her relationship becoming public and jeopardizing the one thing that’s really hers.

Recipe for Kisses by Michelle Major is 99c! The heroine owns a toy shop, which I think is pretty neat. The hero is a chef who wants the heroine’s location to open up his own restaurant. There’s definitely lots of lust going on, if that is or isn’t your preferred element when it comes to a romance. This is the second book in the Colorado Hearts series.
Chloe Daniels doesn’t need a man—after escaping a marriage gone bad, she guards her heart as closely as the details of her past. So when hot-tempered celebrity chef Ben “the Beast” Haddox storms into her struggling toy store, Chloe is determined not to be drawn in by his broad shoulders…or baby-blue eyes.
In his hometown, Ben’s culinary career is almost as famous as his bad-boy rep. He’s out to prove to naysayers he’s a success by opening a new restaurant—and the only thing standing in his way is Chloe’s store. But before he has a chance to convert her space into his signature eatery, she cooks up a plan to show him that her shop is worth saving.
As things start to sizzle between them, Chloe must figure out how to avoid getting burned. Can she trust herself to love again, or has she jumped out of the frying pan and into desire?

Jill Kismet: The Complete Series by Lilith Saintcrow is $2.99! This set collects all six books in the Jill Kismet urban fantasy series. It’s been a long time since I read these and I don’t think I finished, but I believe there’s a romantic arc. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Not everyone can take on the things that go bump in the night.
Not everyone tries.
But Jill Kismet is not just anyone.
She’s a Hunter, trained by the best — and in over her head.
Welcome to the night shift…

I read Have We Met? when it came out (Amazon Prime monthly selection) and I really enjoyed it. However, it was months and a ton of books ago so I can’t remember much about it. Since I classified it with 5 stars, I do recommend it.
On a very strict budget, but that Lilith Saintcrow is a bargain I can not pass up.
I remember enjoying the Jill Kismet books years ago (but my memory being what it is, I recall next to nothing of the content!)
Oh ho, it’s still on sale, so let me copy-paste my off-topic comment from last night into an on-topic comment:
Chloe Angyal’s book, Turning Pointe: How a New Generation of Dancers Is Saving Ballet from Itself, is on sale for Kindle at $3.99 (normally it’s $9.99 or thereabouts). I was listening to a Burn It All Down episode where Jessica Luther interviews Angyal, it’s amazing stuff and just happened to be on sale when I checked, yay!
I’ve been really impressed with the Amazon Prime First Reads selections lately. I also picked up Have We Met? for free over the summer, and also The Bennett Women, a spin on P&P set in a women’s dorm at a prestigious university. I just started The Bennett Women and it’s fantastic so far!
This month I picked up Farah Heron’s Tahira In Bloom for free. It might be a little more YA than I usually go for, but I know she’s an author with a lot of love here and elsewhere in romancelandia. So I’m pretty excited it’s available early and for free.
