Wow, that’s a lot of new faces! Is there a reason for increasing The Smart Bitches from 5 people to 13 people? Does it make SBTB easier to manage in certain ways? Because it sounds like a lot more to juggle (depending on POV, I guess.) Please know my question isn’t meant in a negative way – just a naive way! I enjoy when you tell us about behind-the-curtain stuff.
Hey Lisa! Thanks for asking! There’s a few reasons. First, the number of books published increases hourly. As I often joke, there are about 200 more since I started typing this sentence. In order to cover more of what’s available to readers, we needed more reviewers. I also wanted to increase the points of view represented by our reviewers, and am so honored by the breath of perspectives represented. It is a lot more to juggle but I try to stay organized, work in advance of deadlines when possible, and I have a (I hope!) clear, digitally connected, and detailed workflow for incoming reviews and getting those reviews through editing and onto the site. Feel free to ask more questions if you’d like!
Following closely behind my love of reading books is my love for reading book reviews. What a treat to look forward to more reviews of my favorite kind of books. Welcome, everyone!
