Can you believe it’s November? I’m officially back from vacation. I went to Florida to visit family and hit up Disney World. My body is incredibly sore and I’m doing my utmost to get back into the land of the living. I slept for a glorious eleven hours last night!

If you’ve purchased any ebooks from the Harlequin website, here is some incredibly important news about your books:
Harlequin is changing their approach to digital rights management with ebooks purchased on their main website. They are getting rid of Adobe Digital Editions and going with the Overdrive DRM, this means that you will no longer be able to sideload any of these ebooks into your e-reader and you must download the Overdrive app. Local backups will not be possible and all of the ebook data will be contained within the Overdrive app for Android or iOS.
Hopefully, the process isn’t too convoluted.

I’m a huge fan of unlikeable heroines, so I was really happy to see this list of recommendations over at Frolic.Media! My only complaint is that I wish the list were longer, as if my TBR pile needs any extra help.

More The Kiss Quotient movie news! I’m very excited.

Did you know that Tiffany Reisz’s The Red has been turned into a mobile interactive story? Elyse enjoyed this book and if you did too, maybe give this a try!

I’m trying to use up my harlequin reward points by the 12th since I have over 30,000. I’ve redeemed 8 ebooks so far, but it seems like there is a limit of 4 ebooks every 2 days. Does anyone know for sure?
I still have an old nook glowlight I read on and I prefer epaper, so that’s why I’m trying to redeem my points. I heard that the Kobo e-readers work with Overdrive, so maybe I’ll upgrade to a Clara HD.
Good luck Stacie.
Hopefully shopping and adaptating to these changes works out for you. I did find this page for Overdrive adaptation for Nook tablets, so use as needed.

Back to trying to 3d print christmas keychains for everyone.
You know how sometimes you don’t know what you need till you get it? Offing mansplainers? Thank you.
I don’t “purchase” books directly from Harlequin, but not being able to download a backup copy is a big red flag. Without the ability to maintain your own backup copy, you are at the mercy of the seller. This has not worked out well in the past, & while you may assume Harlequin is a big company and will always be there for you, assumptions about other such companies have held out not to be true. I would not buy digital books from them under this model of sale.
I think Harlequin is really going against the stream with this attempt to lock down their books. I agree with Laurel that leaving yourself at the mercy of one vendor with no way to ensure you can keep the digital books you buy is a bad idea. Formats change, new readers and apps come out all the time. Many libraries seem to be replacing Overdrive with the Libby reader. I really don’t want to have to check several different apps to find book 2 if I want to re-read it when I’ve purchased another in the series.
