Podcasts! I’ll add Planet Money to the list here.

  2. Stefka says:

I gifted myself an iPad this year and finally started using the Libby app to access audiobooks. My favorite one so far is The Kiss Quotient- this book is well-deserving of the praise It has received. I’m just beginning to dip my toe into the world of podcasts.

  3. Paula Pergament says:

Ohh so many! Learning the Tropes and Fated Mates for everything Romancelandia. Still Processing for brilliant insights on our cultural now and how we got here. Perceived Value about makers of jewelry and accessories that reminds us how making things by hand is something to treasure even in these times when technology is prevalent.

  4. Joni says:

I moved so that my commute is now about 45 minutes each way, and as a result I’ve finally gotten into listening to audiobooks. Right now I’m mostly focusing on audiobooks I’ve read before, so I’m working my way through Ilona Andrew’s backlist, and frankly, some days my commute is one of the best parts of my day.

  5. Cheryl Rosbak says:

I want to recommend the fiction podcast Passenger List, starring Kelly Marie Tran, Colin Morgan, and a bunch of other voices you’ll recognize. There’s a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a trans-Atlantic flight that Tran’s brother was on, and she won’t give up until she figures out what really happened.

It’s solid storytelling and brilliant voice acting.

  6. Kim says:

I’ve started listening to podcasts during my commute

  7. Melissa says:

I love podcasts, and I’ve particularly gotten hooked on Dungeons & Daddies (“A Sometimes BDSM Podcast,” LOL). It’s a Dungeons & Dragons podcasts about soccer dads who get stuck in a fantasy world. I have had to stifle so many laughs while listening to it at work.

  8. Cristie says:

Just started listening to audiobooks this year so I’ve enjoyed listening to the performances of some of my favorite books.

  9. Hillary617 says:

Audio books have been a must for a long time. I’ll listen to a book because of the author, the narrator, or the topic. Bliss is when I have all three!

  10. Katie K says:

I listen to more music than podcasts, but I do enjoy the NPR ones and the occasional murder-mystery.

  11. Joy says:

I just got a pair of Echo Dots and love listening to audiobooks or classical music or whatever I fancy at the moment. I have one in my living room and one by the bed. I fell asleep last night listening to Winter Soltice IV by Wyndham Hill–beautiful instrumental music.

  12. M L says:

I love listening to your podcast and Comic Book Nation podcast for pop culture. I also love audiobooks – Ilona Andrews, J. D Robb, Donna Andrews, David Rosenfelt book.

  13. genie says:

I can’t listen to anything that requires attention at work, so I pretty much just have random music playing all day – right now it’s early baroque and rennaisance music, because words in songs would be too distracting. But I’m also digging history podcasts – I loved Unobscured, which does deep dives on a particular topic. Season one was the Salem Witch Trials, and now it’s the spiritualist movement in the US. I’m pretty obsessed with both things. And I learned the hard way that I cannot listen to My Dad Wrote A Porno in public, headphones or not. Laughing to the point of tears in Whole Foods was a might embarassing.

  14. Durmgal says:

SPTB was my first book-related podcast. I blame it for my book podcast addiction. Along with SPTB, I now listen to Les Do Books with Tara Scott and a local podcast called A Book and A Cocktail.

  15. Mary K says:

Lies of Locke Lamora audiobook! It’s been a slow reading year for me.

  16. Francene says:

Have to listen to The Archers podcast/BBC radio drama every day. Still going strong after 50+ years.

  17. Susan in NE says:

The Heaving Bosoms podcast has become my go-to!

  18. Make Kay says:

I’ve been listening to health podcasts. It’s hard to keep up now that I’m not listening to them at night, because I’m meditating instead! But I continue to learn from them, so it’s worthwhile to find places to squeeze listening in

  19. Susan Green says:

I finally listened to my first podcast! White Lies on NPR. Fascinating. And I discovered that commuting is so much better with an audiobook. Anything by Lois McMaster Bujold.

  20. Janet Lee says:

Happy Hanukkah! I love listening to the Yo Is This Racist podcast (spoiler alert: it’s usually racist). Andrew and Tawny are really funny with good chemistry and the guests are always great.

  21. Trix says:

Mostly music, but Dani Martineck’s performance of Andrea Lawlor’s PAUL TAKES THE FORM OF A MORTAL GIRL was quite good…

  22. Melissa says:

I’ve been really enjoying Who Weekly this year. It’s a podcast about The Who’s of pop culture and the things they do.

  23. Ann Marie Holmes says:

I’ve been listening to my favorite true crime podcast, My Favorite Murder. Plus holiday music, tis the season and all that!

  24. Melissandre says:

I am not much of a podcast or audiobook listener. However, I recently discovered the female-fronted band Lake Street Dive and they are great!

  25. Denise says:

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts this year. The Good Place podcast was a great find. I binged on Netflix to catch up, and then binged on the podcast to really catch up! I also like Milk Street, Ologies, and Gastropod. And any true crime podcast I can get my hands on, except my husband doesn’t like to listen to those at night – “too creepy”…

  26. Michele H. says:

I listen to a bunch of podcasts, and like that I can balance my listening to what I need. Deep dives in history, short stories, news, audio fiction, interviews, comedy…it is so much more preferable to flipping through radio stations and never finding something.

  27. stacey freedman says:

I’ve enjoyed listening to audiobooks on Libby and Hoopla through the library. Mainly romances. I would like to learn to get into podcasts, but haven’t yet.

    Happy Hanukkah!

  28. JennyH says:

Podcasts! My Dad Wrote A Porno has gotten me through many a long workout.

  29. Sukari says:

I’be been enjoying Reply All this year.

  30. Erin says:

I love listening to the Friendshipping podcast (great recommendation from the SBTB podcast). I recently discovered Falls on Love and it’s a fun podcast too. I’m not a huge audiobook person but for the right narrator, I will listen.

  31. Julie B. says:

I need these for work! I work in a cube farm and am about to be moved into an area with even smaller cubicles (or for some of us simple what amounts to a long row of tables with tiny work spaces). I already have to listen to Zoom meetings all the time and it is only going to get worse. All I have right now are headphones that are not wireless which are a PITA since (a) I have to take them off if I have to walk even a few feet away and (b) the wires get tangles up in the books I’m cataloging.

  32. spinster.revival says:

Listening to nonfiction audiobooks; I’ve found that I can take in the information better listening than trying to read it. A few good ones include a biography of Janis Joplin and an essay collection about Little Women called March Sisters.

  33. Lulinke says:

Pop culture happy hour :). It is so relaxing.

  34. Jenny White says:

Audiobooks checked out for free from my library! I listen while I walk in the morning. The exercise is just a bonus, really.

  35. srs says:

I got really into podcasts while on maternity leave. My favourites are deep dive history podcasts like the History of English, Tides of History, Our Fake History, etc. For more topical podcasts I love Still Processing, The Dream, and Dolly Parton’s America.

  36. Glenda M says:

I haven’t started audiobooks however I do listen to a lot of music and the occasional podcast.

  37. Katie Wilson says:

I’ve enjoyed listening to lots of podcasts, including this one! I’ve also found some great audiobooks like Nora Roberts Key trilogy and Well Met by Jen DeLuca. Well Met was so fun to listen to during the fall because it was Ren Faire season here and it just put me in the mood to go and enjoy! Thanks for all the great recommendations and I would love to play your version of Romance Cards Against Humanity! You really need to sell that at Romance bookstores.

  38. Avengela says:

I have been catching up on the podcast, My Brother My Brother and Me on my 3 hour commute. I love those McElroys!

  39. Shelley Dodge says:

This is the year I realized how much I like mysteries set in the Regency and Victorian periods. I have listened to some really good ones including the Lady Sherlock series by Sherry Thomas, The Wrexford and Sloane books by Andrea Penrose, and the Veronica Speedwell books by Deanna Raybourn.

  40. Beige Rivera says:

I’ve started using Audible just a bit, but I loved both Nick Offerman’s “Paddle Your Own Canoe” and “Gumption”
