Help! This is going to keep me up at night.
It’s a paranormal where the heroine is mute at first then (conveniently) gets her voice back. She goes to hell? another dimension? to save her adopted dad.
The hero who starts as a bad guy wears a ton of armor and maybe like a make-up mask.
Oh! She dies, but not really and wakes up with having forgotten the hero.
This is making me nuts, so any help would be appreciated.

I see some similarities with Cornelia Funke’s Tintenherz trilogy (YA fantasy, romantic) but not enough for a probable match.
This sounds kind of like one of the Demonica books. There are so many now that I couldn’t tell you which one. Even if it’s not what you’re looking for they’re great books
Is it a Sherilyn Kenyon? I inhaled a bunch of them a month ago, but I can’t remember which title belonged to which plot.
