Winner update: Congratulations to Crcala! Stay tuned for more giveaways!

Iron and Velvet by Alexis Hall has made me incredibly happy and made me pee my pants with laughter. The dry, sarcastic humor was just brilliant, as well as all the queer characters running around London with a kitchen sink style urban fantasy world. Kate and all of her exes and friends just became good friends who were there for me, made me smile and cheer. Especially Elise. That woman is honestly the true MVP and deserves some kind of award for being the best. I’m reading the second book, Shadows and Dreams right now, and it feels like going over to my friend’s house for drinks and hearing some WILD tales about their life.
Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews. All I can say is two words: ripper cushions!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes and Man vs. Durian by Jackie Lau.
Happy Hanukkah & thanks for the giveaway!
The Trouble with Christmas
Happy Hanukkah!
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
I wasn’t expecting The Blacksmith Queen to be as funny as it was. I definitely laughed, a lot, while driving and listening 🙂
Gideon the Ninth (Tamsyn Muir) – I guffawed so often, my husband became visibly annoyed
Hollow Kingdom, by Kira Jane Buxton. It was, at times, horrified laughter. I also started reading Lumberjanes this year, and those ALWAYS make me laugh!
The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare was a favorite among many books that made me smile this year.
The Shadowed Sun by N. K. Jemisin. I was ecstatic that there was an HEA to the love story in this book, unlike some of her other stories. And the romance was so good.
Parts of Sapphire Flames really made me laugh.
Scanning down my library checkout log: Jana Aston’s GOOD TIME, which I read in July, was the first new-to-me book I remember laughing over in 2019.
JULY!
It’s a good thing I’m a voracious re-reader. I know I was re-reading books that bring me joy (Act Like It, Murder in Thrall, the Spotless series) during the first six months.
Shrill by lindy west!
How darling! One series that never failed to bring a smile to my face is Erin Nicholas’s Boys of the Bayou–My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding, Sweet Home Louisiana, Beauty and the Bayou, and Crazy Rich Cajuns make me laugh and bring me joy no matter when I happen to pick them up.
Red, White and Royal Blue made me both happy and sad (oh, how I wish *that* was the world we lived in).
Happy Hannukah! Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston made me laugh out loud more than once. Ilona Andrews also does a good balance between action and humour. There were definitely bits of Sapphire Flames that made me laugh.
I spent last night reading Flatshare, and loved it. Leon’s character made so happy.
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary 🙂
Intercepted by Alexa Martin. I think today I actually hooted while reading this book.
Books that have made me laugh are in Cynthia Eden’s Bad Things series – my favorite I’ve read so far is Wicked and Wild.
Thanks for having a big Hanukkah bash every year! ❤️
The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare. The baby goat scene….amazing!
Aurora Rose Reynolds Until December
T. Kingfisher’s Swordheart!
I would pick The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken. Happy Holidays!
I loved The Bride Test.
The Duchess Deal!
Reticence by Gail Carriger. It’s the last book in the world of the Parasol Protectorate (technically, this is the Custard Protocol series) and it’s got Percy and I absolutely adored him and his awkwardness in courting his lady doctor, who was also delightful. He has a cat and just wants to be left alone with his books, but then realizes that it’s ok if she is also hanging out with him and his cat and his books. So many happy noises.
