Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: Damon? Or is it Damien?

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO comes from Noel, who is searching for an older historical:

I’m looking for a historical romance probably written in the 1980s.

Bonnie (I think?) is on the youngish side, maybe 18, and is a lowly servant in Damien’s (I think? Damon?) lordly home. She has no real sense of class or difference between them and her forthrightness and lack of guile (and her obvious hotness) draws him to her. They make the sex and after freely telling him she loves him (she has no emotional baggage), she runs away to the streets of London to make her own way since he did not reciprocate the sentiment. Loving her courage but frustrated with her naïveté (as well as being lost without her), he searches for months and finally finds her in a terrible state–impoverished, starving and four months pregnant with his child. They both have dark hair.

That’s all I got! I read this when I was a kid and want to find it again.

Also, the author’s name might have been Bonnie, instead of the heroine. I don’t know.

I hope Damon/Damien makes it up to Maybe-Bonnie.

“A Fire in the Heart” by Katherine Sutcliffe. Hero is Damien and heroine is Bonnie.

    From the Amazon description:
The handsome but moody Lord Damien Warwick reluctantly takes in a beautiful refugee from a British work house, but their hearts are plagued with conflict as their desire for each other becomes overwhelming

OMG that’s it!!! Thank you so much!!

    That was amazingly fast.
