SBTB Hanukkah Celebration 2020 – Night Five Giveaway!

Smart Bitches Hanukkah 2020 with a menorah and a frame of the Ladies logo of the site on a table with blue lights

Happy Fifth Night of Hanukkah! I’m really excited about today’s giveaway prize. I use mine all the time.

Today’s prize is: Sudio Fem bluetooth earbuds!

Black earbuds in case that charges them with a leather tie cord against a white background

I have a pair of them and use them constantly. I use them for yoga which I do with an app on my phone, and when I’m sewing and want to listen to music or podcasts. The case charges them, so in between uses they are topped up, and there’s a light indicator on the front to tell you when to charge up the case.

My favorite thing is that once they were paired with my phone, when I take them out of the case, they activate and re-connect to my phone automatically. Since I usually work out first thing in the morning, and am often in my pjs, not having to fiddle with buttons is wonderful.

Want some specs?

  • 20 hours total playtime on a full charge
  • Ambient noise reduction with microphones on each earbud
  • You can use one or both
  • Comes with four sizes of earbud to get a good fit
  • Bluetooth range of 10m

Want to enter? Yay!

Just leave a comment and tell us about something you loved listening to this year! Sounds? Music? Podcasts? Audiobooks? We want to hear (ha ha) all about it!

I’m not a podcast person (and I did try this year); I don’t really enjoy listening to audio books as well (I’m afraid the voices won’t match what I visualize)… So, music. All kinds, depending on my mood. But (and I suppose ear buds aren’t going to help with this) I really enjoyed listening to my son’s voice as he speaks in his virtual learning classes. Reminds me how much he’s grown and how he’s adapting to our unusual circumstances!

  2. JENNIFER BEYER says:

I’ve been listening to world news on YouTube.

  3. Bonnie says:

I’ve been all about the audiobooks. Recently I found Annette Marie’s urban fantasy books. They are really working for me

I really enjoyed The Jane Austen Society audiobook, narrated by Richard Armitage.

Audiobooks are my thing. I walk over 20,000 steps every morning and listen to audiobooks while I do. I would love these.

  7. KarenF says:

I’ve been listening to Headspace’s ambient soundscapes as I try to go to sleep.

YouTube videos. Preferably 80’s music, 80s/90s freestyle music and now some Christmas music.

  9. Theresa Teague says:

    I listen to KEZ 99.9
They begin Holiday Favs in Nov until Christmas.

  12. Vicki says:

One of the happy things about being in a quarantine bubble with my grandson and two of his friends (they get together to do video school on the back porch) is listening to all their music. I am still not a big fan of rap but some of the other artists I have discovered are great. I have added them to my Spotify, too. Currently grooving on Space Girl by Frances Forever.

  13. Kit says:

    Halsey’s new album is PER-FEC-TION.

  14. Lesley says:

Any of the podcasts from the Extra Hot Great family of podcasts but especially this year the Great American Quiz Show podcast – really excellent quizzes that will have you yelling the right answer at your phone.

  15. Becca says:

Depression has been sapping my energy for reading (boo!), so podcasts have really been helping me in the later half of this year, especially Ologies with Alie Ward.

  16. Geralynn R Ross says:

I have been listening to 2-4 audio books a week.

  17. Kareni says:

I enjoy listening to music CDs. I’ve recently listened to Billy Joel, The October Project, Tom Lehrer, a variety of musicals, and now holiday music.

    Happy Hanukkah!

  18. Colleen says:

I’ve returned to some of my favorite music this year: Fleetwood Mac’s The Dance and anything by Frank Turner. And The Chicks’ new album was the “new” thing I listened to the most.

  19. Maureen says:

I’ve recently discovered the Agents of Smooch and Sentimental Garbage podcasts—highly recommended!

  20. Kay says:

Oh, I’ve listened to so many audiobooks this year. I love the Murderbot audiobooks the most <3. Oh, and the Hadestown broadway soundtrack. It's the best.

Zoomed Radio from Canada on the internet radio. I like their music mix in the evening

  26. ReneeG says:

Happy Hanukkah! I like listening to YouTube music videos (although I’ve also listened to a lot of writing videos since NaNoWriMo started) and Smart Bitches Podcasts.

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday!

  27. Lauren says:

I still have not managed to get into podcasts or audiobooks-makes me feel like an increasingly small part of the population. However, I have rediscovered my love of radio. It gives me snippets of current events, educates me about local events (That I probably won’t go to-Thanks, Covid!) and mixes up old favourites with songs I’ve never heard before.

  28. kkw says:

Spotify informs me that I am still predominantly listening to Cock Sparrer, despite all my attempts to find new music.

  29. Yaara says:

The Raven Cycle books on audiobook! After resisting getting into audiobooka for the longest time, I started them after finding they were on Spotify and I really enjoyed them.

  30. Noel Stark says:

My step-son introduced me to Crumb! I love it!!

  31. Sarah B says:

I’ve been listening to the podcast Stuff You Missed in History Class since 2014, but they have been getting better and better. I have learned so much from them.

  32. Susan Henderson-Utis says:

I finally caved and bought a subscription to Spotify, so now I can listen without commercials. I love it! The music and podcasts of my choice. I’m really enjoying the podcast, Israel Story (like This American Life), and the soundtrack to the old musical, 1776, right now.

  33. Arijo says:

Our national broadcasting station has GREAT shows. This summer there was JS Tendresse+ that focused on music from 1970 to 2000 (the music is awesome and the host is the funniest); every sunday night there’s C’est fou… with 2 sociologists deconstructing a concept (like empathy, home, truth, reality) for 2 to 3 hours, with lots of archival files (very philosophical); every weekday afternoon is Plus on est de fou, plus on lit, all about books, books, books, and actors acting out scenes from movies or a plays (from Crocodile Dundee to obscure absurd plays); Sunday mornings are Dessine-moi un dimanche with awesome historical capsules by Evelyne Ferron and retellings of Greek mythology by Thomas Hellman. Outstanding. Then there’s the summer special La nature selon Boucar, with the delightful marine biologist/humorist Boucar Diouf; or the weekly funnies, A la semaine prochaine and La soirée est encore jeune.

(Huh. We really do have a great national broadcasting station. I hadn’t really realized how great until I had to stop myself from listing almost every show they have.)

  34. LaurieF says:

I enjoy true crime podcasts. A new podcast that I started listening to this year is True Crime Obsessed. Highly recommend.

  35. Susan says:

Pre-pandemic, I was almost always listening to something–in the car, shopping, at work, doing chores, you name it. I use ear buds, headphones, one of those headbands with speakers, portable speakers, etc. I’m not a big podcast listener, but love music, audiobooks, and even those soothing sounds vids on YouTube.

  36. Luciana says:

Omg, this has been the year of audiobooks for me. Listening to my favorite books (which I have read over and over again) has been a really different experience and weirdly comforting and relaxing, even during the worst times. Plus, can ‘read’ and cross stitch at the same time,

  37. missingSunGal says:

Music! On the constant search for new music I love. Also the drama kimchi girls podcast about Asian dramas. I love listening to that one every week.

  38. Jessi G says:

Shelly Laurenston (also as GA Aiken). I have listened to almost her full catalog again this year. Perfect amount of crazy to counteract the actual crazy that is 2020.

  39. Tara Churchill says:

This is the year I discovered podcasts, and I’m so glad I found this one! I’ve also set a goal of listening to 3 audio books per month and have been somewhat successful. But my absolute favorite this year is the YouTube channel New Bliss so I can have something lovely and soothing in the background while I work that isn’t distracting: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-gjtyoUTzGEwWM5Y1J4J7Q/videos

  40. Sophydc says:

Audiobooks all the time. I’ve been too fidgety to read much, but I can listen for hours.
