  • Stripped

    Stripped by Zoey Castile

Stripped by Zoey Castile is $1.99! This is the first book in the Happy Endings series. I read this one and gave it a B grade:

Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!

Skilled, sculpted, and sexy, the men of adult entertainment are the kind of guys a woman reserves for her fantasies not her reality. But is there more to these professional hotties than meets the eye? . . .

The day Robyn Flores meets Zac Fallon is one of those days. You know, when you’re already late for work. Mostly because you haven’t really slept since your best friend abandoned you for her fiancé and her exponentially better life. The kind of day you drag yourself to the cleaners to pick up your laundry, only to discover you’ve got the wrong bag—Star Spangled sequined thong, anyone? So Robyn is definitely not ready for the ridiculously gorgeous guy at her front door, except that they have each other’s clothes. But then, is any woman ever ready to meet the love of her life?

There’s just one problem: Zac Fallon is not the love of Robyn’s life. Zac knows, despite the
all-too-intimate dinner they share, he doesn’t have a shot at her. Because the next time Zac sees Robyn, he’s front and center of the male revue headlining her best friend’s bachelorette party. So much for wooing the pretty schoolteacher, much less her impressing her old-fashioned family, with his upstanding lifestyle. Now he’s only got one way to win his dream girl. It’s gonna be the steamiest, most irresistible seduction she’s ever seen. And this time it will be no act . . .

  • What a Gentleman Wants

What a Gentleman Wants by Caroline Linden

What a Gentleman Wants by Caroline Linden is $1.99! This is the first book in the Reece Family Trilogy. There’s a fake relationship element to this historical romance and readers loved the stuffy hero. However, some readers weren’t sold on the plot. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.

Two virtual strangers are swept into a sizzling, spellbinding world of daring deception and unexpected passion in Caroline Linden’s thrilling new romance. . .

    What A Gentleman Wants

Marcus Reese, Duke of Essex, has spent most of his life pulling his twin brother out of trouble. An occasional thank you would suffice; instead, his resentful sibling forges his name to a marriage license and presents him with an unwanted wife. She’s a vicar’s widow with a mind of her own who may be the first person in Marcus’s well-ordered life to make him feel. . .completely out of control.

Hannah can’t help but curse her own idiocy. Dire straits have led her to the altar with a gentleman she hardly knows. Played for a fool, she’s embarrassed, furious, and worse, married to an equally outraged stranger–an exasperating man who unleashes all manner of emotions in Hannah, not to mention unwanted desire. Reluctantly, she agrees to play the wife until he can sort out the mess. But the nearness of the undeniably attractive Duke and the passion in his black eyes unsettles her well-guarded heart–making her want to do so much more than “act” the role of blissful bride. . .

  • Need You Now

Need You Now by Nicole Helm

Need You Now by Nicole Helm is 99c! This is the first book in the Mile High Romance series. It’s a contemporary romance with opposites attract elements. If you like outdoorsy, Helm writes a lot of great ones. Readers seem divided on the hero. Some loved his grumpy nature, while others thought his grumpiness bordered on sad and rude.

    He’s mountain-tough. She’s city-smart. The sparks are about to fly . . .

Only the most resilient of souls could breathe new life into an all-but-forgotten town nestled in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains—but what they get in return might be worth the heartache it takes to make it happen . . .

Gracely, Colorado, was once a booming mining town. No one knows that better than Brandon Evans. His father’s company kept the town thriving for years—until Brandon threatened to expose his illegal practices and drove him away. Everyone blames Brandon and his brother for turning Gracely into a ghost town—but the tenacious residents cling to a long-held legend about the land’s healing powers. And Brandon has a plan to spin that legend into reality . . .

Lilly Preston took a leap of faith and moved to Gracely a year ago to save her nephew from an abusive situation. She would do anything for him, even sacrifice her glamorous job. Reluctantly, the former PR hot shot takes a job at the ruggedly handsome Evans brothers’ Mile High Adventures, a company offering restorative Rocky Mountain vacations.

Brandon thinks PR is pointless, and Lilly knows less than nothing about the outdoors. Which is exactly why they need each other—in ways neither ever imagined . . .

  3. DiscoDollyDeb says:

Over 100 category romances KDDs today! One of the many is Caitlin Crews’s HP, HIS SCANDALOUS CHRISTMAS PRINCESS ($1.99), which I found very interesting because the heroine is blind and Crews did a good job of presenting lots of sensory perception from the heroine’s p-o-v, but no visual details. I do think the book works best if you first read Crews’s CHRISTMAS IN THE KING’S BED (also a $1.99 KDD today) because the h&h of HIS SCANDALOUS CHRISTMAS PRINCESS are secondary characters in that book and you get some background on their story. These books are both HPs, so prepare for angsty heartache ahead!

  4. Sarah Peach says:

I just recently read Need You Now and was definitely in the second camp when it came to the hero. I LOVE a grumpy hero and Brandon definitely came across as more of a jerk. Lilly by comparison is such a hard worker and so sweet that I really never felt like he measured up. :/ Hey, for $.99 though, find out for yourself!

  5. LML says:

What a Gentleman Wants was good fun. The hero was equally horrified by what his brother did and determined to do “the right thing”. The heroine was no pushover, either.

  6. MaryK says:

I just bought the Crews books in the sale so I’m glad to hear they’re recommended. I discovered Caroline Linden this year and am enjoying the heck out of her books.

  7. Arijo says:

I read Stripped, like, 10 days ago! While the hero was luscious – very much into the heroine and a bit vulnerable – I almost gave up at the beginning because the heroine was a mess with what seemed the worst work ethic. But I usually try to get through at least a third of a book before I DNF and it paid off here. Robyn grew on me, she owes up to her mistakes and was finally a good match for her stripper. It was fluffy, I enjoyed myself and I did love the friendships – both girls’ and guys’, as well as how the guys were presented.

I hope the rest of the series will eventually be on sale too, I’d love to read it ^^

  8. Lisa F says:

I really love Castille’s entire series TBH.

  9. MaryK says:

@Arijo – I DNF’d Stripped for the reason you described. I’ll take another look since it sounds like she improves. Thanks for mentioning it.

  10. Maria F says:

Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews is 2.99 on kindle right now. This is the most recent of the Hidden Legacy series, the second full-length book with Catalina.

  11. Laura Ann Klein says:

Unsolicated Cover Snark Alert– Stripped — that dude’s belly button is creeping me out; it’s gonna be an outie when he has his dad bod in a few years 😀

  12. Annie Kate says:

I really liked What a Gentleman Wants as an inversion of the reform-a-rake trope–instead of Hannah spending an entire book trying to turn a reckless manchild into an appropriate husband, she ends up with his brother, who is already a mature, responsible grown-ass man capable of acting as a real partner and helping her raise her kid. It’s refreshing. The plot does take a hard left turn into unnecessary silliness around the three-quarters mark, though.

  13. Carole says:

I had high hopes for Need You Now by Nicole Helm, but it was too angsty for my taste – both Hero and Heroine needed to be in therapy, for months, with the emotional baggage they carried. Disappointed – forced myself to finish the read and then toasted from my Ebook Library.
