Slightly Married

Slightly Married by Mary Balogh is $2.99! This is the first book in the Bedwyn Saga, which is a favorite amongst romance readers. Though Balogh’s newer historicals haven’t really worked for me, I’m curious about this one. Have you read it?
Meet the Bedwyns…six brothers and sisters—men and women of passion and privilege, daring and sensuality…Enter their dazzling world of high society and breathtaking seduction…where each will seek love, fight temptation, and court scandal…and where Aidan Bedwyn, the marriage-shy second son, discovers that matrimony may be the most seductive act of all.…
Like all the Bedwyn men, Aidan has a reputation for cool arrogance. But this proud nobleman also possesses a loyal, passionate heart—and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought Colonel Lord Aidan to Ringwood Manor to honor a dying soldier’s request. Having promised to comfort and protect the man’s sister, Aidan never expected to find a headstrong, fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protection…nor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart. And when a relative threatens to turn Eve out of her home, Aidan gallantly makes her an offer she can’t refuse: marry him…if only to save her home. And now, as all of London breathlessly awaits the transformation of the new Lady Aidan Bedwyn, the strangest thing happens: With one touch, one searing embrace, Aidan and Eve’s “business arrangement” is about to be transformed…into something slightly surprising.

The Tycoon’s Socialite Bride by Tracey Livesay is $2.99! This is a contemporary category romance and the first book in the In Love with a Tycoon series. Readers loved the modern marriage of convenience story. However, some reviewers wanted more momentum in the story. The next book is also on sale.
To avenge his mother’s mistreatment at the hands of her upper-crust employer, self-made real estate tycoon Marcus Pearson needs entree into their exclusive world. When D.C. socialite Pamela Harrington comes to him for help, Marcus realizes the golden admission ticket he’s been seeking has suddenly fallen into his lap.
Pamela will do anything to save her favorite cause, even agree to a marriage of convenience. The altruistic “it-girl” isn’t worried about the pretend passion with Marcus turning real; she’s sworn off powerful, driven men who use her for her family’s connections.
So she’ll deny the way her pulse races with one look from his crystalline blue eyes. And he’ll ignore the way his body throbs with each kiss from her full lips. Because there’s no way he’ll lose his blue-collar heart to the blue-blooded beauty.

Arctic Sun by Annabeth Albert is $1.99! This is a relatively recent release and features an opposites attract romance. Fans of Albert say this one has a slower burn of a romance than Albert’s usual stuff and content warning for disordered eating and discussion of sobriety.
Everything’s bigger in Alaska, especially the HEAs. Annabeth Albert kicks off the brand-new Frozen Hearts series with Arctic Sun, an opposites-attract romance between a rugged outdoorsman and a smoking hot former male model.
He’s built a quiet life for himself in Alaska. But it doesn’t stand a chance against the unrelenting pull of a man who’s everything he shouldn’t want.
Ex-military mountain man Griffin Barrett likes his solitude. It keeps him from falling back into old habits. Bad habits. He’s fought too hard for his sobriety to lose control now. However, his gig as a wildlife guide presents a new kind of temptation in superhot supermodel River Vale. Nothing the Alaskan wilderness has to offer has ever called to Griffin so badly. And that can only lead to trouble…
River has his own methods for coping. Chasing adventure means always moving forward. Nobody’s ever made him want to stand still—until Griffin. The rugged bush pilot is the very best kind of distraction, but the emotions he stirs up in River feel anything but casual, and he’s in no position to stay put.
With temptation lurking in close quarters, keeping even a shred of distance is a challenge neither’s willing to meet. And the closer Griffin gets to River, the easier it is to ignore every last reason he should run.

I read all the ‘Slightly’ books yonks ago and am happy to see this one come up. Also one-clicked the Alaska book. The TBR gets deeper. 🙂
I love recent Mary Balogh. Some of her older books are misses for me. I loved Slightly Married, but the next book in the series, Slightly Wicked, infuriated me and I DNFd it.
I enjoyed most of the Bedwyn series except the vengeful Frenchman one. I haven’t been able to get into the new Westcott series, though enjoyed Survivors as I have a soft spot for soldiers. Aiden in this book is a darling.
Slightly Married is hands down my favorite of the Bedwyn series, and one of my all time favorite Balogh books. I’ve probably read it half a dozen times. I love a stoic grumpy hero!
Slightly married and Slightly scandalous are my favourite Mary Balogh books. The others in the series were a bit hit and miss for me and I never felt the inclination to reread them as I did those two. At one point, I read a lot of Mary Balogh but not for a long time now. I’d really like to get my hands on an electronic version of Slightly scandalous but unfortunately it’s not available for kindle in the UK, so I have to wait…
I love the Albert (and I have been waiting for that cake book to go on sale, yoinking!).
I like Slightly Scandalous and Slightly Dangerous. (And, I guess, the related Summer to Remember, which introduced the Bedwyns in the first place.)
I do not like the other books in this series, though certainly I’ve read them. Balogh’s kind of hit-or-miss for me, but somehow I keep buying them.
I am currently in the midst of the Bedwyn series! (I’ve read the first four, plus the prequel A Summer to Remember.) I liked Slightly Married quite a bit, didn’t really care for Slightly Wicked, but then LOVED Slightly Scandalous and Slightly Tempted! So I’m very excited to get to the final two books now!
I actually love the Bedywn series and this one is definitely a good one. I skipped the next couple but on the whole, it’s a series you can stuck into! The Bedwyn saga is “linked” to the Survivor and the Simply series – it’s kind of nice having a large universe of characters to follow and see how their lives turn out.
A summer to remember and slightly married are my two favourite balogh’s. I didn’t like the rest of the series but I especially hated slightly dangerous because I couldn’t stand the heroine. Some of her antics were silly and her self deprecating manner had me rolling my eyes. A shame really because I did find Wulfric to be compelling in all the books except for his own(Slightly Dangerous).
