Chaos Reigning
Chaos Reigning by Jessie Mihalik is $1.99! This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals and Ellen reviewed it, giving it a B-:
I think if you have enjoyed the series overall this is a worthwhile read, but I wish my expectations had not been so high coming off the second book.
Interplanetary intrigue and romance combine in this electrifying finale to the Consortium Rebellion series.
As the youngest member of her High House, Catarina von Hasenberg is used to being underestimated, but her youth and flighty, bubbly personality mask a clever mind and stubborn determination. Her enemies, blind to her true strength, do not suspect that Cat is a spy—which makes her the perfect candidate to go undercover at a rival House’s summer retreat to gather intelligence on their recent treachery.
Cat’s overprotective older sister reluctantly agrees, but on one condition: Cat cannot go alone. Alexander Sterling, a quiet, gorgeous bodyguard, will accompany her, posing as her lover. After Cat tries, and fails, to ditch Alex, she grudgingly agrees, confident in her ability to manage him. After all, she’s never found a person she can’t manipulate.
But Alex proves more difficult—and more desirable—than Cat anticipated. When she’s attacked and nearly killed, she and Alex are forced to work together to figure out how deep the treason goes. With rumors of widespread assaults on Serenity raging, communications down, and the rest of her family trapped off-planet, Catarina must persuade Alex to return to Earth to expose the truth and finish this deadly battle once and for all.
But Cat can’t explain why she’s the perfect person to infiltrate hostile territory without revealing secrets she’d rather keep buried. . .

Marrying Winterborne
Marrying Winterbourne by Lisa Kleypas is $2.99! Elyse gave it a B- in a Lightning Review, saying it was good but not Kleypas-good:
Marrying Winterborne was a little bit of a disappointment because I expect SO MUCH from a Kleypas novel, but somehow also compulsively readable. It’s the direct sequel to Cold-Hearted Rake and best read after that book in order to provide context.
A ruthless tycoon
Savage ambition has brought common-born Rhys Winterborne vast wealth and success. In business and beyond, Rhys gets exactly what he wants. And from the moment he meets the shy, aristocratic Lady Helen Ravenel, he is determined to possess her. If he must take her virtue to ensure she marries him, so much the better…
A sheltered beauty
Helen has had little contact with the glittering, cynical world of London society. Yet Rhys’s determined seduction awakens an intense mutual passion. Helen’s gentle upbringing belies a stubborn conviction that only she can tame her unruly husband. As Rhys’s enemies conspire against them, Helen must trust him with her darkest secret. The risks are unthinkable…the reward, a lifetime of incomparable bliss. And it all begins with…
Marrying Mr. Winterborne.

To Surrender to a Rogue
To Surrender to a Rogue by Cara Elliot is $1.99! This is the second book in the Circle of Sin series, though I believe it works on its own. Many readers were excited about the Bath setting and the antiquities expert heroine, but others found it to be surprisingly boring.
An expert in antiquities, Lady Alessandra della Giamatti arrives in Bath to excavate newly discovered Roman ruins-only to find herself caught in a web of evil intrigue by a blackmailer threatening to expose her scandalous past. The one man who can help her is Lord James “Black Jack” Pierson, a fellow member of the expedition and a sinfully handsome rogue whose tempting presence ignites a different sort of danger.
Jack has clashed with Alessandra in the past, so when she suddenly surrenders her body he can’t help being suspicious. Is she a scheming temptress? Or is she truly a lady in trouble? As desire and deceptions swirl around them, Alessandra and Jack must find a way to win each other’s trust. For if they don’t work together to uncover a shocking truth, their enemy-and their own simmering passions-may destroy them and everything they cherish.

The Princess Plan
The Princess Plan by Julia London is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series by London and I gave it a B-:
The characterization is there and romance readers will delight in the snark-fest, though the romantic resolution doesn’t feel fully realized with all the extra plot threads weighing it down.
Princes have pomp and glory—not crushes on commoners.
Nothing gets the tongues of London’s high society wagging like a good scandal. And when the personal secretary of the visiting Prince Sebastian of Alucia is found murdered, it’s all anyone can talk about, including Eliza Tricklebank. Her unapologetic gossip gazette has benefited from an anonymous tip about the crime, prompting Sebastian to take an interest in playing detective—and an even greater interest in Eliza.
With a trade deal on the line and mounting pressure to secure a noble bride, there’s nothing more salacious than a prince dallying with a commoner. Sebastian finds Eliza’s contrary manner as frustrating as it is seductive, but they’ll have to work together if they’re going to catch the culprit. And when things heat up behind closed doors, it’s the prince who’ll have to decide what comes first—his country or his heart.

THE PURSUITS OF LORD KIT CAVANAUGH by Stephanie Laurens is $1.99 on Amazon.
THE GIRL WITH THE MAKE-BELIEVE HUSBAND by Julia Quinn is 2.99 on Amazon.
Both seem well-reviewed.
THE WINTER COMPANION by Mimi Matthews is $0.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. This is the fourth book in the Parish Orphans of Devon series. Looks like the third book, A CONVENIENT FICTION, is also $0.99 as a limited-time deal at Amazon, but that doesn’t appear to be matched elsewhere, unfortunately!
The first books of Rachel Caine’s various series are on sale right now. I saw a post by her friend, P.N
Elrod, stating that she is now in hospice care.

I REALLY enjoyed the Consortium Rebellion series, first space romance I’ve read and I loved the adventure. Anyone have suggestions for other space-y romances?
@Kristina, some titles to consider:
Dark Horse (Class 5 Series Book 1) by Michelle Diener plus sequels
The Claimings series by Lyn Gala (This is m/m.)
Heavy on the space with a whisper of romance: Lines men by SK Dunstall.
Hmmph, that should be Linesman by SK Dunstall.
@Kristina, Ann Aguirre has the Sirantha Jax series and the Dred Chronicles. They’re both spacey series with strong female leads and some romance.
@Kristina, there’s also the Endeavor series by Amanda Bouchet (2 of the trilogy are out).
