Thaw

Thaw by Elyse Springer is 99c! This is an asexual lesbian romance between a model and a librarian. Talk about a catnip pairing! Some readers say the writing style takes some getting used to, while others loved the opposites attract element in the romance. This sale only lasts through the 12th. Have you read this one?
Abigail is content with her quiet life as a librarian. But when she’s invited to a high-profile charity auction, she finds herself dancing with one of the most beautiful women she’s ever met. Abby’s sure she’ll never see her again, but then Gabrielle calls and asks her on a date. And soon after, another.
Supermodel Gabrielle Levesque has a reputation as the Ice Queen—cold and untouchable—except she warms up whenever she’s with Abby. Only Abby isn’t interested in the heat between them; she’s asexual, and she’s worried that admitting as much to Gabrielle might spell the end of their blooming romance.
They’re two different women from two very different worlds, but Abby knows she can love Gabrielle. Her passion for books, travel, and theater prove there’s more to the Ice Queen than meets the eye. But they’ll have to overcome Abby’s fears—and Gabrielle’s own threatening secrets—in order to find their way to love.

Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan is $1.99! This is the first book in a new series and part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. Readers loved how fun it was and note there’s some pretty great female friendships. However, others mention slow pacing and the lackluster chemistry between the hero and heroine.
USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan introduces a sizzling new trilogy about three best friends embracing life—and love—in Manhattan
Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she’s now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than in the exhilarating bustle of Manhattan? But when Paige is let go from the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone.
Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother’s best friend, New York’s most in-demand date, and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige’s fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?

Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf is 99c! I mentioned how kickass this sounded in June 2018’s Hide Your Wallet. Some readers wished the romance were more developed, while others say the premise really delivered. It has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads.
Zera is a Heartless – the immortal, unageing soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger ever since she saved her from the bandits who murdered her family, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.
Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a Prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum; if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy her heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.
Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him – every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him – until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The Prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.
So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.
Winner takes the loser’s heart.
Literally.

Unrestrained by Rhyll Biest is $1.99! This is an erotic romance between a reclusive heroine and a stonemason hero, which sounds really interesting. However, I’m a little wary about the “vengeful ex” portion of the description. If you’ve read this one, let me know what you thought.
A guarded recluse, some dirty pictures and a spark of curiosity that leads to a dangerous attraction.
When the reclusive Holly accidentally finds some very naughty photos, both the star – all inked muscle and attitude – and the way he’s tied his lady friend to his four-poster bed make her more than a little curious.
But to get to know the big, built stonemason better, she’ll have to overcome his vengeful ex and her own inhibitions – and pray that the walls she’s built around her guarded heart and dark secret remain safe from a man who has a way with stone.

My daughter read Bring Me Their Hearts and really enjoyed it. We went to a local bookstore to hear the author speak and she was really great so of course we had to buy her book!
Re: “Unrestrained” – is “Rhyll Biest” actually pronounced “Real Beast”?
RHYLLY?
SMH…
I can’t get over the tagline on the cover: “A man as HARD as the stone he carves.” Though the authorname is entertaining also.
I absolutely loved THAW! Elyse Springer is a fantastic writer.
I also read and enjoyed Thaw.
Same as above. Loved Thaw
I’m concerned about the cover model on Unrestrained. He looks like he hasn’t eaten in weeks.
“Bring Me Their Hearts” is totally outside my usual genre(s) but what the heck. I just one-clicked the Audible purchase.
I thought Sleepless in Manhattan was okay. Certainly not sizzling though and neither is the third book in the series (Miracle on 5th Avenue). In my opinion these books are lacking in both comedy and romance and thus not deserving the classification of romantic comedy. I would classify them as cozy reads but nothing more.
I read it as “a man as hard as the stone he craves” which made no sense. Also the model’s body looks like Christian bale’s in the machinist.
Unrestrained is worthy of Cover Snark with the boob under his left arm pointing downward towards his alleged penis.
