Genre: Contemporary Romance, RomanceIn this one-of-a-kind retelling of Pride and Prejudice set in modern-day Pakistan, Alys Binat has sworn never to marry—until an encounter with one Mr. Darsee at a wedding makes her reconsider.
A scandal and vicious rumor concerning the Binat family have destroyed their fortune and prospects for desirable marriages, but Alys, the second and most practical of the five Binat daughters, has found happiness teaching English literature to schoolgirls. Knowing that many of her students won’t make it to graduation before dropping out to marry and have children, Alys teaches them about Jane Austen and her other literary heroes and hopes to inspire the girls to dream of more.
When an invitation arrives to the biggest wedding their small town has seen in years, Mrs. Binat, certain that their luck is about to change, excitedly sets to work preparing her daughters to fish for rich, eligible bachelors. On the first night of the festivities, Alys’s lovely older sister, Jena, catches the eye of Fahad “Bungles” Bingla, the wildly successful—and single—entrepreneur. Released: January 29, 2019 by William Morrow Books
Genre: Contemporary Romance, RomanceCrush: a strong and often short-lived infatuation, particularly for someone beyond your reach…
… If Darcy Barrett hadn’t met her dream man when she was eight years old, the rest of the male population wouldn’t be such a let-down. No one measures up to Tom Valeska, aka the best man on Earth, not in looks, brain or heart. Even worse is the knowledge that her twin brother Jamie saw him first, and claimed him forever as his best friend.
Tom’s off limits and loyal to her brother, 99%. One percent of Tom has had to be enough for Darcy, and her adoration has been sustained by his shy kindness. And if she’s honest, his tight t-shirts.
Now Darcy’s got three months left to get her life together before her twin insists on selling the tumble-down cottage they inherited from their grandmother. By night, she’s working in a seedy bar, shooting down lame pickups from bikers. By day, she’s sewing underwear for her best friend and wasting her award-winning photography skills on website shots of pens and novelty mugs. She’s enjoying living the messy life, and a glass of wine or ten… until that one night, when she finds a six-foot-six perfect package on her porch.
Tom’s here, he’s bearing power tools—and he’s single for the first time in a decade.
As a house flipper extraordinaire, Tom has been dispatched by Jamie to give the cottage a drastic facelift that will result in a ton of cash. Darcy doesn’t appreciate Tom’s unsentimental approach to knocking down walls, and he really, really doesn’t approve of her current burnout boyfriend. They can’t be in the same room together without sparks flying – and it’s not the faulty wiring. One bedroom wall separates them at night, and even that’s looking flimsy.
Will Tom ever see Darcy as anything other than a little-sister obstacle to get around? And can she stand up to her most formidable opponent—her twin? This time around, she’s determined to make Tom Valeska 99 percent hers, and he’s never managed to say no to her yet…

What about Winter of the Witch? Am I the only one who’s been waiting impatiently since I finished Girl in the Tower???
I got a gift card to amazon for christmas and immediately preordered 99 Percent Mine and Winter of the Witch. Best 24.98 I’ve spent in a long time because it’s the promise of much anticipated books! Happy New year to all.
Yes to the new Sally Thorne and Jordanna Max Brodsky!
I REALLY hope the author of “Wrong Bed, Right Roommate” chose the name Shawn Lassiter as a Psych call-out, because then I will definitely be buying this book. I wonder if the heroine is Karen O’Hara…
@Iora – you are not alone! I’m on the waitlist at my library already for Winter of the Witch and it’s going to take all my will power to wait for it (I’m 4th)!
You’ve hit most of my list: Roni Loren, Brodsky, Thorne, but I’m also looking forward to the latest Truly, Devious installment from Maureen Johnson and, at this point is should go without saying, Untouchable from Jayne Ann Krentz. I’m ALWAYS up for a new JAK. I’d also like to recommend A Cathedral of Myth and Bone from Kat Howard:

In these sixteen exquisite stories Kat Howard deftly weaves in and out of the countries of myth and hagiography to write the lives of women untold and unexplored.
Thanks for bringing The Witches of St. Petersburg to my attention. What’s one more addition to the TBR pile, at this point?
Sorry ladies, don’t know how all the extraneous crap got attached to that post.
January is a bloodbath for me. The One You Fight For by Roni Loren, The Wicked King by Holly Black, Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden, Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen McManus, and Slayer by Kiersten White (I’m Buffy trash forever, and I regret nothing).
It seems as though I’ve been waiting for ages for Summoned to Thirteenth Grave by Darynda Jones. I’m also looking forward to enjoying a squee with my 14 year old niece discussing both The Wicked King and the King of Scars because the fun of recommending books is talking about them afterwards.
I’m also looking forward to the next Katherine Arden book! They’ve been great to read in the winter months. Winter of the Witch is perfectly named. In case this is helpful to anyone since I know a lot of good books comes out this month, Hoopla Digital, if you have it through your library, has the newest Roni Loren and Amanda Bouchet books. There may be others but those are the ones I checked for. (I hope its ok I said this. I apologize if its not). Obviously you can tell the ones I’m excited for.
@Leena: Of course it’s okay. We love libraries and fully support getting your reading in however you can!
The new Roni Loren is AMAZING. I binged the whole thing yesterday and have major book hangover today. So many feels!
I’m two-thirds through the new Roni Loren and loving it.
Mhairi McFarlane’s new one is out since yesterday and I’m constantly wishing the day would end so I can get into bed and get back to reading it. So far, I’m loving it and anticipating a Darcy-esque love interest.
