  • A Princess in Theory

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole is $3.99! This is the first book in her Reluctant Royals series and this seems to be a series that just keeps getting better with its books. Many readers loved how Alyssa writes consent, agency, and all sorts of other awesome and empowering things. However, some warn that this book takes several chapters to get into the swing of things.

From acclaimed author Alyssa Cole comes the tale of a city Cinderella and her Prince Charming in disguise . . .

Between grad school and multiple jobs, Naledi Smith doesn’t have time for fairy tales…or patience for the constant e-mails claiming she’s betrothed to an African prince. Sure. Right. Delete! As a former foster kid, she’s learned that the only things she can depend on are herself and the scientific method, and a silly e-mail won’t convince her otherwise.

Prince Thabiso is the sole heir to the throne of Thesolo, shouldering the hopes of his parents and his people. At the top of their list? His marriage. Ever dutiful, he tracks down his missing betrothed. When Naledi mistakes the prince for a pauper, Thabiso can’t resist the chance to experience life—and love—without the burden of his crown.

The chemistry between them is instant and irresistible, and flirty friendship quickly evolves into passionate nights. But when the truth is revealed, can a princess in theory become a princess ever after?

  • All I Am

All I Am by Nicole Helm

All I Am by Nicole Helm is $3.99! This is the second book in the Farmers’ Market Storyseries. The hero is a shy, reclusive veteran who makes doggie treats, and the heroine is more sexually experienced than he his. I bought this one when we’ve previously featured it on sale.

Everything she is. Everything he’s not…

Recovering from his time in Afghanistan, Wes Stone prefers the company of his dogs and himself. People, especially of the female variety, are…difficult. He appreciates that Cara Pruitt doesn’t treat him like an invalid, but hiring the party girl of New Benton to help out with his dog treat business is probably a mistake. And when her brightness and unexpected vulnerability somehow slip through his defenses, suddenly something terrifying is ignited inside him. Something thrilling. Something that could make Wes whole again…or consume him completely.

  • It Started with a Scandal

It Started with a Scandal by Julie Anne Long

It Started With a Scandal by Julie Anne Long is $3.99! This is book 10 in the Pennyroyal Green series, which is a superb historical series that mixes small town dynamics with the Regency – and two feuding families that like to score points off one another. Sarah’s read this series and thinks reading them out of order is fine!

Lord Philippe Lavay once took to the high seas armed with charm as lethal as his sword and a stone-cold conviction: he’ll restore his family’s fortune and honor, no matter the cost. Victory is at last within reach–when a brutal attack snatches it from his grasp and lands him in Pennyroyal Green.

An afternoon of bliss brings a cascade of consequences for Elise Fountain. Shunned by her family and ousted from a job she loves, survival means a plummet down the social ladder to a position no woman has yet been able to keep: housekeeper to a frighteningly formidable prince.

The bold and gentle Elise sees past his battered body into Philippe’s barricaded heart…and her innate sensuality ignites his blood. Now a man who thought he could never love and a woman who thought she would never again trust must fight an incendiary passion that could be the ruin of them both.

  • One-Eyed Dukes Are Wild

One-Eyed Dukes Are Wild by Megan Frampton

One-Eyed Dukes Are Wild by Megan Frampton is $3.99! When this book first came out, there were a lot of penis jokes made around SBTB HQ. Some readers felt the book lacked any real conflict, while many loved the heroine’s confidence. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads and is the third book in the Dukes Behaving Badly series.

When does proper behavior deserve a deliciously improper reward?

The scandalously unmarried Lady Margaret Sawford is looking for adventure—and is always up for a challenge. Her curiosity is aroused by a dangerous-looking stranger with an eye patch, an ideal companion for the life she longs for, no matter what Society might say. So when the piratical gentleman turns out to be a duke—and just as boringly proper as any other nobleman—she can’t help but incite him to walk on the wild side.

Well-heeled, well-mannered, and well beyond any interest in society’s expectations, the Duke of Lasham is tired of being perfect. Margaret’s lush beauty and gently laughing eyes are an irresistible temptation to embrace the imperfect—and her. But if a little misbehavior is appealing, unleashing his wild side is completely seductive—as long as the lovely Margaret is the object of his passion . . .

The Helm was quite enjoyable, and I enjoyed the whole series.

  3. Antipodean Shenanigans says:

I loved All I Am. Pretty low angst and conflict, but still engaging. The hero and heroine are precious cinnamon rolls.
