Links: Song & Dance

Workspace with computer, journal, books, coffee, and glasses.Welcome back to Wednesday Links! Over the weekend, I went down a rabbit hole of music, revisiting some of my absolute favorite videos and finding some new ones. That means, this edition of links is all about singing and dancing.

I hope you all are staying safe and healthy! 2021 isn’t off to the greatest of starts, but hopefully thinks will begin to turn around in about a week. SBTB is here for you when you need a bit of levity and peace!

Back in 2008, I was obsessed with this video. It came at a time when I lost a friend in a car accident and to this day, I always cry when I watch it:

Thank you to everyone who sent me this link! I am totally on board for some sea shanty revivals and this seems like a perfect setup for a romance hero:

Sometimes, things don’t have to be so complicated. Something as a simple as a dancing Baby Yoda can brighten your day.

The robots from Boston Dynamics are the stuff of nightmares, but I can’t stop watching their videos.

Another video from my personal vault of favorites:

Lastly, I’m always in support of a song getting an update with curse words:

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

The harmonies on that sea shanty gave me goosebumps in the best way. Romance heroes, all of them!

Reminds me of an all time favorite, Africa by Toto performed by this ship crew: https://youtu.be/xy2xDrnNAhs

I love SBTB – but still miss looking forward to a video each Friday. The variety opened up my eyes and ears to new ideas and sounds. Well. This is to say that your post today was a great pleasure. Thank you.

I have been listening to this song on repeat: Eleni Foureira’s Στο Θεό Με Πάει (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COhxgZCqZWk and the video’s CC has the translation of the lyrics!). It’s SO MUCH FUN. So upbeat and boppy, and I’m tempted to try and learn the choreography and dance around my house to it, and I generally hate all dancing so that is a HUGE recommendation.

@Ashley M. – I remember Eleni Foureira from the 2018 Eurovision song contest! Very talented performer.

Have you linked mar’s Murderbot fan animatic? I thought I’d seen it here before, but couldn’t get a search hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDMSHgQY5rM

I’m all about the sea shanty after watching the movie Fisherman’s Friends-which is based on a true story. Also has James Purefoy wearing a fisherman sweater and talking in a gruff Cornish accent, which feels like a wish come true. There is something about the music that I just love!

oh that Pop Culture video was a great way to start the day. 🙂

    I needed these, thank you.
