  1. Ruth Anderson says:

2019 was pretty stressful and I listened to a lot of Cabin Pressure (over and over) to help decompress. Never gets old!

  2. Taylor says:

The radio! This hasn’t been the year for coordinating the digital things 🙂

  3. Chris Alexander says:

My favorite audiobook this year was listening to Andi Arnt and Sebastian York narrate BIRTHDAY SUIT by Lauren Blakely. The story was really enjoyable and I could listen to Sebastian York read the phone book.

  4. Alexandra says:

NPR politics and I am always in progress on a Great Lecture audiobook! Right now it’s the Science of Mindfulness.

  5. Cora says:

I tend to listen to podcasts or audio books on the way to work (driving or if pushed puvlic transport). Have set my self the ambition of listening to all the psy changeling novels. So far im up to book 6.

  6. Cassandra B. says:

  7. Stacey says:

    Cute!
THis year I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks thanks to my library’s Hoopla service. It’s been a mix of YA and nonfiction.

  8. Suzanne says:

I have really gotten into audiobooks this year. My hands down favorite was Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid. Now I just need to stop channeling Dan – my family isn’t used to me saying the F word so often.

  9. Lauren Katzive says:

Enjoyed Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime on audio.

  10. Kael says:

I’ve really enjoyed King Falls AM, which has definitely grown over the past year. The story growing more complex and touching, and I can’t wait to see where they go next year.

Another good podcast is Delete This, for when you want to laugh about Twitter.

  11. Lynnd says:

I have really enjoyed listening to podcasts while I’m working out, and listening to audiobooks while I’m knitting.

  12. Bonnie says:

I’ve gotten into podcasts more this year. My favorite is Thick Thighs Save Lives. I also always love listening to any of the Dresden Files audiobooks

  13. Abbie says:

I listen to tons of podcasts while working around the house, or running errands. Favorites include – SPTB (of course), Heaving Bosoms, Fated Mates and Wicked Wallflowers. I also love the NPR politics podcast and Pop Culture Happy Hour.

  14. Angelique says:

I listen to a lot of podcasts! My favorite discovery of this year is “ologies” hosted by Alie Ward. And just a few days ago I listened to all the episodes of “Cautionary Tales” that are out right now.

Thank you for the giveaway. Happy Hanukkah!

  15. Lina says:

I really enjoyed the Public Library Podcasts and the Smart Bitches Pod Casts. But my favorite thing to listen to is audible books … anything by Sherry Thomas or The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.

  16. Jane Drew says:

    “The Adventure Zone” podcast!

  17. Rebecca W. says:

I’ve loved listening to like, all, of the podcasts hosted by Lindsay Graham (no, not the senator!) – American History Tellers, American Scandal, and American Elections: Wicked Games. So interesting!

I’ve also loved listening to Ian Doescher’s audiobooks – the Shakespeare Star Wars series and the Shakespeare Back to the Future. Have also loved listening to Emma Chase’s “Getting Schooled” and “Getting Played”!

  18. Cat C says:

Podcasts while I walk to work or to the grocery store. I have several favs, including SPTB and ThirstAidKit (which I think many SPTB listeners may enjoy)!

  19. Jennifer Kirschbaum says:

This year my favorite listens were the Bear Brook podcast (NH true crime!) and Ready Player One read by Wil Wheaton. Both were excellent !

  20. sandra says:

My favorite podcast this year was Potterless. It’s a very fun look at the Harry Potter books and movies

  21. Ashley M. says:

I started listening to a Star Wars podcast. There was a huge change a few years ago where everything that was Star Wars canon suddenly wasn’t, so a few friends and Star Wars lovers started a podcast where they go through and read and watch the new canon Star Wars stuff and discuss it. It’s called the Star Wars New Canon Book Club, and it’s great. I like all the lore stuff and they’re fun to listen to, even if I don’t agree with their takes on some things. They’re pretty much the only podcast I’ve managed to stick with.

  22. Jas says:

I have listened to so many amazing things this year. Great podcasts like SPTB, Rmbkpod, and Read Me Romance. Also too many audiobooks to list so I will just mention the last one I finished Get A Life Chloe Brown.

  23. Lauren Katzive says:

Enjoyed Born a Crime by trevor Noah and several short pieces.

  24. Stacy says:

I’ve been enjoying Audible Escape very much

  25. Quidnunc says:

I mainly listen to non-fiction, usually lectures from The Great Courses or The Modern Scholar lectures on history or linguistics. Aside from that I really loved Bad Blood. It’s a great tale of bad management practices with a good narrator. I prefer to physically read fiction.

  26. Katie says:

I got completely caught up on the podcast My Favorite Murder!

  27. Maureen Long says:

Rebecca Roanhorse’s “Star Wars: Resistance Reborn” and Talia Hibbert’s “Get a Life, Chloe Brown” were my favourite audiobooks this year. Happy Holidays to all!

  28. Nettle says:

Johannesburg Cabal and the Blustery Day, by Jonathan L Howard. A great set of short stories about a cranky necromancer’s adventures.

  29. Jen M says:

Not romance, but I really enjoyed “Because Internet” by Gretchen McCulloch, read by the author. She talks about the language of the internet, and very impressively pronounces a keysmash! Very funny and interesting.

  30. SQ says:

Well, other than Smart Bitches of course, I’ve been fully indoctrinated into the Heaving Bosoms Podcast cult!

  31. Harmonyb says:

I listened to over 140 audiobooks this year, but I also discovered several great podcasts. Some days it’s hard to decide which gets my attention. My poor music playlists probably feel neglected.

  32. Vicki says:

I am loving listening to Audio Digest in my car or in the evenings. The Pediatric one. Lectures full of useful and interesting things.

Oh, and my playlist on Spotify.

  33. Shana says:

I’ve been trying various podcasts via Spotify during my commute.

I do have to choose wisely, however, as you do get strange and worried looks when you respond aloud to something by cackling, or giggling, or growling in frustration.

For books, Aiden Snow’s narration of A.E. Via’s Nothing Special Series is amazing.

  34. Aly P says:

I listened to audiobooks of Nora Roberts stand alones. They have really good narrators

  35. TaraR says:

I just started listening to Serial and I’m hooked!

  36. DeeinID says:

I’ve gotten back into audiobooks and NPR podcasts.

  37. Aly P says:

I love listening to Nora Roberts audiobooks , her stand alones. She always has amazing narrators

  38. Deborah says:

Here is where I confess that I read the SBTB podcast (thanks for the transcripts, patrons + Garlic Knitter!) unless it’s Sarah chatting with the other site staff. Those episodes I listen to.

Currently, I’m listening to The Adventure Zone podcast.

If I loved reading a book and the narration is well done, I can listen to the same audiobook…well, as frequently as I re-read the text version!! I’m a huge fan of the narration for Lucy Parker’s ACT LIKE IT, and I love Mary Jane Wells’ work on the Ravenels series. Oh, how I wish she had done Devil in Winter.

  39. Mandy Aguilar says:

I listened to a lot of audiobooks this year, and hands down the best performance was THE POET X, read by the author, Elizabeth Acevedo. A powerhouse book read by a legit powerhouse.

  40. Karin says:

I listen to the SBTB podcasts either in my car, or when I’m out taking walks. Thanks for the chance to win a prize!
