I loved Cat Sebastian’s A Duke in Disguise, Talia Hibbert’s Mating the Huntress, and Olivia Dade’s Teach Me. And I just zoomed through Kristen Callahan’s The Game Plan, my first football romance.

  2. Kate says:

I loved Brazen and the Beast so much, it was lovely!

  3. LisaM says:

I loved Mating the Huntress by Talia Hibbert, Teach Me by Olivia Dade, and The Duke in Disguise by Cat Sebastian. And I just zoomed through The Game Plan by Kristin Callahan, my first football romance.

  4. Kareni says:

A book I read recently that I quite enjoyed is Angela Boord’s Fortune’s Fool; it’s the author’s debut book, a fantasy.

  5. Elizabeth Schroedle says:

My favorites this summer have been The Bride Test by Helen Hoang and The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.

  6. Dawn Roberto says:

I really enjoyed Kristan Higgins newest book Life and Other Inconveniences which was fabulous in my opinion. I couldn’t get into her last book, Good Luck with Thant and was blown away by this one. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

  7. GB says:

I had two favorites so far this summer. Every Last Breath by Juno Rushdan and Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik were gripping reads.

  8. ReneeG says:

I loved so many books this summer (it was a great reading season for me!), but especially loved SWEEP OF THE BLADE by Ilona Andrews (and the precursor books in the series, which I read for the upteenth time because I love them all), and TEACH ME by Olivia Dade (my first book from Ms. Dade, but definitely not my last).

I’m enjoying going thru the comments and making notes for my next reading binges. Thank you, Bitches!!

  9. Thalia Lewandowski says:

I loved the Caraval trilogy by Stephanie Garber. While the romantic elements were great, the sister (and to a lesser degree the brother) bond made it for me. And…the year of Hattie was worth the wait!
Sarah MacLean’s Brazen and the Beast was fantastic

  10. Sarah says:

Slightly Scandalous by Mary Balogh. The series is so lovely and warm that it always makes me smile.

  11. Kristina says:

I wasn’t able to read as much this summer as I wanted since I had to take summer classes, but I did read The Mermaid’s Sister by Carrie Anne Noble and the Possessing Beauty series by Madison Faye. The Mermaid’s Sister was very cute and whimsical. I really loved the main character and how much she loved everyone. The Possessing Beauty series is just erotic fun and Faye’s writing is always enjoyable.

  12. Rebecca W. says:

I love love LOVED The Wallflower Wager!!!

  13. Ana S. says:

I fell head over heels with S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett, that I bought at YALC. It totally caught me by surprise.

  14. MaryK says:

I loved the first half of The Flatshare which was all that I had time to read. Procrastination and expiring library books do not mix.

  15. AmyS says:

I absolutely adored Want Me by Neve Wilder. I didn’t want it to end and I would read it again if I didn’t have so many other books to read!

  16. Sharon says:

How am I just reading Alisha Rai right now? Anyway, The Right Swipe is just delightful. Every time I worry that stupid misunderstandings are going to get in the way, there is a refreshing breeze of mature adulthood to make everything okay!

  17. Mai Ka says:

To be honest, this summer has been more about music than books to me, especially with my deep dive into the K-POP band, BTS. GASP on both accounts, I know. But I did manage to read a few books, and so far, Brazen and the Beast by Sarah MacLean, has been one of my favorites. I’m looking forward to catching up on Romancelandia soon.

  18. Kate K.F. says:

Great question and I’ve been lucky enough to have read some really good books this summer. I think one of my favorites that really stood out to me was The Afterward by E.K. Johnston. It had so many things that I love in a book and made me happy.

  19. SaraW says:

Still singing the praises of Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik. Read and re-read once a month since it’s purchase.

    Can’t wait for the sequel!

Thank you SBTB and The Bitchery, I know I won’t win but I am SO grateful this community exists. You are bettering the world and Romancelandia!

  20. Maggie says:

I bought Midnight Riot over a year ago and it’s been sitting unread on my Kindle, but I finally got around to it and now I have no idea why I was waiting. Now, I’m having to make myself slow down so I don’t glom the entire series in a massive binge read. Definitely one of the best books this summer.

  21. Ursula Schwaiger says:

My favorite read this summer was “Daughter of the Forest” by Juliet Marillier. Someone on this website may have recommended it- it was excellent. A wonderful slow-burn romance, lyrical writing, pre-Christian Ireland setting, Celtic mythology, fantasy.

  22. Laura Coleman says:

    Evie Drake is Starts Over

  23. Colleen says:

I haven’t read much this summer, but I loved Playing House by Ruby Lang. It was so adorable and great competence p0rn; I wish it had been longer!

  24. Malvina says:

My winter discovery has been ‘The Flatshare’ by Beth O’Leary. Loved the contrast of the two main characters, and how their relationship developed before they even met.

  25. Becca says:

My favorite book this summer was probably Crashing the A List, by Summer Heacock. Despite the hero being a jerk toward the heroine for most of the book, I really dug it. I think my love of Enemies to Lovers made me more okay with parts I would otherwise have been less okay with.

  26. Ell T says:

It’s a novella, but I’d have to say my favorite book that I read this summer was Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure by Courtney Milan. It was such a satisfying read, and I loved reading about the type of people and relationships we don’t often see in romance novels.

  27. Chris Alexander says:

I really loved STORM OF LOCUSTS by Rebecca Roanhorse and SINGLE MALT by Layla Reyne.

  28. Sofia says:

My favorite was Ayesha At Last by Uzma Jalaluddin. I loved how she used Pride and Prejudice as a frame for a story about South Asians.

  29. Becky says:

So many wonderful books came out this summer! Brazen and the Beast was probably my favorite!

  30. Geralynn Ross says:

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It took breath away ! ! I spent a couple of months of looking for a book that could capture my attention afterwards. Everything seemed bland after reading it!

  31. susan says:

I just finished Mia Vincy’s A Wicked Kind of Husband and really really really liked it.

  32. Y says:

Really enjoyed reading Wild Country by Anne Bishop and Wolf Rain by Nalini Singh. Can’t wait to read Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews!

  33. TGIB says:

Teach Me was my comfort read of the summer!

  34. Lorenet says:

The year of Hattie. Brazen and the Beast by Sarah MacLean.

  35. Ashley says:

I have loved the misadventures in matchmaking series by Vivienne Lorret. They were a lot of fun. I typically read historical or fantasy but branched out into contemporary with Amelia Wilde, Over Easy was hysterical and steamy! I have Cold Brew in my TBR queue.

  36. Rhonda Newton says:

I’m not sure I can pick just one. I enjoyed A.M. Arthur’s Neighborhood Shindig series set in a food truck/small business community. Red, White & Royal Blue was a one-sitting read, which I hope to see at least one sequel for to continue the series. The Ladies’ Guide to Celestial Mechanics was a palate cleasner for me, as an f/f historical. I did read some m/f – The Flatshare was a fun read and interesting idea.

  37. Mandy Aguilar says:

I read a lot of really great books this summer, but I’m here to mention SORCERY OF THORNS by Margaret Rogerson. Great worldbuilding, lots of libraries, hot young sorcerer… just give it a shot!

  38. Rhonda says:

  39. CJ says:

I don’t know if it counts but I’m sure glad I have: Complete Guide to Home Canning: Revised 2015.

A riveting, compelling book on how to naively decide what you are going to pressure can and then totally exhaust yourself trying to do a tiny bit of it.

  40. Lizzy says:

I’m loving Lore Olympus of WebToons. I also really liked The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare, it didn’t tread any new ground but it was warm and fuzzy.
