Happy Sixth Night of Hanukkah!
Today’s giveaway will help you and your future self with the Gift of Health – now and in the new year! Maybe you’ve had a few too many sufganiyot, or you cleaned your relatives out of their entire chocolate gelt stash in your last round of dreidel (nice job!), or maybe you’re cold and a little tired, and want that delicious rush of endorphins. I love those. Endorphins are the greatest.
Whatever the reason, this prize will help you keep moving forward into the new year.
Let’s get to it!
Today’s prize is a Withings Steel HR watch!

The Steel HR Activity Watch comes in a bunch of color band combinations, retails for $179.95 and comes with a variety of features. The customization options are terrific, too. You can set it to track any number of activities with the press of the side button, and can customize which activities are your most frequent (for me, that’s running, walking, weight lifting, snowboarding, and sometimes Zumba).
It also tracks your heart rate and let me tell you, that’s some heckin’ strong motivation when I’m getting tired from a run: I bet I can keep my heart rate up to moderate or intense levels for another minute. It’s funny how more data about what I’m doing makes me want to do more. Sometimes my gift of health to myself is giving myself encouragement when I most need it, and the watch helps me out with that process in really neat ways.
Here are some additional specs:
- Smartphone compatibility with Android and iOS.
- Receives smartphone notifications.
- Water resistant up to 50m.
- 25 days of battery life.
- Heart rate and other fitness monitoring.
- Compatible app for fitness tracking.
Oh! And Withings has a beautiful holiday box for 2018 if you’re gift shopping for folks who may want one of their watches.
And! And! We have a coupon for shopping that lasts longer than Hanukkah – woot!
Use code SBTB10 gives you 10% off all devices including the gift boxes, with the exception of the Limited Edition and Pulse HR. The coupon is valid until January 31, 2019. Woohoo!

Two more days left of our Hanukkah-palooza!

More than this year + more stairs. I couldn’t possibly walk less than this year.
I just got given an old Tony Little Gazelle Glider, so I’m hoping to do more than just ignore it. I already walk about 3-5 miles per workday, so I’m hoping to add on some movement to my lazy days as well. So let’s say 3 miles a day every day for the next year…
I don’t have any goals in mind for walking, just trying to increase the amount of time I devote to exercise every day. I tend to walk a lot anyway: I only use my vehicle when heading out of town.
As a non-car owner, I tend to walk a lot just to get around. I will be trying to use the stairs more, though…
If I’m healthy and motivated, I can get in two strength training sessions and three runs a week, about 4K each (I am sloooowwwwww), so I hope to do about 624 km next year!
I’m hoping to get back to yoga in 2019. A new job totally disrupted my schedule. Plus I can’t wait for the city pool tonite-open after months of renovations. Water aerobics for the win!
Any movement at all will be good for me. I have a sedentary job. 😐
I need to do at least my 10,000 steps per day and advance to more each month!
I have to get 3 miles in everyday or I am unbearable (according to others).
I would like to join a krav maga class and bike more!
I work in a large retail store, so for 10 hours a day, 3 days a week, I walk, climb ladders, and lift heavy things. So maybe 6,000 steps times three? Then I don’t walk much extra the rest of the week.
If my weight issues are any indication, I need to do more…
This sounds amazing! Happy Chanukah and Shabbat shalom!
Oops I forgot to say that i hope this will inspire me to walk more and get in my daily 10,000 steps!
I aim for 10000 everyday except the 3 days a week I run. Those days I usually get around 17000 ♀️
I’ve got to get active again! We recently moved to MI, and it’s not very walker-friendly, so I’m hoping to start a yoga class, and maybe some dance as well. Missing the mountains of the west.
I think I’ll achieve my 10,000 step goal By the end of the year in 2019!!
I walk everywhere so I’m hoping to just be more dedicated about longer hikes on the weekend. Soooo 3miles per day + 8 mile weekend hikes?
I hope to continue upping my walking to 5 miles a day and start a spin class.
I try to walk at least half an hour every day – my dog needs it and I need it more! Pokémon Go has been very motivating as I compete with my teenager. But this year I’d really like to bike more my two youngest daughters are enthusiastic cyclists so my goal is to encourage that.
I will walk 500 miles, and I will walk 500 more….
I’m going to begin an internship in a hospital so… probably a few miles a day… oh no…
Currently I aim to do 30 minutes a day of some exercise, yoga, spinning, walking, strength training. I’ve slacked off a little this last month and need to get back on track. I’d love to get up to 45 minutes a day doing something and so would our dog.
My goal is to hit 8000 steps more days than not. Usually I’m at “not” but trying to make that change!
My current goal is to work up to running a 15K that’s in March!
I’ve lost almost 30 lbs this year. I am hoping to keep going at least a few miles a day to keep up the progress.
I think my goal for 2019 is just more. My son loves doing yoga with me, so I need to make that more of a priority instead of letting “it’s too late” be an easy excuse. I’m sure my dogs would also appreciate more walking.
I hope to move a lot more than I did this year. I need to get back into walking….gut that will have to wait until the cold and snow go away 🙂
I want to start walking again. I need to get my plantaar fasciitis under control first.
I’m signed up for a 50K race this summer (eeeeek!!!!) so I hope to run, ski, climb, shimmy and amble my way into 2019 miles in 2019. Having a watch that tracks things instead of my ancient Timex analog watch would be amazing!
My only regular exercise is walking our dogs every day, which is not usually more than 2 miles. I want to get back into Yoga, especially during the winter months when exercising outside gets awfully chillyyyyy.
We all like to walk because it’s good for our physical and mental health.
Please take a minute to think next time you are getting ready to drive. Can you walk to your destination? Climate change is here, how far can we go as individuals to cut back on carbon emissions.
Hopefully I average 10k steps a day. That’s my goal. But, well…I’m naturally sedentary, so it is difficult to get me moving in my days off.
Yes to more walking, running, skipping, sliding, etc., especially with my four-year-old nephew. I’d like to do more jumping too, but I don’t know if my knees can take it!
I know I walk 1.5 miles about 5 times a week–regular dog walking with neighbors. But I am otherwise sedentary. So who knows? That watch knows!
I recently broke my ankle, so I will just be excited to do ANY walking, running, dancing, sliding, spinning, and moving in 2019. I will say, thanks to my knee walker, I’m doing a lot more scooting in 2018 than I ever imagined…
I really want to get back into a regular yoga practice. These watches are on my husband’s and my post Christmas wish list.
My Android phone tells me I usually walk about 7-8 km each day, but it depends. I would like to move from walking to running a bit more.
More than zero, I hope.
exercising 3x a week, but even that varies. a lot.
Tbh, probably only as far as my dog forces me to walk
