This HaBO comes from Brandy, who is hoping to find this old school historical romance:
I read this book back in the late 80s or early 90s.
I believe the main characters name is Miranda. I think it takes place in Texas or Mexico, and the heroine is Mexican.
There is definitely a kidnapping. Miranda’s dad is against her marrying the American hero. Her dad was pretty wealthy, I think.
The cover was pale (ecru maybe) with her face and flowers or maybe a ranch scene.
At the time I thought it was steamy but may not be compared to now.
There’s something about the cover description that is ringing bells for me.

OK, this is a wild guess, because I read the book I’m suggesting years ago. I re-bought the paperback a few months ago but it’s still sitting in my TBR pile. Is this perhaps Michaela Morgan’s Madelaina?
It sounds like a Johanna Lindsay, but although the cover matches I don’t think “Brave The Wild Wind” lines up with the plot.
I also think it sounds like a Lindsey, but it sounds like *Heart of Thunder* to me. The names don’t line up though. The classic 80s cover also doesn’t match, although it is making me nostalgic.
Brenda Joyce innocent fire? Heroine is Miranda and takes place in Texas. Some of the other details are a bit off …
“Flowery Ranch” sounds like a pungent salad dressing (sorry, no clue on the book)
Leigh Greenwood? She has one with a heroine named Marina (Ward from The Cowboys) and I think it was from the right time frame but again, plot details are different.
This is totally off-topic, but I just wanted to note that Leigh Greenwood is a he. A number of men have written romances under female pseudonyms, but Greenwood has always been open about his gender.
Thanks, @Susan…westerns are not my catnip so I had no clue.
