Ink and Bone
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine is $1.99! This is the first book in the Great Library series, which Carrie has enjoyed. It’s about a great, magical library, which I know will perk up some readers’ ears. For those of you who don’t know, Rachel passed away over the weekend. Some sort of virtual memorial is slated to be announced.
In an exhilarating new series, New York Times bestselling author Rachel Caine rewrites history, creating a dangerous world where the Great Library of Alexandria has survived the test of time.…
Ruthless and supremely powerful, the Great Library is now a presence in every major city, governing the flow of knowledge to the masses. Alchemy allows the Library to deliver the content of the greatest works of history instantly—but the personal ownership of books is expressly forbidden.
Jess Brightwell believes in the value of the Library, but the majority of his knowledge comes from illegal books obtained by his family, who are involved in the thriving black market. Jess has been sent to be his family’s spy, but his loyalties are tested in the final months of his training to enter the Library’s service.
When his friend inadvertently commits heresy by creating a device that could change the world, Jess discovers that those who control the Great Library believe that knowledge is more valuable than any human life—and soon both heretics and books will burn…

About a Rogue
About a Rogue by Caroline Linden is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series by Linden and was a previous Hide Your Wallet pick. Catherine was excited for this one, especially because of the working class heroine. Have you read it?
The first book in the new series Desperately Seeking Duke from USA Today bestselling and RITA award-winning author Caroline Linden.
It’s no love match…
Bianca Tate is horrified when her sister Cathy is obliged to accept an offer of marriage from Maximilian St. James, notorious rake. Defiantly she helps Cathy elope with her true love, and takes her sister’s place at the altar.
It’s not even the match that was made…
Perched on the lowest branch of his family tree, Max has relied on charm and cunning to survive. But an unexpected stroke of luck gives him an outside chance at a dukedom—and which Tate sister he weds hardly seems to matter.
But could it be the perfect match?
Married or not, Bianca is determined to protect her family’s prosperous ceramics business, even when Max shows an affinity for it—not to mention a dangerous ability to intrigue and tempt Bianca herself. And when Max realizes how beautiful and intelligent and desirable Bianca is, he’ll have to prove he’s no rogue, but the passionately devoted husband she craves…

Nothing Compares to the Duke
Nothing Compares to the Duke by Christy Carlyle is $1.99! This is the third and final book in The Duke’s Den series. I believe we have featured the first two books on sale earlier this year, so now is a great time to finish out the trilogy. No word on what’s next for Carlyle, according to Goodreads.
Christy Carlyle concludes her Duke’s Den series with this sparkling romance about two reluctant allies intent on following the rules and breaking every single one.
His Only Regret…
Rhys Forester, the new Duke of Claremont, lives his life by four words: Enjoy All, Regret Nothing. He’s devoted to the pleasure of his wild soirees, reckless behavior, and shocking the ton with his interests in trade. The debts that come with his title don’t fit the carefree lifestyle he’s created, and when he’s forced to return to his family’s estate, he’s also forced to confront his one and only regret: the beautiful girl he left behind.
May Be Falling in Love…
Arabella Prescott has been the belle of more balls than she cares to remember. After three seasons and five rejected proposals, she’s done with the marriage mart. Bella’s hopes to live a comfortable life, alone, come crashing down when her parents demand she marry. But her salvation may come in the form of the man she hates the most.
Bella has never forgiven Rhys for what he did to her, but desperate times call for fake engagements. With a few dozen rules, their scheme begins, but it’s not long before the former enemies find themselves breaking every single rule, including the most important of them all: don’t fall in love…

Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line
Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line by Deepa Anappara is $1.99! This was a selection of mine in February 2020’s Hide Your Wallet. It received some great reviews in mainstream media. However, this mystery does deal with the disappearance of children, if that’s a particularly sensitive issue for you.
‘Djinns aren’t real, but if they were, they would only steal children because we have the most delicious souls’
Nine-year-old Jai watches too many reality police shows, thinks he’s smarter than his friend Pari (even though she always gets top marks) and considers himself to be a better boss than Faiz (even though Faiz is the one with a job). When a boy at school goes missing, Jai decides to use the crime-solving skills he has picked up from episodes of Police Patrol to find him. With Pari and Faiz by his side, Jai ventures into some of the most dangerous parts of the city; the bazaar at night, and even the railway station at the end of the Purple Line. But kids continue to vanish, and the trio must confront terrified parents, an indifferent police force and soul-snatching djinns in order to uncover the truth. When the fog of rumour rolls back, the detective game is no longer child’s play. And as the disappearances edge ever closer to home, the lives of Jai and his friends will never be the same again.
‘This story is a talisman. Hold it close to your hearts.’

Not a romance, but Muriel Spark’s THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE—which is a story about dismantling the cult of personality, cleverly disguised as an “us-versus-them” dynamic in an English girls boarding school—is a $1.99 KDD today. Highly recommended.
Orchid by Jayne Castle (Jayne Ann Krentz) is 1.99 on Amazon. Not sure about other places or how long it will last.
I was just reading Rachel Caine updates on Twitter last week. This is so sad.
I highly recommend the Caroline Linden. The heroine calms down after the first or second chapter and the hero is a delightful study in patience.
I’m having the same comment problem others have mentioned, not showing up for a long time. This is the first it’s happened to me. Also, no like buttons.
The audiobook of About a Rogue by Caroline Linden is only $3.99 on chirpbooks.com!
@DDD – I love TPOMJB! Such a good novel!
I also agree with everyone’s comments that the Linden is amazing!
