  1. Cheryl says:

My favourite romance this year is Talia Hibbert’s A Girl Like Her. Favourite non-romance is Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Boys.

  2. Cassandra says:

Just finished Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long and it’s my favorite historical so far by a hair over Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas.

Also loved Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik.

  3. Fairytalegirl says:

Standouts of the year thus far are Roshani Chokshi’s The Star-Touched Queen and Crown Of Wishes duology (Indian mythology, romance, adventure, and beautiful poetic writing) and Holly Black’s The Wicked King (political scheming, my favourite flavour of weird romance, great Slytherin heroine – she’s spymistress!).

  4. Regina Phelange says:

My favorite book(s) so far for 2019 would have to be Courtney Milan’s THE COUNTESS CONSPIRACY and THE HEIRESS EFFECT (Brothers Sinister series). I adore how her heroines are whip smart and complicated, and her heroes are just so damn impressed by them. I also really appreciated her depiction of the stifling expectations women faced then and still do, to some degree. The heroines don’t have to clip their wings in order to have their HEA. I love it!

Courtney Milan is amazing and a genius, and I love her for not shying away from putting her heroines’ intelligence on full display. Smart IS the new sexy.

  5. JPeK says:

Tough question! I’m going to say book 3 in Charlie Adhara’s series: Thrown to the Wolves.

  6. Joy says:

My favorite book so far in 2019 is “The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet” by Becky Chambers. The aliens and science are just awesome!

My favorite romance book so far in 2019 is “In a Badger Way” by Shelley Laurenston, because her stuff is just bonkers and fun.

  7. Heather says:

I…. genuinely cannot choose. But I really, REALLY enjoyed Daisy Jones & the Six.

  8. Carolyn says:

It’s a toss-up between The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren and Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh, both of which I want to read again already (for different reasons)!

  9. Kelsey Derks says:

The madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie has been my favorite so far this year… Oldie but goodie!

  10. Cat C says:

Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas is still giving me warm fuzzies weeks later

  11. jas16 says:

I really loved A Wicked Kind of Husband

  12. Kelsey D says:

The madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie has been my favorite so far this year… Oldie but goodie!

  13. Boann says:

I’m only a quarter of the way into Polaris Rising, but agree with everyone else naming it a favorite. Very fun!

  14. JS says:

It Happened One Wedding by Julie James

  15. Tonya K. says:

Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath. Thanks for the chance!!!

  16. Brandy says:

My favorite read so far was Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield.

  17. Heather RR says:

I absolutely loved Can’t Escape Love by Alyssa Cole.

  18. denise says:

It hasn’t actually been released yet, I read it as a netgalley: Smitten by the Brit by Melonie Johnson.

  19. Kelsey says:

Red, White, & Royal Blue is absolutely delightful, and it’s the book I’m going to recommend again and again this year.

  20. Lori says:

OMG I can’t choose just one!

Sweet Agony by Charlotte Stein was the bananas BDSM Jane Eyre-inspired story I never knew I needed in my life.

Echo North by Joanna Ruth Meyer was one of the best Beauty & the Beast retellings that I’ve ever read: the twist at the end KILLED me in the best way possible.

Rafe by Rebekah Weatherspoon was fluffy hot goodness. I really love romances where the angst is non-existent and the conflict is minimal or based on everyday issues (in this case, the trepidation about dating after divorce, also being attracted to your hot male nanny…like you do).

Alyssa Cole has had like three things out recently (a couple of novellas and a novel) that were all great. But I loved Can’t Escape Love because it was SO GEEKY and super lovely.

  21. TrishJ says:

I loved Stone Cold Heart by Laura Griffin. I love the whole series. Romantic suspense at its best.

  22. Abby Pagano says:

Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson was amazing!

  23. Celia says:

The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory! Loved it SO much!!

  24. Band Sinister by KJ Charles. One of my new all time favorites and a go-to comfort read.

  25. Laura says:

Bad Blood by John Carreyrou (about the Theranos fraud) was a favorite so far this year. For fiction, I loved A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole and Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal (I know, ridiculous that I am just reading these books now). I am listening to American Spy by Lauren Wilkinson on audiobook right now and it is AMAZING!

  26. Favorite book so far this year – Cant escape love by Alyssa Cole

  27. Michele says:

I think my favorite has to be Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik, mostly because I adored, adored the heroine. She was heroic and honorable and it made me realize how seldom those words actually apply to female characters in books. It really made me think about how often we fall into stereotype!

  28. Geralynn R Ross says:

The Muderbot Series by Martha Wells. It’s not romance, but I love her writing!

  29. Kacey Mark says:

So far this year, I’ve loved Vengeance Road Christine Feehan

  30. Erica H says:

Toss up between In a Badger Way by Laurenston and Untouchable by JAK.

  31. Lori says:

A Dangerous Collaboration by Deanna Raybourn

  32. Jodi says:

I just finished ‘Witnessing the Night’ and started ‘Wicked Saints’ after Amanda’s review. Both of them are so good in very different ways!

  33. Noel Stark says:

Sweet Agony by Charlotte Stein. So funny. So sexy. I’ve read 13 more of hers since.

  34. Kathleen says:

My fave has been Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett– it made me love YA again!

Bonus: My least fave was A Wolf Apart by Maria Vale. I LOVED the first in the series, but the second one was a foul ball for me. I’ll pick up the 3rd though. 🙂

  35. G. says:

Can’t choose between Deanna Raybourn’s A DANGEROUS COLLABORATION and Cordelia Kingsbridge’s A CHIP AND A CHAIR.

  36. Debra Felstead says:

King’s Captive by Amber Bardan. The whole time I was asking, What now? Who’s this guy? How is this going to end well? …I’m uncomfortable but strangely compelled to read about this seemingly horrific situation this woman has been thrust into.

  37. Elaine says:

My fave reads so far this year have been Jane Harper’s “The Lost Man” and Kate Quinn’s “The Alice Network.” Not perfect but still super enjoyable, was Annika Martin’s “The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl.” Fun premise, well-executed.

  38. Christina says:

So far this year my favorite reads have been Huge Deal by Lauren Layne and Pretty Face by Lucy Parker.

  39. Donna Goldberg says:

Without a doubt, my favorite book so far this year is The Lost Man by Jane Harper.

  40. Kelsey Cooper says:

Loved The Wicked King by Holly Black! I’ve been in a reading rut lately and have been DNF more books then finishing.
