Insert Groom Here

Insert Groom Here by K.M. Jackson is 99c! This is book one in the Unconventional Brides series. Readers recommend this one if you prefer your contemporaries more on the romantic comedy side. However, others felt it was bogged down by too many internal monologues. Have you read this one?
Tired white lace, rote promises, same-old ceremonies—some brides have no time for that. They’ll break the rules, turn tradition into straight-up scandal—and improvise as much as it takes to turn their wildest wedding dreams into real love…
Eva Ward has won a lavish wedding on the nation’s hottest morning show and can’t wait to kick off her happily-ever-after in style. Too bad her fiancé backs out on-air—and cameraman Aidan Walker makes sure her private meltdown goes viral, down to the last couch-kicking moment. The only way Eva can save face and keep her perfect nuptial plans on track is to star in a new “find-a-groom” reality segment. But finding Mr. Right in one month means ignoring her handsome new producer—none other than Aidan himself—and getting their instant, exasperating attraction out of her system…
Eva soon finds there’s a lot more to Aidan than freewheeling charm. But one glimpse of his caring side can’t make up for off-camera politics, Aidan’s own secrets—or Eva’s fear that they’re too different to ever trust each other. So it’s time for her to flip this script, write twists no one will see coming—and risk her heart to get the real thing…

Tempt Me with Diamonds by Jane Feather is 99c! This is the first book in the London Jewels series and was released last month. Be warned that many readers say this has a lot of Old Skool qualities, especially for a book published in 2019. If that’s what you’re after, great! But if it’s something you’d rather avoid, that’s cool, too!
Three friends who met at an elite English boarding school take on the town—and the ton—one by one, in this sparkling new series about love, loss, and lustrous gemstones, from New York Times bestselling author Jane Feather…
A FINE ROMANCE…
Diana Sommerville seems to have it all—beauty, brains, and vast wealth, thanks to her family’s ownership of a diamond mine abroad. But when her beloved brother dies in battle and leaves a lion’s share of his estate to his best friend, Diana finds herself in a situation that seems scripted for the stage: Sharing her family home with the man she used to love—and now loathes. Worse, her unfaithful former fiancé has already moved in.
OR AN EXCELLENT FAKE?
Rupert Lacey didn’t expect Diana to take the news without a fight. Still, he didn’t expect her to bring the battle directly to their newly shared doorstep—complete with a full set of trunks, and a full set of orders to the staff. Yet there she is, bold, regal…magnificent as ever. Now they would face a formidable challenge: to ignore each other—and the unanswered questions that stood between them. The only sure thing is their still blazing desire. But with a woman like Diana, it will take nothing less than a momentous misunderstanding, a missing prized mare, and a shocking revelation to restore a love that hasn’t lost its shine.

The Spectral City by Leanna Renee Hieber is 99c! This is “gaslamp fantasy” set in Gilded Age New York and I mentioned this one on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Some readers say this suffers from first book syndrome, in that there’s a lot of info dumping. Meanwhile, others loved the blend of historical detail and paranormal elements.
Solving crime isn’t only for the living.
In turn-of-the century New York City, the police have an off-the-books spiritual go-to when it comes to solving puzzling corporeal crimes . . .Her name is Eve Whitby, gifted medium and spearhead of The Ghost Precinct. When most women are traveling in a gilded society that promises only well-appointed marriage, the confident nineteen-year-old Eve navigates a social circle that carries a different kind of chill. Working with the diligent but skeptical Lieutenant Horowitz, as well as a group of fellow psychics and wayward ghosts, Eve holds her own against detractors and threats to solve New York’s most disturbing crimes as only a medium of her ability can.
But as accustomed as Eve is to ghastly crimes and all matters of the uncanny, even she is unsettled by her department’s latest mystery. Her ghostly conduits are starting to disappear one by one as though snatched away by some evil force determined to upset the balance between two realms, and most important—destroy the Ghost Precinct forever. Now Eve must brave the darkness to find the vanished souls. She has no choice. It’s her job to make sure no one is ever left for dead.

The Second Chance Cafe by Alison Kent is 99c at Amazon! This is a small town romance with a blue collar hero and some home renovation. This is the first book in the Hope Springs series and the rest of the books are available for 99c each! During the RITA® Reader Challenge, this book earned a B grade from Reader Gleecady:
Even though this is a romance and has the approved HEA, getting there may require a hanky or two and an appreciation that sometimes life just sucks. On the other hand, the dog is very sane and quite wonderful. I really liked book two and will certainly buy book three.
Growing up, Kaylie Flynn was shuffled from foster home to foster home before being welcomed into Winton and May Wise’s family. It was May who taught Kaylie the comfort of home, and the healing power of baking the perfect brownie. Years later, May leaves Kaylie the money she needs to open her own café in the charming Victorian house they once shared. Now back in Hope Springs, Kaylie’s determined to finally make all her dreams a reality—and unearth answers to lingering questions about her past.
Soon, however, Kaylie’s carefully laid plans take an unexpected turn. The house needs far more work than she realized, and Tennessee Keller, the carpenter Kaylie hires, is proving to be a very handsome and very unneeded distraction from her quest to uncover the truth about her parents. When a crisis threatens to destroy everything she’s worked so hard to build, Kaylie must decide where her heart lies: with the ghosts of her past or the love and promise of her future.

Not necessarily pertinent to this sale but…I have to change my password every three months at work. I am not sure I want B&N making me do the same thing.
@vicki: Every three months? I should be so lucky! We have to change our password once a month (every 30 days to be exact, so we can’t even pick a day of the month and say “I’ll change my password on the 7th of every month” because months with 31 days ruin that).
“Family’s ownership of a diamond mine abroad…”
Yeah, no. Hard pass.
@Maile – I was thinking the same thing….
The KM Jackson series is fun, do recommend. I also like her new one a lot.
