The best and worst thing I could say about this series is that it’s very much like Carriger’s other series. It’s the worst thing in that there’s not a lot new in here except that it seems to be a series that gets us out of alternate universe England and into the rest of Empire. It’s the best thing because honestly Carriger’s world and style are just pure yummy candy. If you give me a five pound bag of M&M’s, it’s not like I’m going to get to the bottom and say, “Gosh darn it, this is still M&M’s!”

re: the Hunter book, I have to ask. Is debaucherous a word? My spell check sure doesn’t recognize it.
@DonnaMarie, debaucherous does not seem like a perfectly cromulent word.
How is there an entire team of werewolfs. Did a werewolf change an entire swat team? Did they somewhere recruit only werewolves to fill a slew of government in the middle of a major municipality? This seams like a major discrimination case. Its a step too far for my suspension of disbelief.
I love Gail Carriger but Prudence is terrible. Prudence is so terrible I wish I had bought it in hard copy so I could physically throw it away. Before you pay anything for it, please read the 1-star review on Goodreads by a user named Gehayi because it is a very good summary of everything that is wrong with this book.
I’ve tried to like Gail Carriger but her Americanisms drive me mad.
