Forever and a Duke

Forever and a Duke by Grace Burrowes is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and features a heroine who’s good with numbers. Readers really liked her, but found there was too much plot and too many additional POVs. Have you read this one?
A duke meets his match in the last place he’d ever expect in this charming Regency romance by the New York Times bestselling author of My One and Only Duke.
Wrexham, Duke of Elsmore, is overrun by family obligations. With three sisters to escort about Town, a legion of cousins to look after, and aunties who insist he dance with every eligible young woman, he barely has time to manage his dukedom. When he finally carves out a moment to evaluate his family’s finances, he learns that he―and his sisters―are on the verge of social catastrophe.
Eleanora Hatfield has an uncanny knack for numbers, but she knows from experience that dealing with the peerage can only lead to problems. Though she wants nothing to do with any titled gentleman, she reluctantly agrees to help when Rex seeks aid from her employer. What starts out as an unwanted assignment soon leads to forbidden kisses and impossible longings. But with scandal haunting Ellie’s past and looming in Rex’s future, how can true love lead to anything but heartbreak?

A Secret History of Witches by Louisa Morgan is $3.99! This is historical fiction with some fantasy and generational saga elements. Morgan does a lot of witch-centric fiction if that’s your jam! I’m super curious about this one, but I’m usually iffy on generational stuff.
A sweeping historical saga that traces five generations of fiercely powerful mothers and daughters – witches whose magical inheritance is both a dangerous threat and an extraordinary gift.
Brittany, 1821. After Grand-mere Ursule gives her life to save her family, their magic seems to die with her.
Even so, the Orchieres fight to keep the old ways alive, practicing half-remembered spells and arcane rites in hopes of a revival. And when their youngest daughter comes of age, magic flows anew. The lineage continues, though new generations struggle not only to master their power, but also to keep it hidden.
But when World War II looms on the horizon, magic is needed more urgently than ever – not for simple potions or visions, but to change the entire course of history.

How to Ravish a Rake by Vicky Dreiling is $1.99! This is a historical romance with a wallflower and some library sexy times according to the book description. This is part of a series and the main characters are prominent side characters in earlier books, but this should be fine as a standalone.
SCANDALOUS DESIRES . . .
Amy Hardwick has one last Season to shake off her wallflower image and make a love match. If she can’t, she’ll set aside her dreams of romance and return home to a suitor who can provide security-if little else. What she doesn’t count on is the inappropriate-and irresistible-attention lavished on her in a darkened library by rake extraordinaire Will “The Devil” Darcett . . .
DEVILISH DELIGHT
When Will is caught in a tryst with the ton’s shyest miss, he knows he must offer for her hand. Yet Amy is not the shrinking violet she seems to be. Passion lies beneath her prim exterior and Will is eager to release it. But winning Amy isn’t simply a matter of seduction; first, Will must convince her that he’s mended his wicked ways . . .

With Every Breath by Lia Riley is 99c! This is a new adult romance where the hero and heroine are hiking in Patagonia. I liked this one and was sad to see the series didn’t continue. In terms of backstory, I found the hero’s reasoning for his hike to be more compelling than the heroine’s
BREATHE DEEP . . . AND JUMP IN
At the ends of the earth, Patagonia is a land where ambition trumps reason and the savage summit of La Aguja lures the most determined climbers. It’s also the last spot a “play-it-safe girl” like Auden Woods expects to find herself. But she’ll lace up her brand-new hiking boots and do whatever it takes to secure a dream job at an adventure magazine . . . even if it kills her. And it just might. When disaster strikes, her only chance at survival comes in the form of the surliest, sexiest mountaineer ever to come out of Scotland. After a climbing accident cost him his brother, professional mountaineer Rhys MacAskill is at the end of his rope. Redemption is not in his future. That is, until a terrifying storm blows a budding journalist into his tent and it’s up to him to make sure they both survive until morning. Despite the demons weighing on him, Rhys can’t resist the temptation of the charming American and one wild night just isn’t enough.
Auden and Rhys soon learn there are no shortcuts as they navigate their way between life, death, and atonement, and discover something they never expected—love.

I finally broke down and went to Amazon prepared to spend full price for AURORA BLAZING — to find that it’s marked down to $1.99 today! An actual GOOD thing that happened, for a change!
A friend once went on a trip to Patagonia. When I asked her why there, she said it was as far from home as she could get on the money she had.
A surly, sexy Scot? Sounds like the answer to the painful case of Murtaugh withdrawal that started 10 days ago.
Two books that I’ve been dying to read on sale today! So excited for Aurora Blazing so thanks to arielibra! Also been thinking about Forever and a Duke for awhile, so glad I waited (and checked SBTB today!).
I have seen so many horrible historical covers lately that ‘How to Ravish a Rake’ struck me as notably good. Great dress, good-looking people who appear genuinely interested in each other, nobody has extra arms. For that, and alleged library sexytimes, I’ll give it a go.
Loved the Burrowes book!
