An Earl Like No Other
An Earl Like No Other by Wilma Counts is 99c! This historical romance is a standalone and features two single parent characters. Readers wanted more in terms of the romance, but others found the hero and heroine’s worry over their children to be really touching. Also, I may hate strapless dresses, but I’m loving what the heroine is wearing on the cover.
WHEN ALL SEEMED LOST…
Katherine Gardiner, a young English widow, has only one dream: to protect her son—a future duke—from her merciless father-in-law. Determined and desperate, she has no option but to take the guise of a housekeeper and escape to Yorkshire where the only hope is the enigmatic Earl of Kenrick…
…LOVE SAVED THE DAY
In all his years spent roaming the world, Jeremy Chilton never braced himself for the burden of a much-damaged inheritance. Now, the new Earl of Kenrick must save his family legacy and raise his motherless young daughter as a proper English lady. His only salvation is his beautiful housekeeper, Kate. But as her secrets unravel, much that is puzzling about her falls into place. No wonder the Earl has caught himself imagining her more wife than employee. Clearly she belongs at Kenrick—safe in his arms. Now, if only he can convince her to agree…

Any Time, Any Place
Any Time, Any Place by Jennifer Probst is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance and has a renovation element. Elyse read this one and gave it a B grade in a Lightning Review:
While the revenge part and the woodworking (hur) wasn’t a huge draw for me, the sexiness, the heroine and the restaurant environment made this contemporary stand out.
HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this second volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new heart-wrenching and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.
When she was a teenger, Raven Bella Stratton’s father was killed in a horrible car crash. The bigger shock was the discovery of a woman with him—Diana Pierce—and their two fully packed suitcases with airline tickets to Paris. Devastated by her father’s betrayal, Raven went to live with her aunt, never truly overcoming the traumatic event. When she discovers that the mysterious woman had a family with a husband and three boys, Raven vows to leave the memory of her father behind.
Until Dalton Pierce visits one night and suddenly her past challenges her future…
Leaving his life in California behind to run Pierce Construction with his two older brothers, Dalton Pierce has enjoyed returning home and studying his passion of woodworking. But when he visits the local bar with his brothers one evening, he’s immediately drawn to the smart-mouthed, badass, sexy bartender who sets his body on fire. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem as intrigued by him, and his multiple advances are met with rejection. When he offers to restore the bar back to its original glory, he begins to work with her on a daily basis, and falls harder. His plan of seduction slowly weaves a web around them both, until they are caught up in the spell. But Dalton doesn’t know the secret that can either destroy them both…or finally mend two broken hearts.

Wild Beauty
Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore is $2.99! This is a queer YA magical realism novel and it was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Readers loved McLemore’s lyrical writing, but others found this book to be too slow for them. I feel like a lot of magical realism books require patience, though I love magical realism.
Love grows such strange things.
Anna-Marie McLemore’s debut novel The Weight of Feathers garnered fabulous reviews and was a finalist for the prestigious YALSA Morris Award, and her second novel, When the Moon was Ours, was longlisted for the 2016 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. Now, in Wild Beauty, McLemore introduces a spellbinding setting and two characters who are drawn together by fate—and pulled apart by reality.
For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.
The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.

You, Me, U.S.
You, Me, U.S. by Brigitte Bautista is available for preorder for 99c! This book comes out on the 15th and is a f/f, friends to lovers, #RomanceClass romance. Author KJ Charles wrote an amazing review for this book on Goodreads. I recommend giving it a read.
Best friends Jo and Liza are as opposite as night and day. Sex worker Jo swears by the worry-free, one-day-at-a-time dance through life. Salesclerk Liza has big plans for her family’s future, and there is nothing bigger than a one-way trip to the U.S. But an almost-kiss, a sex dare, and news of Liza’s engagement to her American boyfriend unveil feelings Jo and Liza never thought they had. Deciding between staying together and drifting apart puts Liza’s best-laid plans and Jo’s laidback life in jeopardy.
When love clashes with lifelong ambitions and family expectations, someone has to give in.
Question is: who?

All of these are Cover Awe for me with Wild Beauty being the winner. And they’re on sale? Win-win!
That first dress reminds me of Miss Scarlet in the Clue movie, ‘cept different color and longer. I always did covet that dress.
Sandra Antonelli’s At Your Service is 99¢ at Amazon. It’s part of a larger sale on “Seasoned Romances” which @jcp linked in yesterday’s sale post.
If you’re buying it for the age thing, buy it for the age thing. I am not particularly on the lookout for older protagonists in my romances and just loved it for the layers in the protagonists’ relationship, the heroine’s take-no-sh*t attitude, and the spy plot.
@Deborah
I just finished At Your Service and really liked it! The age thing made me happy, because the characters are in their 50s and are scampering around getting in fights and running from bad guys and I’m 33 and need a nap after going to the grocery store. And I’m putting Sicily on my travel day dream list!
Have you read the sequel? Is it good?
@EJ – I’m queued for the sequel at my library. Currently #6. *possesses self in patience*
I listened to the audiobook ‘Any Time, Any Place’ and I enjoyed it very much. The storyline was interesting and kept me engaged until the end. The chemistry and banter between Raven and Dalton was fun to follow. I shall read read th other books soon, look promising.
A romance where one of the leads is a sex worker and the person they fall for is NOT a client? And the relationship is queer???? Sign me the heck up, I’ve been looking for this for so long. I hope the character is treated well. I’m always so hesitant when it comes to reading books with sex worker characters, as I’ve only read a handful that treat the job like a job and not a moral/social failing.
That f/f romance looks really intriguing
