Happy Seventh Night of Hanukkah!
I love how each night gets brighter and brighter in my house.
It’s almost time to make s’mores over the menorot! (Kidding – the candles aren’t quite hot enough for that. Ask me how I know!)
Let’s get to our giveaway for tonight!
Today’s prize is: a Kate Spade Staci Nouveau Bloom Medium L-Zip Wristlet in Blue

That pattern makes me so happy every time I look at it.

Winner update: Congratulations to Maria Smith! Please check your email shortly!

When a Rogue Meets His Match, I read the book after seeing it on SBTB. I enjoyed the book. There have been other books on your blog that have caught my eye. Thank you.
I’ve found so many wonderful books and authors from this site, such as The Blacksmith Queen, by G.A. Aiken.
Hench. When I first read the premise, I was unsure if it would be my jam, but I read a review here and I am so glad I did. It convinced me to give the book a try and Hench ended up being one of my favorite books of the year!
I think it was Difficult Women by Roxane Gay. Thanks for the giveaway! That pattern makes me happy, too.
The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller
You all sold it, and you weren’t wrong! So, so good.
Mia Marlowe’s The Curse of Lord Stanstead. It’s a historical paranormal, and that’s a category of book I didn’t know I wanted to try.
Honey badger books!
Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo. There were others, but I just read that one and I loved it.
The Widow of Rose House.
What happy finds have I discovered on here this year? How many is my limit? 🙂 Love and Other Scandals by Caroline Linden, 10 Things I Hate About the Duke by Loretta Chase, Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret just in the last month.
Love Lettering!!!
Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken.
I find tons of books from the reviews, sale posts, and comments here so it’s hard to think of just one. I’ll go with The Hollow Kingdom, tho.
Thanks!
The Blacksmith Queen by G. A. Aiken
Happy Hanukkah! I get so many of my book recommendations (and purchases) from the site and from the commenters. Hench by Walschots and the T. Kingfisher books are probably tops for this year, but I know your past recommendations for the joy that is Murderbot or the Others series have made a huge difference in my life this year – rereads for the win!
My Christmas Number One / Leonie Mack
Moi, aussi!
Most of my recs come from here, but Bitterburn is my current favorite. I’m leery of fantasy, especially retellings, but grabbed this after seeing it described as Beauty and the Beast with all the problematic parts corrected.
I loved “Act Like It” and “The Flatshare” and “The Switch”. I would never have looked at these books without your A reviews!
A Notorious Vow by Joanna Shupe. I ate that thing up and how I need to read more of her backlist.
Love Lettering and Gideon the Ninth
Jennifer Ashley’s series about the cook, last one Death in Kee Gardens
I love looking through the HABO even when no one knows because there are always such great suggestions. Man’s Twin Takes Place of Heroine’s Dead Husband gave me Stranger in My Arms, The Countess and the Anne of Green Gables…
…but my favorite was Lorraine Heath’s The Earl Takes All.
Flat share and the Switch are both books I wouldn’t have read without recs here, and I’m so happy I read them. Thank you to all the Smart Bitches. Honestly you are my most trusted source for books!
Definitely Love Lettering
I heard about Better Than People by Roan Parrish through this sight, I think it was mentioned as being on sale or hide your wallet mention. I had not heard of Parrish before, but now I can’t get enough! Thanks, SBTB!!!!
The Afterlife of Holly Chase! I loved it. My 17yo did too!
I’m so happy to share this, beach read! You guys recommended this a lot and when I saw it for sale I bought it. And Omg am I glad. I’ve been recommit ever since. I freaking loved this book. Just so delightful in so many ways!
I discovered Conventionally Yours by Annabeth Albert and truly enjoyed it.
Zanetti’s Deep Ops series.
I’m pretty sure I heard about it here–Strange Love by Ann Aguirre was in my top 3 for the year, and I’ve read it several times already.
Happy Hanukkah!
Thank you so much for introducing me to Gideon the Ninth this year!
Boyfriend Material
Jenny Colgan’s Mure Island series – I have “Christmas at the Island Hotel” on hold at my library which is *sniff sniff* currently closed in the stay-at-home order
Murderbot, Murderbot, Murderbot. Was it this year or last year I discovered it? I have no concept of time anymore.
Also Whiteout was very good, pretty sure that was this year.
Mia Sosa, The Worst Best Man.
Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn.
The Murderbot series by Martha Wells
You recommended An Inconvenient Duke, and I am exceedingly grateful.
I discover most of my books here. Puddin by Jule Murphy is one I really enjoyed that I wouldn’t have read otherwise.
Ok, I LOVED Tikka Chance on Me, Romantic Outlaws, Whiteout, Burn for Me, Ayesha at Last, His perfect partner, Mangos and Mistletoe, Into the Drowning Deep, The Worst Best Man, A prince on paper, Duke of Sin, My sister the serial killer, and Making Up! Honestly, most books I pick up are through y’all!
