  • Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts

Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia

Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia is $2.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal, which features some romance as well! This one reminded me a lot of The Westing Game and was a ton of fun, if you’re in the mood for light reading that sets a great pace.

A handsome stranger. A dead billionaire. A citywide treasure hunt. Tuesday Mooney’s life is about to change…forevermore.

Tuesday Mooney is a loner. She keeps to herself, begrudgingly socializes, and spends much of her time watching old Twin Peaks and X-Files DVDs. But when Vincent Pryce, Boston’s most eccentric billionaire, dies—leaving behind an epic treasure hunt through the city, with clues inspired by his hero, Edgar Allan Poe—Tuesday’s adventure finally begins.

Puzzle-loving Tuesday searches for clue after clue, joined by a ragtag crew: a wisecracking friend, an adoring teen neighbor, and a handsome, cagey young heir. The hunt tests their mettle, and with other teams from around the city also vying for the promised prize—a share of Pryce’s immense wealth—they must move quickly. Pryce’s clues can’t be cracked with sharp wit alone; the searchers must summon the courage to face painful ghosts from their pasts (some more vivid than others) and discover their most guarded desires and dreams.

A deliciously funny ode to imagination, overflowing with love letters to art, from The Westing Game to Madonna to the Knights of the Round Table, Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts is the perfect read for thrill seekers, wanderers, word lovers, and anyone looking for an escape to the extraordinary.

  • Delicious Temptation

    Delicious Temptation by Sabrina Sol

Delicious Temptation by Sabrina Sol is 99c! This is the first book in the Delicious Desires series. A few readers mentioned that the characters felt much younger to them, while others enjoyed Sol’s writing style as a new-to-them author. Have you read this one?

Amara Maria Robles is a good girl. So good that she gave up her dreams of becoming a renowned pastry chef to help her parents with their struggling Mexican bakery. Yet her parents reject any changes she suggests, and refuse to sell her mouth-watering confections. Clearly being a good girl isn’t paying off. So when her brother’s sexy ex-best friend walks into the bakery, Amara’s tempted to be very bad indeed…

After a scandal twelve years ago, resident bad boy Eric Valencia has returned to make things right with his family and friends. One glance at Amara and her wicked curves, however, and Eric finds himself thinking about how she’d feel beneath him—something he promised Amara’s brother he would never think about, let alone do.

But this bad boy is in deep trouble…because Amara’s determined to have her cake, and Eric, too.

  • Confessions of a Royal Bridegroom

Confessions of a Royal Bridegroom by Vanessa Kelly

Confessions of a Royal Bridegroom by Vanessa Kelly is $1.99! This is the second book in her Renegade Royals series, and has a 3.8-star average. You can grab the third book for the same price!

They are the Renegade Royals, illegitimate sons of the Royal Princes, each finding his rightful place in society–and the woman destined to be his perfect match. . .

Some men are born into scandal. Others pursue it with a passion. Griffin Steele, secret son of the Duke of Cumberland, is guilty on both counts. Yet somehow London’s most notorious scoundrel has been saddled with an abandoned baby boy–and with the unflappable, intriguing spinster summoned to nurse him. . .

Justine Brightmore may be a viscount’s niece, but she’s also a spy’s daughter, determined to safeguard the infant when his suspected royal parentage makes him a target. Yet how to protect herself from the rakish Griffin? Marriage might shield her reputation, but it can only imperil her heart, especially with a groom intent on delicious seduction. . .

  • Fated

    Fated by Rebecca Zanetti

Fated by Rebecca Zanetti is $2.99 at Amazon! This is a paranormal romance with what seems to be a marriage of convenience trope. Some readers thought the plot was a but over the top, while others said they couldn’t put this one down. It’s the first book in the Dark Protectors series and has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads. If you’re looking to collect the series, a couple others are also on sale.

    Marry Me

Cara Paulsen does not give up easily. A scientist and a single mother, she’s used to fighting for what she wants, keeping a cool head, and doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter Janie. But “whatever it takes” has never before included a shotgun wedding to a dangerous-looking stranger with an attitude problem…

    Or Else

Sure, the mysterious Talen says that he’s there to protect Cara and Janie. He also says that he’s a three-hundred-year-old vampire. Of course, the way he touches her, Cara might actually believe he’s had that long to practice…

  1. Carrie G says:

HEAVEN AND EARTH, the second book of the Three Sisters Island trilogy by Nora Roberts is $1.99 on Amazon. The first book is still $2.99.

A LADY’S GUIDE TO ETIQUETTE AND MURDER by Dianne Freeman is $1.99 on Amazon. I read this a while back and thought it was a nice historical cozy mystery with a touch of romance. The subsequent two books seem a little expensive to me so I didn’t continue the series.

  2. SusanH says:

@Carrie G – Thank you for the Heaven and Earth heads-up! That series is one of my top comfort reads, even though I’m not sure it’s really one of her best series. Comfort reads are funny things. I’ve been wanting to have digital copies for a long time, but can’t really justify full price when I have the novels on my shelf.

  3. Escapeologist says:

Tuesday Mooney sounds fun! The blurb reminds me of the Book Scavenger, if anyone else is in the mood for middle grade mystery today.

  4. Darlynne says:

I loved TUESDAY MOONEY for the same reasons, Amanda. So much desperately welcome fun, but not all fun and games. Highly recommended.

For Elizabeth Cadell fans, her SUGAR CANDY COTTAGE is on sale at Amazon US today for .99 (practically unheard of). Charming and old-fashioned mysteries.

  5. Lina says:

Thanks for the Sabrina Sol mention. I’m always looking for Latina Contemporary reads !

  6. Empress of Blandings says:

Ah, that Rebecca Zanetti book. I started it thinking ‘ooh, I like a slightly overbearing hero’ then hoped afterwards to forget its existence. But no. It just keeps re-appearing.

The heroine is meant to be strong-willed but basically does whatever the (very small ‘h’) hero says, and if she dares to have a different opinion he becomes a patronising, controlling (literally), bullying arsehole. Well, even more of a patronising, controlling, bullying arsehole. He marks her with a tattoo. On her bum. Without her consent. He tags her with a GPS. If you worked with her you’d be wallpapering every notice board and loo door with abuse helpline numbers. So, that was my feeling about this book.

Also, the author went on Goodreads and gave herself five stars.

    Elizabeth Cadell is nice though.

  7. MaryK says:

A lot of authors give themselves 5 star reviews on Goodreads. When I’m scrolling through reviews and see that, it feels like an intrusion into the reader’s space. When you’re trying to get opinions about an author’s work and come “face to face” with the author, it’s off-putting.

  8. JenC says:

THE HEIR AFFAIR is 3.99 today at Amazon.

  9. Ellie says:

I went to buy Tuesday Mooney this afternoon, and realized I had bought it in January. So I finally sat down and read it and it is fabulous. And her book Bellweather Rhapsody is also on sale, for $2.99. Click click buy.

  10. LML says:

THANK YOU, Darlynne. Elizabeth Cadell’s books soothe me when I am at odds with the world.
