  1. Amanda B says:

A couple of my favorites from this summer were Tomboy, by Avery Flynn, and Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor.

  2. Jordan R says:

I’m a little behind the times on these, but I glommed through the Throne of Glass series. They’re fantasy with romance subplots, but wow I loved them!

  3. Leena says:

I really loved the Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen. I feel like my summer isn’t complete until I read or reread at least one of her books.

  4. Kathi B says:

My favorite read of the summer was Julie Garwood’s “Sizzle”.

  5. Peggy P says:

I am listening to The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood (3 more hours) and I don’t want it to end. Great story with great writing and the audiobook has a full cast and is really well done. Definitely my best book of summer and I highly recommend.

  6. Kathy L. says:

My favorite read this summer was Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews. I read that, then had to re-read Magic Triumphs, and then realized that the next Hidden Legacy book is coming out soon, so had to re-read all those. A bit of an Ilona Andrews bender.

  7. Kate Kehoe says:

I just finished Shelly Laurenston’s “In a Badger Way”. It was just what I needed during these dark times.

  8. Anton says:

I read Chuck Wendig’s Wanderers over the course of a couple days because I genuinely could not stop. I’d put it down and then an hour later I’d find myself picking it up again because my brain could not stop tugging my thoughts towards the story. The book was like an avalanche that starts with just a few sliding pieces and turns into a gigantic snowball of hurtling dread and wonder. It’s really good! It’s terrifying!

  9. Beige Rivera says:

This summer I loved series addition books! I read Jessica Peterson’s new Charleston Heat addition, Southern Gentleman, and Lucy Score’s Gin Fling and Highball Rush. Non-romance yet still additionals in series’, I FINALLY read Stiletto by Daniel O’Malley, Telephone Line by Julie Mulhern, and An Artless Demise by Anna Lee Huber. It’s been a great summer!!!

  10. Jen C says:

I loved The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary & Stealing Mr. Right by Tamara Morgan. Both were surprises to me & I will probably reread both.

  11. Janet Lee says:

It’s a toss-up between Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and Middlegame by Seanan McGuire. I think McQuiston is going to be an auto-buy for me and Seanan McGuire has yet to write a book that I didn’t like.

  12. Cerulean says:

I would say probably Protect the Prince by Jennifer Estep and A Lesson in Thorns by Sierra Simone – or its follow-up, Feast of Sparks. I also finally got around to reading and loving A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev.

  13. Sarah F says:

I just finished “Burnout” which was as great- I’d listened to the interview on the SB podcast and got pretty excited.
I also read “The Bird King” by G. Willow Wilson, and I’m doing a re-read of “The Bridal Quest” by Candace Camp. One of my favorite historicals.

  14. AuntieKristin says:

I started listening to the Fated Mates podcast and got sucked in to Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series.

  15. Leah G says:

This summer was nuts, and I got so far behind on my read list. Now that things are calming down I have no idea what I read. Though I suppose it means that the ones I forgot wouldn’t count as my favorite.

I did finally read “Where the Crawdads Sing” it took over 6 months to get from the library. But I ended up reading it in a day (and half the night) so it was definitely worth the wait.

I also read Kristen Callihan’s Darkest London series. My favorite is still the first, but I really liked the series as a whole.

  16. Tori says:

Read and loved The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare and enjoyed Outfox by Sandra Brown

  17. Leah G says:

  18. Heather RR says:

I surprisingly loved Thirsty by Mia Hopkins

  19. Avengela says:

The Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) Starter Pack by R.J. Blain. It made me laugh out loud and not think too hard. Perfect way to relax this summer!

The new Danielle Hawkins (NZ author of rural romance). So so so good. Thankful that my mum had space in her suitcase to bring it from NZ to the UK for me.

  24. farfromgruntled says:

The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez! It was so good!

  28. Megan N says:

Currently reading, and flying through, Outlander. I watched the first two seasons when they were added to Netflix and couldn’t get enough.

  29. Sarah says:

I loved This Fallen Prey by Kelley Armstrong!

  30. Jodi says:

I finally got around to reading ‘The Hating Game,’ and it just brought a smile to my face as well as being sexy. It was nice to read something that had a little bite but still gave me warm fuzzies since this summer has been rough.

  31. Kathy says:

Thanks to SBTB I was introduced to Courtney Milan and the Brothers Sinister series. I really liked, and was so impressed by, The Countess Conspiracy. The character development was so, so great. A heroine who was a STEM genius! Even better!

  32. Nikki says:

Fifth Season trilogy by N.K. Jemisin. I love discovering new authors. This trilogy was so good- it has a bit of everything although not sure I would classify it as a romance.. hmm, does it still count for this contest? 🙂

  33. Marilyn Forsyth says:

This winter (I’m an Aussie) I loved reading Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians. The setting, the romance, the humour! Everything I love in a book.

Kristan Higgin’s Life And Other Inconveniences and
Laura Lippman’s Lady in The Lake

  38. Ms. M says:

It took a while to grow on me (the seeming age disparity creeped me out), but The Epic Crush of Genie Lo turned out to be dynamite

  39. Sara says:

I just finished and lived “Swipe Right” by Alisha Rai

  40. Miss Louisa says:

I really liked, “Evie Drake is Starting Over,” and the latest Lucy Parker. I ended up re-reading all the Lucy Parkers because they are so fun.
