Howdy! I need to test something on the back end (insert joke here) (insert “insert” joke here) and would like to ask a favor.
Could you please leave a comment below?
Tell me what you’re looking forward to today, or what’s making you feel good?
I’ll go first: I’m planning to go to the bakery tomorrow and get pain au chocolat for everyone for breakfast. (Don’t tell!) I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee!
Thanks in advance for helping me test some settings behind the scenes!

After long commute home (heavy rain is expected), putting on the pjs and watching BattleBots w/my son and husband. The rare occasion when we all enjoy and watch the same show.
My husband and 5 yo made snow penguins on our front porch/outside the window of my home office/our virtual school desk yesterday.
House hunting this afternoon which can be a bit stressful during a pandemic but still excited overall!
Really the only thing I am looking forward to today is that tomorrow is Friday and that means I get two days of NO WORK!
Going to play Divinity Original Sin 2 with my partner this evening. Always fun!
I’ve been up since 4:30am and feel wonky – so after a nice full day of work, and a meeting of the book group (social distance natch) I’m ready for bed.
I am looking forward to my daily brush lettering lesson. (pretty pencils!!!)
I am talking to a friend from high school today (via Zoom), whom I haven’t talked to in 30 years.
Looking forward to online events from my local library! I miss the library. Luckily I stumbled onto their events page and oh boy! there’s book clubs and crafts and intro to D&D, all without having to put on real pants or go outside.
I am picking up curbside pickup shish tawouk for lunch at 11:30 and I am so looking forward to it!
Not sure. I’m still trying to learn to cope with being retired (since 12/31/2020). When to sleep (I used to work nights), when to read, when to eat (trying to learn to weigh less), when to exercise (my job was very active), etc. I know, it’s all first world problems, and pandemic stuff just makes it more strange. It will all work out eventually…
Just picked up You Had Me at Hola at the library. 🙂
Actually your ‘test’ has uplifting results as I’m smiling as I read the small things that are making people happy right now…and not-so-smiling at missed loved ones.
I’m looking forward to trying to virtually teach my 12 year old granddaughter (and her mom, our daughter, the non-baker) in Scotland, how to make pastry and butter tarts from here in Canada! I’ve ordered her a bunch of baking supplies via the ‘big online ordering company’ to surprise her and it’s being delivered in small doses so she doesn’t know what’s coming next. I also look forward to hearing from her after each delivery. I hope this experiment works!
PS: I also look forward to my daily dose of SBTB – especially the Bachelor and Bachelorette updates and Cover Snark!
My husband and I are going to a house showing!! This will be the first house we live in together! Since we got married we have lived in all apartments!!!
@Karen L – it’s not easy losing all that structure! And you’re “supposed to” enjoy retirement which makes it harder to talk about the downsides.
TheFrogman.me had a good post about creating your own structure in quarantimes. Also his corgi is the cutest.
@Reader in Canada: That sounds adorable! Happy international baking!!!
I got coffee-infused fudge in the mail today (it was not a surprise, I ordered it.) It is, however, exceedingly tasty.
Thursday is my last work day of the week (YAY!) and I just got a hand-me-down tortilla press so mostly I can’t wait to go home and start my weekend with some fresh homemade tortillas!
It’s my last day of of quarantine from a Covid exposure, I made fresh banana bread for breakfast, and I finished a book last night which means I get to start a new one today. Woohoo!
I have a sugar hangover thanks to my team Zoom ‘chocolate tasting’ event last night. Looking forward to eating no candy today. Something I never would have thought I would write.
I’m going to try a new cookie recipe later today!
My BFF called today and he’s doing ok (he has MS so it’s not a given).
Just finished reading Eva Gate’s Lighthouse Mystery series. Love it! Taking a brief pause to live with the characters for a little longer before selecting my next read
@San:
Cookies or any sweet thing for breakfast is a usual occurrence for me. The two things making my day are that mom made gingerbread, and my sister and her boyfriend are bringing over thin mint cookies.
I’m looking forward to watching yet another episode of the original Star Trek, and reading some manga.
I am looking forward to the time when both my poor sick baby and my poor sick spouse are asleep… so I can actually get started on the work that’s due tomorrow!
I’m looking forward to picking up my new glasses. They are crazy cute and are going to look so good on my face
I’m looking forward to finally having a go at my craft room so I can get busy in there again.
Getting another row of my niece’s panel quilt completed.
It stopped raining! Also, lemon pasta for dinner!
It’s cold here today and I have lovely warm homemade pho for lunch. So comforting.
I’m looking forward to finishing a module in a class I’m taking. And Choffy. Lots of Choffy.
We had snow flurries this morning, so I decided to make lasagne soup & garlic bread for dinner.
Black coffee and apple slices + peanut butter for me!
I’m looking forward to having some soup. It’s a cold and rainy day here in the SF Bay Area, and the soup is comforting for both the body and soul.
Looking forward to starting a new book tonight
I look forward to coming home from work each day to my current knitting project. I’ve taken it up again after some years, and so far I’ve completed 3 shawls and a pair of arm cuffs… yes, I’m addicted… 🙂
Fingers crossed for a nap because retirement life is worth having worked for 40 years.
I’m looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday. It’s been a long week.
I’m grateful that I was able to get a 94 year old friend hooked into audio-books through the library as she’s finding it difficult to read physical books currently.
