Nancy Friday’s erotic classic, MY SECRET GARDEN, is back again as a KDD for $2.99 today. There’s not much left to say about this almost 50-year-old assortment of women’s sexual fantasies collected by Friday and published in the early 1970s, except, if you were a teenage girl at the time (raises hand), MY SECRET GARDEN was simultaneously mind-expanding in its scope and comforting in its matter-of-fact presentation.
You know how you start a book and instantly feel you’re in good hands? That’s how I felt listening to the audiobook of How To Fail At Flirting. I was expecting an amusing RomCom from the title–but got a rich, mature-feeling romance that was, yes, fun to listen to but also a good exploration of emotional recovery and I loved this couple together. Despite the need for a trigger warning, this is a warm, delightful read. I listened to a library copy, so I’m buying the ebook now.
It seems that several Vanessa Kelly books are on sale, including at least one more in this specific series.
All for $1.99 apiece.
It’s been a little while since I started “Instant Attraction” (and got 20 pages in), but from what I remember, I would not recommend it to anyone who gets annoyed with gender stereotyping. Nothing major, more like microaggressions.
Huh. Went to grab the Shalvis only to find I allegedly bought it back in ’14.
Double huh.
I really liked How to fail at flirting. Two excellent characters and a touching story. I’d recommend this one.
