I really could use your help finding a paranormal I read a few years ago and want to reread.
I don’t think this book could be classified as a romance since it doesn’t have a HEA, but it’s a paranormal shifter book. It’s a newish one, not published earlier than 2015 I think.
The heroine of the story is a dragon shifter, but she and her sister need to hide this since they are on the run from their family. I believe female dragons were very few and badly abused/used as broodmares.
The heroine had some sort of soul mate, a fey who was the boss or prince of a fey family or something, but she ran away from him because she had to hide her shifter abilities. When they meet again, they have sex since they crave it, but none of them is happy about it. He’s very possessive though.
I distinctly remember the ending: the heroine has to shift to fight but doesn’t shift back, instead she roams the world as a dragon. A couple months later she comes back to her “soul mate” and gives him an egg. It’s their baby and she tells him to guard it because she has to go fighting. Please help, I need to know if there is a second book in this series!

What about Breathing Fire by R.K. Liley? It’s been a few years since I read it so I’m not 100% sure and it was published in 2013 which is a little earlier than you thought.
