  1. Claudia says:

STAGS by M A Bennet is an amazing YA thriller that explores class struggle, peer pressure and the power and draw of unchecked privilege, set in a backdrop of a British private school.

  2. Azure says:

“The Duke Who Didn’t” by Courtney Milan—a book I loved so much I bought the ebook, audiobook, AND an autographed copy in the Romancing the Runoff auctions!!

  3. Sukari says:

    Murderbot. All the Murderbot.

  4. M says:

    Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews

  5. Vanessa says:

I recommend books all the time but my favourite read of the year and thus my most recommended was A Mind Spread Out on the Ground by Alicia Elliot. It should be a book everyone reads. I loved it!

  6. Mary says:

Probably Take a Hint, Dani Brown!

  7. Liza S says:

I most often recommended Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo.

  8. Stefanie E. says:

Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik is the first book in a a freaking amazing space opera trilogy that features standalone romances in each book. I adore her hilarious dialogue, fascinating political intrigue, and excellent adventure/heist plots.

  9. Cindy says:

    Other than Murderbot?
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

  10. Laura says:

    Headliners by Lucy Parker

  11. Maria Smith says:

I too am going with my same answer as yesterday…The Consortium Rebellion series by Jessie Mihalik. Not only was it a really fun read but it never failed to get me out of my current head space which we all know we needed this year!

  12. Rachel Smoka-Richardson says:

I loved Her Last Flight by Beatriz Williams.

  13. Liz says:

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. Not new, obviously not a romance, but when I read it this summer – wow.

  14. SusanK says:

Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews

  15. Andrea2 says:

I would say the Rockliffe series by Stella Riley, but I used that choice yesterday. So another book I’ve recommended to a few people is The Guest List by Lucy Foley.

  16. Janet says:

I recommended Gideon the Ninth, and All Systems Red. Also, Leave the World Behind, but just for some people, and Piranesi, which I loved, but didn’t recommend because it is strange and I can’t deal with the criticism. I loved all of them. Wait – also the City We Became.

  17. Gloriamarie Amalfitano says:

The very best book I read this year is The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin

  18. Trix says:

Hikaru Nakamura’s SAINT YOUNG MEN series and Lindy West’s SHIT, ACTUALLY

  19. Laurel says:

Lethal Remedies by M. Louisa Locke – I’ve been recommending this one to everyone who likes historical mysteries.

  20. Darlynne says:

We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry.

  21. sula says:

For romance, I think it was “The Duke Who Didn’t” by the incomparable Courtney Milan. It got me through the hell of election week and rekindled my love of historicals.

For non-fiction, definitely Barack Obama’s memoir “A Promised Land”.

  22. Vee says:

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

  23. Ruth Anderson says:

    The Socialite by J’nell Cielsielski!

  24. Christi says:

Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev

  25. Maureen says:

Same answer as yesterday, Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall!

  26. Katie Wilson says:

Drunk on a Plane by Carrie Jacobs

  27. Jules says:

    Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall.

  28. Diane says:

Mmmm, so many suggestions here that I’ve put on my reading list.

My suggestion is Mimi Matthews series ‘The Parish Orphans’. In my opinion the first one – The Matrimonial Advertisement – is the best.

  29. Natalie says:

North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell

  30. cayenne says:

Sorry, I can’t name just one, but instead of dropping a boatload of book titles on everyone, I’ll limit myself to just five.

Loretta Chase’s Ten Things I Hate About the Duke
Courtney Milan’s The Duke Who Didn’t
Sarah MacLean et al Naughty Brits Anthology
Talia Hibbert Take a Hint, Dani Brown
    Olivia Dade Spoiler Alert

  31. Janice says:

Probably Lucy Parker’s Act Like It has been my most frequently recommended book of the year: always a great read!

  32. SandyH says:

    C. S. Harris’ St. Cyr series. I recommend this series all the time and eagerly await every new book. I have already preordered for 2021.

  33. Amanda B says:

    The entire Veronica Speedwell series!

  34. Sabra Schirm says:

Madame De Pompadour by Nancy Mitford

  35. Rebekah says:

I don’t know that I actually recommended a book this year. But The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory would have been one had I actually seen a friend or two in person this year who ask for recommendations.

  36. EG says:

    Boyfriend Material

  37. Elizabeth Trabe says:

Withering Hope, by Layla Hagen is my favorite book that I’ve read this year!

  38. LB says:

Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb

  39. Sue says:

I told everybody about Hearts on Hold by Charish Reid based on the SBTB review, then added it to my TBR (and haven’t read it yet) and then all the people I recced it to READ IT and told me it was AMAZING. This is a real instance of “do as I say, not as I do!”

  40. Joy Kennedy says:

    I’ve recommended Shelly Laurenston.
