Books On Sale

Books by Lauren Layne, Grace Burrowes, & More

Heads up that Amazon has around 350 ebooks on sale for Cyber Monday and six pages of romance ebooks!

  • Stripped

    Stripped by Zoey Castile

Stripped by Zoey Castile is $2.99! This is the first book in the Happy Endings series. I read this one and gave it a B grade:

Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!

Skilled, sculpted, and sexy, the men of adult entertainment are the kind of guys a woman reserves for her fantasies not her reality. But is there more to these professional hotties than meets the eye? . . .

The day Robyn Flores meets Zac Fallon is one of those days. You know, when you’re already late for work. Mostly because you haven’t really slept since your best friend abandoned you for her fiancé and her exponentially better life. The kind of day you drag yourself to the cleaners to pick up your laundry, only to discover you’ve got the wrong bag—Star Spangled sequined thong, anyone? So Robyn is definitely not ready for the ridiculously gorgeous guy at her front door, except that they have each other’s clothes. But then, is any woman ever ready to meet the love of her life?

There’s just one problem: Zac Fallon is not the love of Robyn’s life. Zac knows, despite the
all-too-intimate dinner they share, he doesn’t have a shot at her. Because the next time Zac sees Robyn, he’s front and center of the male revue headlining her best friend’s bachelorette party. So much for wooing the pretty schoolteacher, much less her impressing her old-fashioned family, with his upstanding lifestyle. Now he’s only got one way to win his dream girl. It’s gonna be the steamiest, most irresistible seduction she’s ever seen. And this time it will be no act . . .

  • A Rogue of Her Own

A Rogue of Her Own by Grace Burrowes

A Rogue of Her Own by Grace Burrowes is $1.99! This is the fourth book in the Windham Brides series. Readers loved the writing and impending marriage of convenience. But, others wished they felt more chemistry between the main characters. It has a 4-star rating on Goodreads.

For Miss Charlotte Windham, the best way to maintain her spinsterhood-and her independence-is a teeny, tiny brush with scandal. She chooses wealthy, handsome upstart Lucas Sherbourne as her unwitting accomplice. He’s intelligent, logical, and ambitious. What Charlotte doesn’t count on is that one kiss will lead them straight to the altar.

Sherbourne has no love for polite society, nor is he keen on being anybody’s husband of last resort. He is attracted to Charlotte’s boldness, though-and her family’s influence. Without a title, he knows he’ll never truly be part of their world, even as he and Charlotte inch closer to a marriage that means much more than convenience. But a scheming business partner is about to test that tenuous trust, forcing Sherbourne to make a drastic choice: his wealth or his wife.

  • Hot Asset

    Hot Asset by Lauren Layne

Hot Asset by Lauren Layne is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance and the first book in a new series. I thought this one was okay, though not my favorite Layne. I wanted more antagonism between the characters and less immediate pants feelings. Have you read this one? What’d you think?

A sexy agent hounds Wall Street’s hottest new wolf in an exhilarating novel from New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne.

Ian Bradley is the definition of a Wall Street hotshot: seven-figure salary, designer suits, and a corner office. His drive off the floor is just as potent. Every woman who knows him has felt the rush. But now he’s met his match in Lara McKenzie—a woman with the power to bring Ian to his knees.

An ambitious, whip-smart daughter of FBI agents, Lara is a rising star in fighting white-collar crime. Her latest case—the investigation of Ian Bradley for insider trading—could make her career. She knows a scoundrel when she sees one. Ian fits the bill: a cocky, ridiculously handsome bad boy with a slick swagger.

She’ll do anything to prove he’s guilty. He’ll do anything to prove he’s not. But it’s only a matter of time before their fierce battle of wits gets oh so hot and personal. Now, taking down Ian has become more than business for Lara. It’s become a pleasure—and there’s more at risk than she ever dreamed.

  • The Duke Buys a Bride

The Duke Buys a Bride by Sophie Jordan

The Duke Buys a Bride by Sophie Jordan is $1.99! This is book three in The Rogue Files series. The shortcoming in this book seems to be the hero, whose redemption arc and groveling don’t seem to meet expectations. However, others loved the heroine’s tenacity and persistence in the face of some awful things.

    A bride wasn’t in his plans . . .

The last thing Marcus, the Duke of Autenberry, expects to see after sleeping off a night’s drunken shenanigans is a woman being auctioned in the village square. Before he can think about the ramifications, he buys her, thinking he’s winning the girl her freedom. Instead, he discovers he’s bought a wife.

    A duke wasn’t in hers . . .

Alyse Bell is almost rid of the shackles that bound her in a name-only marriage, but the day her friend promised to purchase her in a wife auction, he vanishes, leaving her to face a mob of unsavory bachelors intent on owning her body and soul. But the appearance of a wicked, wealthy stranger changes her path forever.

    The road to ruin . . .

Marcus doesn’t know what to do with the impertinent chit who clearly isn’t duchess material! Insisting their marriage isn’t legitimate, they leave for his estate in Scotland, hoping to devise a plan to get rid of each other. However, on a journey fraught with misadventure, their attraction grows and Marcus realizes he’ll do anything to keep this fiery woman for his own.

  1. Katie Lynn says:

Ravensong by TJ Klune is $0.99 at Amazon today. Contemporary MM PRN, second in the series. I just finished it a week ago and absolutely loved it. I recommend reading wolfsong first, as the events in it overlap.

  2. Cristie says:

TJ Klune’s Ravensong is 99 cents today. I read Wolfsong a few weeks ago & had the longest good book hangover of my life. Highly recommend this series to anyone who hasn’t already tried it.

  3. Cristie says:

@ Katie Lynn–lol we had the same thought at almost the same time

  4. Ren Benton says:

I bought nine sale books, which made me high enough to splurge on a tenth full-price wish listed book. Regret is setting in, but also not because BOOKS.

One other wish list title was on sale for $2.99: Rose Levy Beranbaum’s The Baking Bible. It has the magical FULL table of contents up front so you can see what recipes are in it, the front matter doesn’t take up the whole sample so you can look at several recipes, and the ingredients are listed with volume and weight measurements so you can be as casual or precise as you like.

  5. LMC says:

In “Duke Buys a Bride” I am uncomfortable with the idea buying another person. In that time period there was virtual slavery (people with legal or financial options) and actual slavery. In the Romanceland bubble it all turns out well, but still the idea that someone can be bought and sold just pops that bubble for me.

  6. LMC says:

I mean people with NO legal or financial options. Ugh. Sorry!

  7. Deianira says:

Ooh… “Stripped” is on my TBR list, so this is an excellent excuse to pick it up!

And I’m with Amanda on “Hot Asset”. It’s good – I originally picked it up because once upon a time I wanted to be an FBI agent (alas, deteriorating eyesight put paid to that idea – thanks, corneal dystrophy!) – but it’s not my favorite Layne novel; I prefer her Oxford set. Well worth the $1.99, though.

  8. DonnaMarie says:

I will second @Ren Benton on that Rose Levy Berenbaum book. Actually any on her books. They are an autobuy for me. The chocolate cream pie in The Pie & Pastry Bible is orgasmicly good, and I don’t throw that term around lightly.

  9. cleo says:

Playing for Keeps by Avery Cockburn is free at Azm – m/m contemp NA soccer/football. It’s the first of her Glasgow Lads series about a queer amateur football team in Glasgow. I haven’t loved every book in the series, but it’s a fun series.

  10. Ellie says:

Amanda, I agree with you on the Lauren Layne. Her Oxford/Stiletto books are much better.

Although, I think part of it might just be that I’m over her writing. All her (at least recent) books feature an overly white NYC filled entirely with rich, beautiful people and no depth to the stories.

  11. JoannaV says:

Rock Addiction by Nalini Singh is currently free at Amazon. I’ve been curled up all day doing a reread under heavy blankets – no power so no heat. Hopefully we will get power back tonight but it’s been a pretty good distraction.

  12. (((raises hand timidly))) My Regency romance THE WEAVER TAKES A WIFE is free for a limited time. Here’s a link to the Kindle version, but the offer is good at other vendors, too. https://www.amazon.com/Weaver-Takes-Wife-Book-ebook/dp/B07H15FWCL/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1543284125&sr=8-15&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=sheri+cobb+south

  13. BellaInAus says:

    Thank you Sheri.

  14. Deianira says:

@Sheri: Hi there! I bought “The Weaver Takes a Wife” early this year & enjoyed it. Mr. Brundy is adorable. Thanks for the good read!

  15. Suzanne says:

I just finished reading the entire Weaver series this past week, and highly recommend it. Also, there is a fourth book coming out in December which I cannot wait to read!!
