  • When We Left Cuba

When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton

When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton is $1.99 and a KDD! This one features a character from the first book in this series, Next Year in Havana, but I believe you can manage this one as a standalone. If I’m wrong, though, chime in below! Here’s what Sarah had to say:

When We Left Cuba is beautiful and fascinating. Better recommendation comes from my house sitter earlier this year who very timidly asked if she could read my ARC of book three because she loves the series so so much and was so excited that a preview copy was in her vicinity.

In 1960s Florida, a young Cuban exile will risk her life–and heart–to take back her country in this exhilarating historical novel from the author of Next Year in Havana, a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick.

    Beautiful. Daring. Deadly.

The Cuban Revolution took everything from sugar heiress Beatriz Perez–her family, her people, her country. Recruited by the CIA to infiltrate Fidel Castro’s inner circle and pulled into the dangerous world of espionage, Beatriz is consumed by her quest for revenge and her desire to reclaim the life she lost.

As the Cold War swells like a hurricane over the shores of the Florida Strait, Beatriz is caught between the clash of Cuban American politics and the perils of a forbidden affair with a powerful man driven by ambitions of his own. When the ever-changing tides of history threaten everything she has fought for, she must make a choice between her past and future–but the wrong move could cost Beatriz everything–not just the island she loves, but also the man who has stolen her heart…

  • Sleepless in Manhattan

Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan

Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan is $1.99! This is the first book in the From Manhattan with Love series and readers loved how fun it was and note there’s some pretty great female friendships. However, others mention slow pacing and the lackluster chemistry between the hero and heroine.

USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan introduces a sizzling new trilogy about three best friends embracing life—and love—in Manhattan

Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she’s now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than in the exhilarating bustle of Manhattan? But when Paige is let go from the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone.

Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother’s best friend, New York’s most in-demand date, and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige’s fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?

  • Dragon Bound

    Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison is $2.99! I believe Ellen mentioned they’re doing a read (or re-read) of the series in the latest Whatcha Reading. It’s the first book in her Elder Races series. I listened to this one on audio and enjoyed it. It’s a bit more on the steamy/erotic side and it definitely reminded me of early 2000s paranormal romance.

Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.

As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in each other.

Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.

  • The Dark Protectors Boxed Set

The Dark Protectors Boxed Set by Rebecca Zanetti

The Dark Protectors Boxed Set by Rebecca Zanetti is $2.99! If you’ve ever been tempted to try this series, this is a pretty good deal that includes three full-length books and a novella. Are there any fans of the series in the Bitchery? Every time we feature one of the books on sale, I’m always really curious about them.

Don’t miss the first four volumes of the unforgettable Dark Protectors series: Fated, Claimed, Tempted, Hunted

Driven by prophecy, the Dark Protectors are male vampires, fearless and born to mate with human females—for eternity. Talen Kayrs is on a mission, and once Cara Paulsen takes him as her mate, nothing can stop the force of his desire…

Vampire king Dage Kayrs knows that when he encounters the brilliant geneticist Emma Paulsen, the power of their coming together will never be decoded…

When bodyguard Max Petrovsky is sent to rescue Sarah Pringle from the evil Kurjans chasing her, he’s willing to go far beyond the call of duty…

It’s taken over a century for ultimate soldier Connor Kayrs to consummate his union with the powerful witch Moira Dunne, but the time has come…

  1. MaryK says:

    Dragon Bound is pretty awesome.

  2. Sharla says:

It’s baseball opening day and Julianna Keyes has both books in the Charleston Thrashers series on sale for $0.99. Real baseball action with some steam, too!

  3. DonnaMarie says:

    Pia! Pia ! Pia!
The Elder Races is in my second favorite paranormal series.

  4. Kit says:

I’ve only got past the first few chapters of Dark Protectors before I had to stop. Hero is a total alpha jerk who has no problems completely controlling the heroine. The heroines daughter is meant to be four but she sounds older.

I have considered skipping book one of this box set and reading from two onwards but I’m not optimistic.

  5. Kareni says:

So @DonnaMarie, curious minds would like to know: What is your favorite paranormal series?

  6. Kareni says:

I’m another fan of Dragon Bound. It ties with Oracle’s Moon for favorite in the series.

  7. PeggyL says:

Let me venture a guess, @DonnaMarie?
IAD series by Kresley Cole? (Still waiting for Nix’s story…)

  8. Jiobal says:

I really loved Dragon Bound when it came out and devoured the entire series until I got – I don’t really know. Somewhere around the griphons the world building got inconsistent and I lost interest. A while Back I came across Alexis Hall’s Blog; pretty early in he describes His first encounters with romance novels. Among the memorably hilarious entries is his description of Dragon Bound. If you are in the mood for a bit of Old School Read-Along, I highly recommend that.

@jiobal, Thank you! I couldn’t find the review on Alexis Hall’s blog, but his Goodreads page led me to his Guest Review on the Dear Author site. Here is a link ~ https://dearauthor.com/book-reviews/revew-dragon-bound-by-thea-harrison/
