    My favorite bookstore will always be my dad’s, Books ‘N Stuff. Alas it finally went out of business thanks to Amazon, etc. But I will always treasure my memories of working in this store and helping my dad with his dream.

    Not my favorite, but love the large B&N at Union Square in NYC, multiple floors!

    My favorite is Powell’s Bookstore in Oregon. I have very fond memories of browsing the shelves for both new and used books there.

    I went to the Ripped Bodice in November, and it honestly felt like coming home. If it weren’t for the fact that I needed to meet people for dinner, I wouldn’t have left.

    Edwin McKay’s in Knoxville, TN. Second hand books…So. Many. Books. I can’t even count how many books I’ve read because of this store. Amazing.

    Cody’s Books in Berkeley on Telegraph Ave (RIP)! Now Pegasus Books in Berkeley—lovely staff, lots of great browsing. Someday I’ll visit The Ripped Bodice, though, and it may take first!

    Living outside the US, the best place I could usually find my fix of romance books in Englisg was always in a 2nd hand shop in Tel Aviv. I’d browse for hours and come out with a crate of books 🙂
    But the internet and ebooks have made things much simpler. I barely shop paper any more.

    My favorite bookstore is the Barnes and Noble I worked at in college in Boston. So many fond memories of spending my breaks holed up in a corner reading a new romance!

    Dussmann’s in Berlin has a nice english selection and a lovely Cafe with a vertical garden – I love to browse there.

    I miss Borders.

    When I used to travel, I’d always stop in bookstores. I have fond memories of going to The Strand in NYC, Foyles in London, and an English language bookstore by tje Spanish Steps in Rome that I don’t remember the name of.

    My favorite fictional bookstore has all of the romance books, a section of excellent yarn and fiber-related goodness, a cafe with exquisite teas and a mean latte… and cushy seating for solo and group enjoyment.

    My favorite book store was The Bookshop which was a small independent bookshop in my hometown. It closed when the owner retired, but it was always a joy to visit. She knew what my mother and I liked and was very good at recommending books. She eventually became a close friend. I even worked there from time to time as a teenager. I miss it.

    We have no bookstore in my town but for used books, the Book Barn in Connecticut is awesome. Several buildings full of books,

    The Mecosta book gallery in Mecosta Michigan. It’s a crazy used book store filled with books of all kinds. There is nothing else in this tiny town but a gas station and the book store.

    Browesabout Books in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Great local bookstore with a knowledgeable staff, *huge*.. Both my husband and I love being able to wander around there when we are in town. And we always discover new books I haven’t seen (and I work in a public library!)

    I buy all my books at my library’s Friends of the Library book sale every year. They take over a big building at the fair grounds and it’s books as far as the eye can see.

    My favorite bookstore is the Strand in NYC. I can spend hours just walking around and not spending a dime (though I usually spend more than I should when I go)!

    One of the most fascinating bookstores is the Dubai branch of Borders.
    I was so sad when this chain closed it’s stores in lower Manhattan.
    It is truly a literary feast for the eyes.
