Howdy! I need to test something on the back end (insert joke here) (insert “insert” joke here) and would like to ask a favor.
Could you please leave a comment below?
Tell me what you’re looking forward to today, or what’s making you feel good?
I’ll go first: I’m planning to go to the bakery tomorrow and get pain au chocolat for everyone for breakfast. (Don’t tell!) I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee!
Thanks in advance for helping me test some settings behind the scenes!

I’m having cookies for breakfast! Because breakfast cookies!
Also enjoying a day off!
Seeing some book group friends (outside, socially distanced, masked) whom I haven’t seen in months. (Would love some pain au chocolat!)
That sounds amazing!
I’m looking forward to the end of the day, when the (online) exam I am giving to my students tomorrow will be written and ready to go (hopefully).
I’m looking forward to some relatively mindless projects on my plate today so I can listen to podcasts while I work. And also coffee.
I am looking to the fact that I don’t have to leave the apartment in the middle of a snowstorm.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow being Friday!
Italian class tonight! And don’t tell anyone, but tomorrow there is no school for the kids and I am joyous. I know the teachers are doing what they can and I don’t fault them, but online school has really sucked for my kids. Particularly my older guy on the autism spectrum 🙁
For a long time, I don’t think he could even conceive of what we were doing as school. Now he gets it, but he isn’t happy about it.
As he puts it, “This is school. No school!”
I’m keeping it mostly positive in front of the kids, but every day we don’t have online school feels like a gift.
Happy almost Friday, everyone.
I’m wearing my new Bombas pride socks, and I grin every time I see my feet =)
I have a new curly hair product being delivered in the next day or so, and I’m very optimistic that it’ll be magical!
My project had a major milestone, and we’re having drinks virtually to celebrate!
And I just started reading Helen Oyeyemi’s Gingerbread and it’s fantastic so I can’t wait to start reading again.
I’m looking forward to the brownies my husband and baby are currently making (while I come up with questions for next week’s zoom quiz and watch a documentary about murder in Iceland)
Since I just sent an email to them, I’m hoping to hear back from my potentially next landlord. Commuting in the Quarantimes sucks!
Looking forward to fish tacos tonight (husband is cooking) with spicy slaw and avocado. And, of course, tomorrow is Friday!
@Mandy: Oooh! I hope you really like it!!
Giving a crap ton of second dose covid vaccines today. It’s going to be exhausting, but I’m so happy people are going to be protected.
YES CHELZ! THIS IS THE GOODEST NEWS. Thank you – sending virtual wine, chocolate, and fluffy blankets for when you’re done.
We support our local restaurants during Covid by ordering takeout from a different restaurant every Friday (and tipping the usual amount or more even though they’re just handing us a bag). Partly selfish–I mean good food and I want them to still be around in case I survive this apocalyptical pandemic.
Testing things makes this SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) sit up and go “ooh, ooh, a problem to solve!”
Also, this SDET is currently feeling very good about her cup of morning tea, a flavor called Setting Things on Fire. 😉
Rain!
I’ve managed to take my depression medication every day for over a week now!
Quiet day at work so I’m looking forward to a peaceful day around the house!
I’m looking forward to leaving work early, seeing my son off to college again and spending some quality time with my stressed out 17 year old daughter. We are going to make lasagna and cookies and watch movie. There will be dog snuggling.
Tomorrow is Friday and I’m going to take some time away from my laptop to make banana bread, which I’ve been meaning to do all week.
I am going to visit an alpaca farm this weekend, and that’s something I’m definitely looking forward to!
I’m flying from DC to England tomorrow to be reunited with my English husband after 5 months apart! We finally got the UK marriage visa we’ve spent thousands of pounds and months of tears and strife on. I’m so happy, and to treat myself, I bought a copy of “Everything I Know About Love I Learned From Romance Novels” to read on the plane 🙂
@Emily – Mazel tov! I hope the book keeps you in happy company. Congrats and stay safe!
I was working on a temperature cross-stitch project for 2020, and got way far behind due to anxiety-induced lethargy, but I finally finished it yesterday! So that made me feel good.
I’m expecting a package today. No books, but it does contain a plushy Komodo dragon and some new highlighters/markers.
Walking the dog who doesn’t give a whiff that I haven’t brushed my teeth behind this weird mask! (sorry, gross)
I always keep a couple books unread and shows unwatched so I will have things to look forward to
I’m prepping my budget today and tomorrow – excited that everything looks on track.
Baking chocolate chip cookies because pandemic and I’m out of Fs to give re: what I eat if it makes me feel good. Also, Carrie S’s review of SIRI, WHO AM I? gives me something to look forward to.
I’ve got yarn coming today! Always a good day for that.
I am looking forward to making a fresh pot of coffee and doing some crafts. I am also looking forward to reading one of my new books – still deciding which one.
@Emily Keyes Congratulations and best wishes for a safe trip! I know this hasn’t been a fun 5 months for you.
My middle daughter’s fiance is from England and last year, just before Covid, they started the fiance visa process for him to come to the US. Needless to say, expensive as it was, the visa went nowhere. The last time we saw him in person was November 2019 when he came over for a couple of weeks. My daughter had to cancel her spring trip to see him due to Covid. They are still completely up in the air about when they will get to see each other again, much less when they will get married. It’s a tough situation for them. We’re hoping that vaccine distribution ramps up here fast!
My youngest daughter’s longtime boyfriend is in Florida, and we haven’t seen him in over a year now either. (She’s living with us right now due to losing her job.) Love in the time of COVID. Thanks goodness for video chats!
All the comments are so lovely and really helpful as I figure out what my issue is. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Finishing a January writing challenge. I ran out of story at 48,500 words, though, so tomorrow I’m planning to write a 1,500 word, completely unnecessary love scene just to officially meet my goal. PS Commented from my phone, if that makes a difference to the testing.
I breakfasted on 90% cocoa chocolate this morning. Delicious!
I’m looking forward to making some coffee in my French press. Hth!
