    The Kiss Quotient

  2. Aly says:

Right now it’s A Useful Woman by Darcie Wilde, or maybe The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang.

  3. Melissandre says:

It wasn’t in 2019, but can I count The Duchess Deal (read in the last week or so of 2018)?

  4. The Other Mary K says:

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison! I listened to it through my library and loved it so much that I immediately ordered the paperback to read with my eyeballs!

  5. Beth says:

My favorite book so far this year has been the Nagoski sisters’ Burnout, which I found based on a rec from this site!

  6. Line JM says:

My favourite book so far this year is My European Family: The First 54,000 Years by Karing Boojs, I listened to it in Swedish, which is the author herself reading. Very enjoyable and interesting. I like this kind of history/science that is shaped around a kind of story.

  7. Christi says:

My favorite book so far this year hasn’t come out yet! But it’s Pride, Prejudice and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev and it’s absolutely spectacular. I can’t wait for more people to read it so I can gush over it with someone else!

  8. Roxanna Garcia says:

The Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews.

  9. Regina says:

    The Talisman by Stephen King

  10. Uchenna says:

My favorite book that I’ve read in 2019 is My Sister the Serial Killer.

  11. LornaG says:

My favourites have been Ruby Dixson’s Ice Planet Barbarians. Crazy, but so much fun!

  12. It’s terrible, I hardly remember what I’ve read so far this year, particularly while going through eye surgery. I think I will have to go with A Change of Heart by Sonali Dev for the sheer intensity of feels. (I had to put it down two or three times and give myself some space before I could go on with it, that’s how intense it was.)

  13. Amber says:

A Matter of Time by Margaret Locke

  14. Janet S says:

I really loved the Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. This month I started the Lady Julia Gray series by Deanna Raybourn and that is looking very promising.

  15. Trix says:

    Thomas Page McBee’s AMATEUR

  16. JudyW says:

Ok. I have to list two here. First Any Old Diamonds by K J Charles. Another great story with a heist involved that was superb. The other is His Quiet Agent by Ada Maria Soto. I’ve never read her before but this was such a quiet, intense (and surprisingly no sex!) read that will stick to the ribs. I am definitely excited to explore a backlist on a newly found author.

  17. Caroline says:

    The Huntress by Kate Atkinson!

  18. Tess says:

    Queen of Swords, Sara Donati

  19. filkferengi says:

    M.C.A. Hogarth–Healer’s Wedding

  20. Nico says:

The best book I’ve read so far is The Duke I Tempted by Scarlett Peckham. I must be the only one who tried Polaris Rising and didn’t like it at all!

  21. Kate says:

The Bear & the Nightengale and the rest of that trilogy – I wanted to start again as soon as I’d finished!

  22. Maria Blake says:

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas (I’m behind), also her Devil’s Daughter

  23. Emily says:

I really liked the last book club book (space! science! plotting! friendship!) even though I’ve already forgotten what it was called. Burnout is absolutely A+ so far and I also liked the Laura Vanderkamp book about having enough time. The Ultimate Pi Day Party was a definite happy book noise book and I’m very into the Reluctant Royals series (angst! recognizing emotions! working through feelings of self-doubt!).

I’ve been very interested in books about reducing stress this year.

  24. Nat says:

My favorite so far is Katherine Arden’s The Winter of the Witch. Really enjoyed this trilogy.

  25. Sarah S. says:

Not romance, but All Systems Red by Martha Wells has been my favorite so far.

  26. Jill-Marie says:

I discovered Molly Harper through this site and fell in love. I don’t have much time to read for pleasure (I read for a living, LOL) but I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and Harper’s “How to Date Your Dragon” and “Love and Other Wild Things” have been my favorites this year by far.

  27. Kristi says:

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers and The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.

  28. Smmoe1997 says:

So far my favorite book has been a non-romance. Three Mages and a Margarita by Annette Marie. I bought the ebook on my Kindle on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I’ve mainly been rereading this year and it was a pleasant break in between.

  29. Wub says:

Spectred Isle by K J Charles. One of the only modern books I love in the same way as M R James.
Closely followed by anything else of hers.

  30. Konst. says:

Scandal Above Stairs (Kat Holloway book 2) by Jennifer Ashley

  31. Veronica says:

The Kingdom of Copper by S.K. Chakraborty. The second in a trilogy, but I liked this better than the first.

  32. Heather says:

The Girl He Used to Know from Tracey Garvis Graves 🙂

  33. EK says:

Only a promise by Mary Balogh

  34. Claire C says:

Polaris Rising, i love scfi romance and never seem to find enough of it.

  35. PamG says:

I actually decided to do the spreadsheet thing this year, and I found myself kind of shocked by the amount of books that didn’t rate 5 stars–even the ones by favorite authors. It appears that my favorites for the year, barring rereads, are a tie between Julie Anne Long’s Lady Derring Takes a Lover and Jayne Fresina’s Bespoke. Long is back in her stride with her return to historical romance, and Bespoke immediately triggered spasms in my one-click response and a Fresina reading binge. Oddly, these were the first historicals I’d read in ages and they absolutely hit the spot.

  36. Charlotte Blackwell says:

Mine has been Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant, it’s a tremendous book with amazing characters and bi, lesbian and autistic rep among so many other things!

  37. Kourtney Wilkinson says:

    The Madman’s Daughter

  38. Melinda Utendorf says:

My favorite so far is American Dreamer by Adriana Herrera – SO GOOD!!

  39. MizFletcher says:

    Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik

  40. Gail A says:

I am reading Callie Hutton’s Marriage Mart Mayhem Series.
