Adventures in BigStock: Women for All Seasons

BigStock reached out to us about featuring their portfolio in our entries, and we had so much fun exploring, we wanted to share some entertaining collections of images. There are some seriously talented photographers at work in stock imagery, too.

There’s also a lot of gold to be mined when it comes to stock photos. Every month, we’d love to share with you some great, beautiful, or downright silly things we’ve come across on BigStock.

This month’s theme: Women for All Seasons

For those of you who may or may not remember, our first Adventures in BigStock was Men for All Seasons. Now it’s time for women to get a turn!

Spring

How delicate! She’s the kind of girlfriend you can’t help but fuss over. Did she put enough sunscreen on that adorable button nose of hers? Maybe she needs a hat to keep the sun out of her eyes. Oh, and I bet you checked those flowers for bugs before you handed them to her. What you don’t know is that her twee, fragile exterior hides the soul of nature-loving witch. Your happily ever after will result in her teaching you the spell to keep your hair from getting frizzy.

Summer

Jen knows a sudden trip to Florida to handle family business isn’t the vacation you wanted, especially in summer. Everything is crowded in the summer and the beaches are anything but relaxing. But she knows just how to fix it. Ice cream. Ice cream is the key to happiness and she firmly insists on getting two scoops.

Fall

Exchange student Maria has completely fallen in love with New England leaf peeping. And with you, too. There’s just one catch. Her semester abroad in the U.S. is over this winter. Perhaps you can manage to study abroad in Europe and visit her. But until then, can her love of fall foliage and you (her nerdy roommate and fellow English Lit major) survive the distance?

Winter

Listen, we’re going full Hallmark Channel here. You’re a grumpy workaholic. The last thing you need right now is to head home to Christmas, Montana to clean out your late aunt’s boutique shop of handmade ornaments. What you don’t expect is to be smitten by Becca, the owner of the shop next door who specializes in organic pet treats. She loves Christmas (both the town and the holiday) and perhaps she’ll warm you up to the idea of spending more time in this winter wonderland.

Do you have a favorite season? Who would you like to spend more time with?

  1. K.N.O’Rear says:

Autumn is my favorite season and girl, but if I was in the right mood Becca’s story would be an adorable read.

  2. Herberta says:

Summer. Ice cream really does fix everything.

  3. Sarah says:

Winter is the story I would most like to read. Fall is the model I would most like to fall in love with ME.

  4. DonnaMarie says:

I’m in standby hell trying to get back to Chicago. Missed my flight by one minute. I don’t think ice cream will fix this, but I’m going to give it a try.

  5. Kareni says:

Ice cream is definitely a key to happiness…as is chocolate!

  6. Joy says:

@DonnaMarie–if ice cream doesn’t work, head for the bar for a cocktail! A belt or two will make the waiting for the next flight a lot less painful.

  7. EJ says:

Someone needs to pitch that idea to Hallmark, but have them make it a Christmas mystery. Hallmark’s mystery lineup needs serious help right now.

  8. Joy says:

Ummm… BigStock doesn’t have any pictures of women over age 25 or a size 2? Yeah, that’s realistic.

  9. Jess says:

SUMMER AND FALL ARE MY GIRLS <3

  10. Deianira says:

Ice cream will not fix the hell that is being a year-round resident in a beachfront town. Although at least Jen is walking on the beach, not creeping along at ten miles per hour during rush hour when those of us who actually live here are trying to get to work.

  11. Kathy says:

@Deianira As someone living in a landlocked industrial town in the North of England it is hard to feel your pain. Bring on the ice cream, I say, and let us poor stiffs who live far from the shore share your pleasure for awhile! But actually, winter looks like she is having the most fun!
